    GOLD!!! LOVE IT , always end up here, when i try to push them with my hands they immediately make grips and start playing spider/lasso, what i usually always do is give them a quick push back on the shoulders so they fall on their back and then pressure the legs, or grab the ankles and push them on their back,

    Always love your tutorials. Your vid on lockdown passes was incredibly helpful. If possible, I'd love to see a detailed vid on headquarters and how to better establish it. Also, how your approach to headquarters might differ from, say, Lovato Jr.

    when your leaning into them with the head, any concerns about getting caught in a loop choke, seems like up putting my head out there for the choke

      1:25, if you get a sleeve grip on their left arm with your right hand, they won't be able to loop choke AND they won't be able to build their base once you've smashed them down because you've got their bottom arm.

    How would you manage the threat of a cross collar grip when leading with your head... That grip can be specially dangerous if they collar drag you. Thanks for the video it's been really useful.

      Get a 2-on-1 on the arm they're using to cross collar grip, strip it and go right into the pass.

      Yeah, I tried to lead with my head and got stuck in a ouchie guillotine. Maybe my head was too low?

      I personally don’t press straight on his chest- I enter my head lower close to his hip. Then I control the arms until I can safely raise my head a little higher.

    If the opponent has a collar grip with one of his hands do i have to deal with that first incase he goes for loop chokes with my head so low?

    • @charlesbell5500
      @charlesbell5500 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If he gets a collar grip, you should immediately get a sleeve grip on their other arm, that way they can't really threaten the choke. Also, controlling the sleeve first is a more efficient way to enter this pass because they won't even be able to build their base when you smash, now you won't have to fish for that arm, you'll already have it. So, controlling the sleeve before you pass serves 2 purposes: 1. It kills their ability to threaten a loop choke/guillotine (because they will need to push your head to the outside with their other arm as your head is in the middle / on the inside). 2. It prevents them from being able to build a base once you've initiated the pass. So go to 1:25, you would get a sleeve grip on their left arm with your right hand. All of this is just my opinion, I'm not a black belt so don't take my opinion too seriously but it just makes sense that as long as you control 1 arm via a sleeve grip, they can't choke you with either arm, so I think this is a great method of preventing anything they could do offensively.
