Mai site me ek problem face karta hun.
Design ke according M20 ratio 1:1.5:3 hai. Toh according to theory 01 Cum banane me 8 bags cement lagta hai. Lekin jab same ratio ke hisaab se mixture banate hai toh actual cement consumption 7 bags per Cum lagta hai. Aisa kyo hota hai mere sath.

You have to add bulkage of sand in %age as Per field test to have a proper nominal mix in all proportions.. Test at site is very simple.

If the fine aggregate, coarse aggregate is Normal size then your formula is ok, but no material would be in normal size at sites practically, Hence we need to increase sand volume in order to get void free concrete.
Note: Volume of ratio is purely depends on Size of sand,Coarse aggregate.

Aapko sand 20% se 40% jyada add Karna chahiye gap ko pura karne ke liye.. it's called bukling of sand.. ratio should be 3:6-7:9 in m20 concrete.. add 10% extra cement in hand mixing
