Background info about these repatriation flights. Almost 10,000 German have now left New Zealand for their homeland. A lot of them tourists stranded due to our level 4 lockdown & tight controls. In addition to the B773 flights beautifully captured in this video, there were also 6 Air NZ B773 flights which operated CHC (Christchurch) YVR nonstop. Lufthansa also operated 5 A380 flights AKL-BKK-FRT plus 6 B744 CHC-BKK-FRA. Additionally one Condor B767 was also used ex CHC. The LH CAptains were awesome in their respect by doing circuits over Auckland & Christchurch on departure & one captain out of CHC even named his 744 "City of Christchurch". We Kiwis love hosting German visitors & we hope it'll not be long before we can do so again. Until then we wish everyone wherever you are, good health & be safe. BTW: the last of these flights just left CHC 1hr 30 mins ago; NZ1952 CHC-YVR B777-319 ZK-OKO. ETA YVR 0921 14 Apr. Thanks Eye trapper for your excellent vids.Superb videography on your part. I especially like the shot of the geese during their refuel stop, presumably on the route back north. Kia kaha.
And we also had an Austrian and Swissair through CHC as well, Caught the Lufthansa the other night as was coming back over my flat at Rolleston on the pass and flyby before carrying on through to BKK
@@brendanbayer5002 Cool. Saw Austrian & Swissair on finals overhead home. Add Qatar B773 to list of visitors now. Nice that in an interview, Tammy Wells (Briscoes Lady) publicly acknowledged the LH B744 flyovers.
It's like Air New Zealand took over YVR, Thank you so much man for recording this rarity moment of 3X B77W at YVR. Such an enjoyable video this is going into my Favourites
Great video, wonderful scenery and great to see good old NZ so well represented at Vancouver, Thanks to much very an old kiwi, stay safe and hope everyone reading this survives this very terrible crisis that has struck the world, good luck everybody and take extreme care.
Well done, ET. This vid will serve as an interesting historical snapshot of the incredible (if not heroic) logistics airlines and world governments collaborated on to repatriate travellers back to their home countries during this pandemic. Good of you to still be out there @YVR doing your usual great work. Always appreciate the inclusion of wildlife. Stay safe - and healthy.
Thank you for recording and sharing this, amazing moments to see these three amazing Air NZ birds. What a shame that they are now going to be parked up for months or maybe even years
18:20 landing is awesome. There are many repatriation flights around the world. Some of them are the longest routes ever to fly. During this corona outbreak you are filming is a great thing. But stay safe and be,healthy and careful mate.
Cracking video and equally cracking Air NZ livery, sad to see so many aircraft parked up, unfortunately a common sight at many airports across the world at the moment. Hopefully this crisis passes sooner rather than later. Best wishes and keep safe and well my friend.
Great video as always, come back with Air New Zeland last month, great flight, good service. I was wondering about this flights, following all on flightaware.
hey i really like the content, so i would like to give you heads up. ANA will be flying 3 days a week, and most new flights will be domestic cargo flights, on small planes. The last few days the amount of passenger planes has been coming in less and you should only expect to see west jet for the most part. anyways idk if youknow all that but good job on content in these times
I was on the last one out of Auckland. (12th of April I think) A380-841 "Deutschland" (= German Word for Germany) which might have been it's last flight at all. Did a circuit "Sky Tower" - Auckland is quite famous for it and it was colored in our national colors (black, red, yellow) by flood lights all around. 24hours of sitting on your butt without getting much up at all wasn't so fun about it tho. If anyone has any questions about the flight or the program feel free to ask! Edit: By the way, excellent plain spotting!
That was some excellent filming eye trapper. Like always you have the best closeup views and add wildlife shots as a bonus feature, I liked Woody Woodpecker, uh uh uh uh uh, uh uh uh, uh uh, uhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh
Air New Zealand helping get some of the 12000 Germans home. Many Lufthansa and Condor jets have been flying from Auckland and Christchurch to Germany via Bangkok
Thank you for putting it out there. Just shows how some times we give a shit. And that goes for luffhansa as well and all the other. Hope all gets home well.
Cool catch those nice kiwis flying those folks home , i liked the air canada nose wheel touched then went up then down cery cool. Loved the geese at least they dont have to social, distance
LOOK at all the birds ???? wow! how many blades and birds are fatally damaged? Wait at the boundary fence for roasted wood-pecker. There is even a Hawke... Good item though. Nice video quality, audio and best information. Just not used to seeing birds at airports, let alone so many in every shot. Thanks

This was SUCH a pleasure to watch! The 777-300ER is my favorite aircraft and Air New Zealand has the best liveries! This was sick!
air nz do have the best liveries! their domestic flights are sick
That Air New Zealand livery is all business at the front, and party in the rear! So cool.

This is very calming and somber to watch. Thank you very much for catching our AirNZ Beauties.

This reminds me of the Queenstown airport with that stunning backdrop. So proud as a Kiwi to see the two black beauties standing beside each other.

@@eyetrapper Awesome footage. I'm not sure having a goose colony so close to the airfield is the best though?
