The second method has never happened. The Supreme Court doesn't come into play in amendments. Note that all of that is just to get the ball rolling. It then takes a 3/4 majority of state legislators or 3/4 majority of a convention of state representatives to actually put it into effect. Again, good luck with that.

By that logic, neither my sister or I would be US citizens on my dad’s side of the family. My paternal grandparents “snuck” in here from Germany during the depression because they could see what a poop show it was going to be (my grandpa came over here as an unaccompanied minor in 1919 when he was just 11 years old and my grandma came over here 7 years later when a family member sponsored her to come work for them as a housekeeper and caregiver for their children). I’d have to apply for citizenship through my mom’s side, which would be easy to prove since records show that most of her side of the family has been here since before the US was even an independent country (the latest immigrant on her side of the family was like my great great grandfather who came over here from Scotland via Canada but that was in the 1800s before we had any immigration laws).

By that logic, neither my sister or I would be US citizens on my dad’s side of the family. My paternal grandparents “snuck” in here from Germany during the depression because they could see what a poop show it was going to be (my grandpa came over here as an unaccompanied minor in 1919 when he was just 11 years old and my grandma came over here 7 years later when a family member sponsored her to come work for them as a housekeeper and caregiver for their children). I’d have to apply for citizenship through my mom’s side, which would be easy to prove since records show that most of her side of the family has been here since before the US was even an independent country (the latest immigrant on her side of the family was like my great great grandfather who came over here from Scotland via Canada but that was in the 1800s before we had any immigration laws).

Yes it does. 'Subject to the jurisdiction' refers to dual nationality being used to dodge being subject to US Law. So a foreign diplomats child born in America does not get citizenship as they are considered to xcxitizens of the country their father represents. A strict reading of the Copnstition as the current Suypreme Courts likes to read it would make the child a citizen as the only requirement is to be born in the US which then automatically makes them subject to the jurisdiction in the sameway foreigners are when they visit.

The Republican party of Lincoln passed a Civil Rights Act in 1866 declaring persons born or naturalized in the US are citizens. The 14th amendment clause, “subject to the jurisdiction of the United States" denied birthright citizenship to diplomats “subject to foreign power” and Indians "not taxed.” Anyone else in the US is subject to the jurisdiction of the US and our federal courts. Prisoners are held in Guantanamo Bay, so they will not have US jurisdiction and rights.

The 14th Amendment was put in place to grant citizenship to the children of slaves, but the way it's worded, it's literally the only thing granting Americans of any kind US citizenship at all. He gets rid of that, there goes the entire nation. And yes, he's really that thoughtless and ignorant.
