Dude after register remote play.. u dont need to be on the same network to play ur PS4 games.. just need a good wifi connection elsewhere to play it.. as long as ur PS4 is still connected to ethernet at home..
Are you guys 100% sure? Have you guys actually tried it yourself? my note 10 will not connect to the ps4 remote play if I am not on the same network connected.
I think what is even more important about this update is you can now use your PS4 controller as a MFI controller on iOS. Now I can play all the sega games, etc with a proper controller and it makes a huge difference.
@@DoomRater your results might vary some people have said that OTG cables don't work on their phones for instance the one plus 5t apparently doesn't work with OTG basically all Samsung/Google/Sony phones should work
For what it’s worth, you do not have to be on the same network. I have done this from a completely different city than my home PS4. You DO need WiFi or the app won’t even try. Worked incredibly well, though. I was very impressed at how well it worked over WiFi from a different location. Maybe a half second input lag and flawless graphics.

I’m not sure if it would have worked since my system won’t turn on but I’m really bummed out since the whole state is quarantined and I don’t have the money to get a new one. Glad you clarified the same network thing. People keep saying they're playing miles away from their PS4 or you can be on another wifi network etc, and that isn't true. I don't even see how it'd be possible, how would you find your PS4 on a different wifi network? So hopefully your video clears that up. Cause people keep telling others you can use remote play anywhere even if you aren't home.

@@DenonGregory I think it's just the matter of knowing what to search. My sister isn't quite the IT genius herself. She must have found it online aswell. I know that they have their own cloud server. It might be that her devices connect into that same server wherever she may be. Kinda similar to wake on Lan maybe? Don't know the details myself and I'm in no hurry to find out, since I don't have Android 10.

Sony has supported PS4 remote play on there own devices since android 5.0 and now it's only just letting other android devices use this feature now. I started using the advantages of it back when the Sony Xperia Z1 came out

To connect your PS4 controller to the android you need to turn on blu tooth and hold the PS4 button and the share till you controller flashes then it will show up on blu tooth then connect btw good luck

Are there any latency or lag issues with remote play? For games involving fast reflexes like an FPS, for example. Would it be detrimental? I have experienced lag from smarts TVs while motion smoothing is on and although it's really subtle so that you don't notice, you find yourself wondering why you're doing so terrible.
I was able to set up Remote Play on my Galaxy Note 10+, and Galaxy Tab A 2019. They're both running Android 9 so I refuse to update them. I wish Sony would let older versions of Android use PS4 controllers.

@@appleseedonweed9264 Sometimes when you turn off your tv, your ps4 screen will close out on your phone. But if you restart the app and try again on the phone, I’m sure it’ll work. (Doesn’t have to have the tv on)
PS4 just needs to be in sleep mode, as the remote play app will wake it up remotely to start playing, once your finished playing, the PS4 will go back into sleep mode.

I'm going to use it so I can play some games while watching a movie or sports on my big screen. Ff my wife wants to watch something on the big screen I can stay in the same room still play.
The app works on android 5.0 and higher but the native bluetooth DS4 mapping only works on android 10. Keep this in mind my s8 running android 9.0 using an OTG cable to DS4 worked perfectly and I had 0 noticable input lag

I want to know this, too. It seems like a waste of electricity to have both the PS4 and the TV on at full power when you're only looking at the phone. I could try it myself, but I'm busy with work this week so it may be a while before I can test it myself.
Well, of course not! but you don't need the TV on, in my case, I have the PS4 in rest mode, I open the app, it starts the connection and I can hear my PS4 turning on (beep noises, fan on, the disc spinning) and that's it, the TV never comes on (I have it with HDMI Link and usually comes on if I turn the console on with a controller)

Great video ETA Prime. I was able to use the ps4 dualshock properly on the asus rog 2 using a usb c to micro OTG cable. Even the touch pad worked as a mouse. Hope asus updates to android 10 so i can loose the cord lol.

A better app is PStreamer. you can connect any bluetooth controller whatever the android os version. I also use it on my hacked switch playing with joycons.
You need to be on the same network? Is that an artificial limitation on the app? I ask because remote play on my PS Vita can be on another network. As long as they both have connect to the internet.

You can still play in android 9 if you connect your phone to your secondary account and your controller to console itself as primary account, but of course it will be an experience like WiiU but still fun :D

You have to enable your router for it as far as I know. My sister was playing on her PS4 while being on vacation through mobile connection

You don’t have to be on the same network. This works like a charm (sometimes 😂). I’m able to play Skyrim and The Witcher 3 while on campus.

I got the pixel 3a as well and it works fine and 3a has Android 10 so the PS4 controller works when it's connected Bluetooth.

It worked great for me, I tested it out last night and was impressed with the resolution quality, with little to no input lag and was quiet smooth.

It works on Android 9. I would double check for the app again. I heard you need android 5 or higher. but it works on my Galaxy phone.

I forgot to mention only works on the usb c connection on the side of the phone. The bottom usb c is only for charging.
