It would have been cool if they added a Final Fantasy scaling only for the Final boss in Persona Games (Or I guess SMT in general) so it would still be both a challenge and always possible But then again after a certain point, stats don't matter anymore in SMT oh well becuase *It matters not who you are, one hour long battle awaits you*
I swear, I'm still coming back to this time and time again. It's a wonderful orchestration But frankly, I feel like something's missing, especially in the beginning. There's this kind of 'power and weight' the original had, making you really feel like you're staring Death in the face and that it's going to be an experience like no other. The second half does this way better than the first IMO, adding more drama with the choir and percussion. But really, it's just a bit too 'light' for the scenario and the vocal bit just didn't have the same appeal as they did in the original. Personally, I'd add more bass in the beggining and slow the parts around and during the vocals. EDIT: After listening to the original, I'm hearing that it's going too fast, which takes away a decent chunk of the feeling and drama IMO.
Yeah it's the tempo. The original is at ~152 bpm, while this orchestral version is played at ~172. I agree. It's strange that they chose to play it this way.

Probably not. Persona games aren't really too into orchestra, probably because it's a bit cliche for JRPGs and also it isn't set in a medieval fantasy world. The newer Persona games are more into other kinds of genres; especially more modern sounding ones. SMT games in general aren't that into orchestra, preferring metal, rock, electronic, and more recently; experimental music. The only exception I know is Strange Journey, because orchestral was pretty fitting there. And if we're talking about ATLUS in general, Etrian Odyssey games since IV have had some orchestral soundtracks in them too. But yeah, generally with the SMT franchise you'll hear music genres that aren't exactly the norm of what you'd hear in most JRPGs. I mean, half of SMT Nocturne's soundtrack is just unintelligible demonic Apple TTS metal screaming. The next Persona game will probably have whatever genre suits its style. But if I were to dream, I'd actually love for the next Persona game to have an EDM soundtrack, like Payday or Blue Archive. I really like the soundtrack of Blue Archive in particular, because it still uses EDM music for the slice of life moments but more lighthearted or chill like Snails House. But when it comes to boss themes and sometimes miniboss themes, Persona always tends to fall back to rock. Like I'll Face Myself -Battle- or Blooming Villain. Shoji Meguro really likes his rock, though it seems he's great at pretty much any genre you throw at him. I hope he does some work on the next Persona game if not the next SMT.
