    Thank you for your information.
    In the upcoming late May, we are planning to visit Swiss for a total of 6 nights, Zurich for 1 day, Lucern for 1 day and Jungfrau regions for 4 days, we will be staying in grindelwald for 2 nights and interlaken WEST for another 2 nights.
    In these 4 days, we are planning to visit the mount Jungrau, Kleine Schidegg, Wengen (1st day) First (2nd day) , Murren, Lauterbrunnen (3rd day), Spiez, oeschinensee, Blausee (If possible) (4th day).
    Would you suggest us to buy the half fare card only or should we also consider to buy the Jungfrau pass as well? Because it is quite unclear that if the Jungfrau pass covered most of the travel expenses as mentioned in our plan.
    How about Swiss Pass, it seems not worthy to buy, so I am struggling with buying the half fare card only or also buying the Jungfrau pass.

      The Jungfrau Travel Pass will not cover the travel on day 4 of your proposed itinerary. You can see the area covered by the JTP in this article on our website holidaystoswitzerland.com/jungfrau-travel-pass/ You will also be required to pay a supplement to visit Jungfraujoch with the JTP. Another alternative is the Berner Oberland Pass (we have a separate Q&A video about this) - it will cover your travel from Lucerne to Interlaken and all the excursions you mention that you would like to cover on days 2, 3 and 4 in the Jungfrau Region. Again, a supplement applies for the Jungfraujoch.
      The easiest way to determine which pass/es are best for you is with our online rail pass comparison calculator. You can find out more about it here >> holidaystoswitzerland.com/switzerland-rail-pass-comparison-calculator/
      Have a great trip.

    Amazing content. Thank you so much.
    Can we do Grindelwald First and Jungfraouch the same day staying in Interlaken ? Or do you suggest we do on different days. Coz each is gonna take around 4-5 hrs in total I assume. Pls help.

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you enjoyed the Q&A. It is possible to visit both Grindelwald First and Jungfraujoch on the same day if you get an early start but we recommend doing them on separate days if possible. If you are travelling in the peak months of June/July/August you can expect there to be queues for the activities at First so it is better to allow more time than you think you will need. Have a great trip!

    Thanks for the information . We are travelling during september end this year . Is to and fro kanderstag to blausee bus/train , interlaken ost/west to and fro grindelwald village train/bus , lauterbrunnen to grindelwald village , interlaken ost/west to lauterbrunnen is covered in 3 day JTP ?

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! The Berner Oberland Pass covers all of the above routes you have mentioned but the Jungfrau Travel Pass doesn't. Of the trips mentioned above, it only covers trains (not buses) between Interlaken Ost/West and Lauterbrunnen and Lauterbrunnen to Grindelwald village. You can see a map of the JTP area of coverage here: holidaystoswitzerland.com/jungfrau-travel-pass/ and you can read more about the Berner Oberland Pass here: holidaystoswitzerland.com/regional-pass-berner-oberland-info-prices-and-inclusions/

    what are the benefits of 3 days Jungfrau pass over the Swiss travel pass for 3 days, if we want to travel in Jungfrau Grindelwald, lauterbrunen and interlaken region for 3 days???

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Both the Swiss Travel Pass and Jungfrau Travel Pass will give you free travel on trains in the region but there are differences when it comes to mountain excursions and local buses. The Swiss Travel Pass includes travel on local buses whereas the JTP does not. The Jungfrau Travel Pass includes free travel on the Grindelwald First cable car, the Eiger Express and other mountain railways owned by Jungfrau Railways but the STP only gives you discounts (usually 50% on these rides). There's also the Berner Oberland Pass which is great value, too. You can read about all the inclusions of each pass in our detailed guides:
      Jungfrau Travel Pass - holidaystoswitzerland.com/jungfrau-travel-pass/
      Swiss Travel Pass - holidaystoswitzerland.com/swiss-travel-pass-switzerlands-all-in-one-transport-pass/

    Do all boat rides (even jet boat) included in the Jungfrau travel pass? Also, the first mountain 4 adventure rides and are all included in the pass, right?

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the Jungfrau Travel Pass only includes the regular boat trips (for example for Interlaken to Brienz), it doesn't include jet boat rides. It also does not include the 4 adventure rides at Grindelwald First. The cable car to reach Mt. First is included, but not the adventure activities.

      Yes you can! The only time-specific train is the section from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch (and that's only if you make a seat reservation for that sector).

    Hello, great video. A question, is it worth it to buy the Junfrau pass and the Swiss half price pass for 4 days in grindelwald without the top of europe and just a one-round ticket from geneve to grindelwald? or is it better just the Jungfrau pass?

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you can purchase a SuperSaver ticket for the trips from Geneva to Grindelwald and back again, it may not be worth buying the Half Fare Card as well as the Jungfrau Travel Pass. It the SuperSaver tickets are unavailable on the days you need to travel from/to Geneva, the HF Card might be a good option. Without knowing the exact dates of travel and the excursions you plan to do in the Jungfrau Region, it's impossible to give a definitive answer.

    Even if you rent a car from Zurich do still need the Traval pass in Interlaken

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can only reach the mountain summits (and a couple of villages) by public transport so you'll definitely need to use the trains/mountain railways in these instances. Whether you should buy a pass or just individual tickets for each trip, depends on how many and which trips you plan to take.

    If i have the pass and want to take the gondolla to junghfroujoch, will i have to get in line to get a ticket first? And is there any assured reservation in those gondollas for me if i have the pass?

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't need to get a ticket for the Eiger Express gondola if you have the Jungfrau Travel Pass. All you need to do is proceed to the turnstile/entry to the cable car and show your JTP to the staff member. They will open the turnstile and let you through so you can board the cable car. There are no reservations available on the Eiger Express, however the cable cars run continuously throughout the day so you can be assured you will get a place.

    Wonderful video and very helpful.
    Could you comment, does the pass also include the Schilthorn, Birg, Allmendhubel?
    We are 1st going to be based in Murren a few nights before changing to Interlaken. While in Murren - we need to get TO Murren, plus visit Schilthorn, Birg and Allmendhubel. Will this pass cover all of those?

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Aisha, the Jungfrau Travel Pass covers you to Murren if you travel on the cable car from Lauterbrunnen to Grutschalp and then the connecting train on to Murren. Holders of the Jungfrau Travel Pass receive a 25% discount on the Murren to Schilthorn ticket (Birg is a stop on the way). No discount applies to the Allmendhubel funicular - it costs CHF 14 return from Murren. Hope that helps. Have a great trip!

    • @aishagautreau3086
      @aishagautreau3086 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Holidays to Switzerland ok so to get to Murren the Swiss travel pass will not get us there. We need to use it to get a discounted jungfrau pass to be able to get to our hotel. (We are coming in from Zurich so I assume swiss travel pass will get us to Interlaken and then we need Jungfrau pass from Interlaken to murren)
      Then when we head up to Schilthorn that's an additional ticket we need to purchase and we get 25% off that ticket as we will have the Jungfrau pass. Similar if we want top of Europe that's additional, Schilthorn is additional too then.
      Did I understand all that correctly?

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Swiss Travel Pass and the Jungfrau Travel Pass will both get you to Murren (from Lauterbrunnen via Grutschalp). The difference between the two passes is that the Jungfrau Travel Pass gives you free travel on mountain railways in the Jungfrau Region that are owned by Jungfrau Railways (which doesn't include Schilthorn), but the Swiss Travel Pass will only give you discounts on the mountain railways.
      If you will already have the Swiss Travel Pass, you can use that to get the discounted tickets for Schilthorn (CHF 42.80) and Jungfraujoch (CHF 160.60 from Lauterbrunnen). If these are the only two excursions you plan to do in the Jungfrau Region, it's probably not worth it to also buy the Jungfrau Travel Pass.

    Hi, I intend to visit Jungfrau region in end Nov. However, understand the jungfrau travel pass only valid till 5th Nov. What happen for visiting after that? Please kindly recommend any pass for this period. Much appreciated!

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Jungfrau Travel Pass is only available until 22 October. The reason for this is that many of the mountain railways/cable cars that are included in the Pass close for maintenance from 23 October. If you are travelling after 22 October, there is a Jungfrau winter pass but the details for 2023 have not been confirmed as yet.

    does the Jungfrau Travel Pass cover my train ticket from Zurich to Interlaken region?

  • @eddieckwong2076

    Hi, the video is very informative. I have a question re Jungfrau Travel Pass. I am holding a Swiss Half Fare Card and my child has the Swiss Family Card. I understand the adult can buy Jungfrau Travel Pass at reduced price and the Child MUST get a Junior Jungfrau Travel Pass (at CHF30). The Swiss Family Card does not allow the Child free rides in the mountain WITHOUT a Junior Jungfrau Travel Pass. Am I correct?

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! You are correct - children require a Child's Jungfrau Travel Pass (cost CHF 30 per child) to travel on the railways operated by Jungfrau Railways, which includes the trip to Jungfraujoch.

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland ปีที่แล้ว

      The Top of Europe Pass is no longer available for travel during the summer but is still available for winter (1 December to 30 April) and does include a trip to Jungfraujoch. The Jungfrau Travel Pass has always required a supplement for the Jungraujoch excursion.

    Can I bring a luggage in the trains in route of Jungfrau?

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There are some luggage storage racks on the trains as far as Wengen and Grindelwald but if you are travelling onward to Kleine Scheidegg or Jungfraujoch there is not a lot of room for luggage.

    I’m planning to visit Jungfrau regions for 4 days and 8 days for the rest of Switzerland do I buy the Jungfrau pass for the 4 days and buy a Swiss Travel Pass for the rest of my trip?

    • @holidaystoswitzerland
      @holidaystoswitzerland ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kelvin, without knowing exactly how many mountain excursions you plan to do in the Jungfrau Region it's difficult to give you a definite answer. However, the Jungfrau Travel Pass covers you fully for a number of mountain railways/cable cars in the region, whereas the Swiss Travel Pass only offers a discount (usually 50%). If you do decide to buy both the Swiss Travel Pass and the Jungfrau Travel Pass, you can buy the latter at a reduced price. You'll find more info here >> holidaystoswitzerland.com/swissrailpasses/
      Happy travels!
