    When i learned to sew back in high school my teacher told us if we didn’t understand the instruction to back up and read half the sentence. I like your instructions and all the pictures. Before tackling the mug rug i decided to watch your video. It is wonderful. As i get older i think visual works better for me. Now that i have watched the video and have the printed instruction i can make the mug rug for my granddaughter. I have been doing embroidery for 18 years now and learn new stuff every day. Thank you.m

    I have made several of your projects over the years but work got in the way, as it does when you have your own business. I am in the process now of retiring and sooo looking forward to getting back into my quilting, embroidery and ITH Projects. I've started watching your videos again and loving them all over again. I'm always grateful for the wonderful detailed instructions ... I LOVE the number of pages you give us lol... LINDY

    Thank you so much! This was so helpful. I, too, was very intimidated by the print out. But this was perfect, as I am a visual learner. You ladies were terrific! I have purchased several of your designs and love them.

    Very good and thorough tutorial. It was a good tip to use the Steam-A-Seam to seal the back seam. I have made other mug rugs but your way of turning and finishing the mug rug was a very clean and neat final step. Thanks.

    I like the number of pages with lots of pictures. It ensures that I am on the right track. The pictures are large which is okay for me. I did wonder about the batting - what type, but I made a good guess. Warm & natural. Thank you! donna

    Very nice tutorial. I have been doing a few "piece in the hoop" designs and I have found that even tho it seems confusing, once you get the general idea, and do it once or twice, it makes perfect sense and is very cool. Thank you for all the good tips!

    Hello. Thank you for this video. I saw you while looking at another video but I left it and played this. I am definitely going to your store page especially as you have said you lots of pictures and large print. I have never known someone to mention this because I am blind in one eye and the other eye is a bit blurry so thank you.

      I think I’ve watched 8,000 hours of machine embroidery and I’m grateful for mature women as well. I need to understand my machine and embroidery so I don’t end up back at the point of purchase getting my machine repaired before I ever get started.

    When you apply the steam a seam 2, are you applying it to the wrong side of the fabric which is folded? or right side of of the fabric. ?? I have everything cut out to make a set and I am already stuck. I anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it.

    I learned a lot from watching your video. Thank you for having it here. What brand of machine embroidery thread (floss) do you recommend?

    • @OmasPlace
      @OmasPlace  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use Gunold threads. Love the colors and quality of the thread. But there are many quality threads available: Robison Anton, Floriani (it has great shine to it), Isacord are just some of the many brands you can purchase. I would stay away from really cheap thread. Usually you get what you paid for and thread breakage is a big problem with the cheaper threads.
      Hope this helps. Monika

    One hint is.. rather than to waste paper and ink, put the pattern in your laptop and use that beside your embroidery machine..

  • @lunaargentina
    @lunaargentina 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was wondering .... would not be better to put the fusible fleece with the fusible side on the back of the mug rug? the above is already attached to the fabric with embroidery and quilting....

    • @lunaargentina
      @lunaargentina 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ops. .. stupid question ....There is the stabilizer in the middle... sorry... :)

    • @johntocknell349
      @johntocknell349 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason for the fusible fleece is so that the front fabric gets fused to the fleece. Then when you embroider on top of the fabric, it won't shift and "bubble up" as you embroider. Press the fabric after stitching, too. And by using this method you can also be assured that your project will look nice even after it's been laundered. :)
