Why does Kasparov get so much respect when it comes to how chess world should work? He was an amazing chess player, however, he destroyed everything that he touched outside of the chess board. He organized a scheme in 1993 and he was not able to sustain it. He didn't respect his contracts. He tricked Shirov and he chose himself to play against Kramnik without any proper cycle to select the challenger. Why is Kasparov considered an ethical person and his opinion should matter about how the candidate tournaments should be run, when he himself disregarded them during his time as a chess player? Didn't he destroy enough yet?
