From what I know and understand, you won't do a Yantra Puja when chanting LSN. Sri Yantra can be worshipped in different ways based on the Sampradaya you come from. You can chant Khadgamala Stora and do the Yantra Puja or the more elaborate Nava-avarana Puja. Generally you don't need initiation to chant Khadagamala and worship mother divine in that procedure.
I am sorry but I still didn't understand the answer to the question posed in the title of the video, that is what exactly a Guru does when mantra deeksha takes place? The part of the sentence that the guru is backed by the tradition is understood, but then the answer refers to the Guru 'transferring' the knowledge to the disciple. But that's exactly what I am trying to understand, how he does that? Is it in form of a lecture (Upadesh) about how to chant mantra etc. Or is it something like Shaktipata? But if we consider it being shakti Pata, there are other types of dikshas not involving shaktipata I believe. In case of few people, I met who told me that they have received certain mantra deeksha , but at the time of diksha they didn't feel anything, so can we say this is also a valid type of deeksha, or a disciple has to feel something (which I believe people feel during Shakti Pata)? Or is it that Guru takes some sort of Sankalpa in his mind that "from now on I am connecting such and such person to our tradition by such and such mantra"? I am not trying to be Guru , I am just trying to understand what action (inner and/or outer) does the Guru take on his part that qualifies the act as a deeksha? This video just says that Guru transfers knowledge, that is what deeksha is as per it, but I didn't understand how. So, Guruma, pls be kind to enlighten me with more details about this. I just want to know what special thing a Guru does, either internally or externally, that makes certain act as deeksha.
Guru does not do anything, first because there are no authentic gurus today. Second because guru is Bhrama, Guru is Vishnu, Guru is Maheshwara... non è fisico il guru.

It usually happens by putting the darba (grass) or by Chanting the mantra in the disciple ear.
