The hell with him how is the dog!?
YES! Why did he freaking throw the dog out!!!!
Dog is ok with local spca
I wonder if the dog was trying to make him stop??!! poor baby
It looked like police had a great opportunity to block him on that dead end at 2:38...
Considering his original offense was just a misdemeanor, he'll be serving time for a slew of felonies. What the hell, man?
if they forgot to read him his rights- we'll for sure hear about it on KTLA
Yeah, I will blame the police for this accident because they can’t have him before all this happening
Of course you blame the police for not stopping him sooner but if they would have stopped him and he got killed or seriously hurt you would still blame the police because they didn't let him go. That's the problem with this world now we are always looking for someone to blame...
What miserable performance of police in all the lost chances to to stop the truck so many times. The injury of the innocent driver & his car totally avoidable. SHAME
Second collision was avoidable SMH idk why they just don't stop the pursuit when they have an opportunity!!!!
He hit the car on purpose.
Absolutely.
I am thinking the same thing.
Motive ?
This the nicest police chase I ever seen smh
It seems like tjeir afraid of him.😅
Yeah besides the multiple head on collisions and throwing a dog out the door 😒
California
Nah ... I remember the OJ Simpson white bronco "high" (low) speed chase in the 90s.
More of a police escort (to the next crash) than a chase 😢
Good grief. I know I am being an arm chair quarterback but it appeared that the police were simply following him and not trying to stop him. Seemed to be soooo many opportunities to stop him.
After the crash the dude WAS UNCONSCIOUS!!! But not one took a bulletproof shield and went to extricate him !!!?!
Blame the courts. If they had pitted and the suspect got hurt... LAWSUIT! You know it and I know it. Don't be naive
LEO are trained to decide when to use the PIT. The risk vs. the means decision. How would you react if the LEOs use the PIT on the street you live on? Better yet, how would you have handled this situation?
The police officers are using due caution in not causing a chase at higher speeds that could lead to fatalities. They had him. They just needed to keep him in sight till they could close in safely.
@@lildeli3rddimentionYou don't get a medic if you were a fleeing felon and just incited a high speed chase. He could be armed. Grow up a little?
CHP and Locals police need to take a course from Arkansas Police, they would have stopped this guys long ago and they won't be innocent people getting hurt (well maybe a little)! Arkansas State Police I've seen pit criminals @ 100+, they don't mess around!
We live in a gay state.
Sad isn't it?!

So true 💯
Yeah. Because freaking Arkansas is JUST like L.A. The whole state has a smaller population than L.A. dude. CHP here is an entirely different animal bro. Just like wildfire fighters. Best in the nation. No doubt. And that's because of practice.
26:20 - "they're so close that if he had a gun he could take out 4 people right now"
Spoken like a true Los Angeles news reporter, knowing nothing about firearms and firefights.
If that idiot cop would have stopped the truck at that dead end circle, this crash would have never happened!!!
These criminals are so stupid. All because of graffiti?? Putting people's lives in danger and putting Tax dollars to waste. 😖
Wonder what kind of graffiti tho. There's a big difference between putting your name/some art, versus marking actual gang or cartel territory.

Apparently, his graffiti must have been "Gavin is a poo poo head" or some such threat to the public.
Seriously? Is this why he was being chased? For graffiti?
Over a vandalism charge? Irresponsible af
Exactly!
CHP's no-PIT policy sure is keeping folks safe!
The liberal governor im sure had something to do with that...and they say he should go to Washington...lol

WTF is wrong with that cop? That was the best opportunity to block him! Stupid slow reaction time cop only had to move ahead 3 feet into him, get out and perform the arrest! The goon woulda been stuck there taking it!
2:40
There's ANOTHER blown chance! Saw it coming but let the goon go right around him and then wasted time reversing like he can't do anything but a 3 point turn! If that was my officer I'd have him in for driver's retraining ASAFP.
[@ 7:40] The Perp veers to the left for no apparent reason and has a head-on collision with an innocent bystander.
There were multiple opportunities for the police to have stopped the Perp, but they chose to prolong the chase, as if they were being paid by the minute or mile.
if you look close... there was a unit at the intersection, the perp seen that and made a stupid last minute decision to try and make the off ramp.... it didn't work out well....
The cops were WAY to nice to this criminal.
Democratic policies have led to this.
They have to be nice to him, or the minority family will sue and become millionaires

The Police could have stopped that "Vandalism" suspect THREE times. All the police did was escalate the situation until a crash happened where someone innocent could have been killed. Now tell us why were they chasing a vandalism suspect all over town then come out with dozens of guns drawn. YOUR TAX DOLLARS HARD A WORK

Nope. Got it all wrong. The vandalism suspect escalated it.
Maybe he shouldn't have committed a crime in the first place. How about that?

The level of law enforcement incompetence is disgusting.

100% agree.
i was kind of traumatized by that header-who should i call??
It only took 29 min and the mental card was played by the reporter. The animal is a criminal plain and simple. Enough of the mental card.
Wanted for vandalism, charged with attempted vehicle homicide.
They had the opportunity to stop him many times but let him go...the access
dent should not have happened
I’m retired LEO. Deadly force should be allowed. Keep the public safe.
I dont know why they didn't pit maneuver and block him in when they had the chance...
What a joke how this was handled. CHP should take lessons from other states' highway patrols in how to stop a suspect. So many opportunities to box him in or do a PIT and they didn't.
chasing someone that will only do 5 months in jail and putting people at risk is very dangerous
You might want to tell the suspect that.
If someone beat up your mom or daughter.
Would you just watch them casually walk away?
One of the points of police is for them to do the chasing so you can you do other things.
It looks to me like he hit that car on purpose
I think so too..
Me too.
Why would he do that? Like a fight or flight type thing? Or like trying to k*ll himself?
@@2riel I reckon after his "Fight or flight" situation. he deliberately steered into the oncoming car with suicidal intent ? I'm amazed the criminal risked his and others lives over a petty graffiti charge ? I reckon the man has some form of mental health issue/s to cause him to react like he did ? Especially due to his original crime being a petty offence of graffiti/criminal damage ? A strange situation.
*Vandalism
Gascon will drop the charges and file charges on the officers that originated the pursuit.
7:41 and this folks is why you need to understand cops aren't legally obligated to put their lives at risk to save ours.
The innocent walked away. That could have been much worse.
Thanks for pointing that out...I was wondering.
2:37 That officer should be FIRED!
that lead SUV had a couple of chances to pit him I don't know what they're teaching these cops
The cops doing this pursuit need to be retrained on how to end a pursuit
Watch chase videos in Arizona or Arkansas, they don't play games, they do pit maneuvers at 120 mph, in California have to be done at 30 mph, with calm wind, temperature between 65 and 80 degrees, (kidding in the last 2 ones)but any minute this guy is in the street there's a lot of people in risk to be killed for nothing.
California don't allow a lot of stuff
How about the cop as they took him from the car, the dude WAS laying on the ground with two cops on him and another standing next to, and the cop in front had his gun drawn pointing it at ... What the truck ?? the standing cop told him to holster that thing !!
Why don't the police block him earlier on when he was in the residential area?
They want to have another person killed before they block him?
“ he is bleeding from the head”.. oh, well,he did it to himself!…No sympathy, here!

I feel for the poor police dog. All he wants to do is take a bite out of crime. And he doesn't get the chance.
?? Police dog ?? 😆😄😃😂you know what? Yea. I hope the police dog officer is ok too
That wasn’t a police dog
you think he might be mcgruff?? you should call 9-1-1 and tell them that
I hate seeing Fire Department/EMT resources wasted on a criminal. I'm far more concerned with the other drivers that he hit and the dog he threw from the truck.
The weakest pursuit from the start to around 4:00. It's like the officer just wanted to let the chase go on despite horribly reckless driving. It looks like there were at least three moments where he could have been easily blocked in.
There's more than meets the eye here; no one runs like this over simple vandalism. This person must be wanted for something or he's some kind of crazy, which would justify such an aggressive police pursuit.
He ran from the police, which is a stupid thing to do in the first place so don't underestimate his level of ignorance. He may just be that dumb.

I disagree. It’s not worth two head on collisions.
Those cops had plenty of chances to stop him and they refused. That's a deadly weapon he's driving and it needs to be treated as such.

They should pass a law that allows police officers to deactivate a wreckless driver promptly when they're endangering the lifes of innocent by standards. Especially if they won't listen to orders to pull over! Trust me I speak from experience. I'm a taxi driver in San Diego County and I was rear ended in 2019 on the freeway on I-5 south (Chula Vista). It was the scare of my life! An erratic entoxicated driver hit me like a missle from behind. Thank be to GOD I was miracleously ok, even though my taxi was destroyed from the front and air bags deployed. It was this guy's 2nd DUI! He was taken under custody and sent to jail. What a selfish act! I'm glad that poor guy with the red car was ok; as well as the first driver that was hit. What frustrates me is that not all of us have the same luck. Others get crippled or killed! We have to think what matters most in situations like these. It's quite obvious this crazy or potentially evil people don't care what happens anymore.

I don't think they are allowed to do that in California
The bank of America shootout years ago. The family sued everyone they could for wrongful death. And almost won. Why would the cops get themselves sued if the court systems don't back them up?
At what point should they have taken him out?
