Where do I even begin here?... Let me try to analyze this.
So here we have Black, who I am still not sure if he's actually got the Black skin or not in this mod, he looks either Black or Grey or some dark shade of cyan.. But anyways, he seems to be trying to get BF to understand his POV so that BF stops resisting Black's clutches. He states that he showed death that he was loyal.. Which I have a few interpretations of what that could mean, but I'll keep them to myself for now. Going back to the beginning, we see the phrase "Hear those mortal cries", so I'm assuming that Black considers himself/probably IS immortal. This would explain quite a lot, such as the fact that in the og Vs Impostor V4 mod, this mf cannot be voted out no matter how hard you try. He states that all humans die in the end, and therefore he's helping them by killing them early... I'm assuming he's trying to state that Death is a form of state of Nirvana or something, because he seems to be really passionate about the idea of everything reaching it, and he seems to have high respect for it. Now the line that has me stumped is "See that red screen". Cuz like.. the screen they're on is blue, so I'm struggling to understand the meaning here and I don't want to assume it as a flaw. Anyways, Black states that he embodies fate, which.. I mean fair, Fate never loses whatsoever, just like Black over here. Something I noticed is "Aren't I messed up?". This line is very interesting, because it shows that as much as Black tries to defend his point of view, he's still aware that it is wrong, but that fact is also something he's learned to accept. Quite interesting if you ask me. "I'm tired of that blank red screen" though, is also very interesting as it seems to imply that Black here is the same one as in the og mod, but he's grown so bored and unamused by his normal routine that he perhaps.. Idk- maybe he warped reality and changed the whole flow of the mod? Eh, hard to tell. "Hate those who try to intervene", yep, seems pretty spot on for what we know thus far. "Facing anti-live's divine".. I'll be honest, stumped here again. No idea what this one means, but I do have a thought that it's another line in respect for Death. Idk tho. "If you've a white flag, then use it". Huh. I wanna assume that he's just telling BF to give up, but it feels like he's also trying to say that giving up is the right thing to do... Like- from a moral standpoint. Interesting.. I'll keep this in mind.
NOW WEEE THE FLASHBACK PART :D- in all seriousness though, it seems like this is also going down the route of the timeline being reset constantly, though it is unclear as to who's doing it is. It MIGHT be BF, but could also be referencing Black given my theory earlier that he's the one who changed the whole mod to this B-Side state. "Wish a new then weakness of men".. I'm going to assume that Black here is trying to use his status as the embodiment of fate to create a new weakness for all of humanity so that something like BF, being an anomaly with how he's able to resist, never happens again. BF's lyrics seem self explanatory, he seems to complete lack the understanding that Black is the embodiment of fate because... of course he does, he's an absolute imbecile no matter where he is. Jads and Red's lyrics are a bit vague, but I'm assuming they're accusing BF of living life unfairly or something along those lines, which may go in favor of the resets being BF's doing after all, but maybe it's both too.
Up next we have Black saying that he's in the right and he seems to be alluding to the fact that BF doesn't remember whatever he did, presumably the reset itself. I like the line "You're the real parasite", since Black has a parasite form. Already went over the loyal line, but what I'm actually curious about here is "Snatch your collar, meet your eye".. I can't figure out what this is supposed to mean lmao. But up next, we have "Oh welcome to your end of time", which I believe is a reference to Dwerb's writing of their Defeat with lyrics(and the 2023 version). Fitting since both this and those 2 are songs that you guys worked together on, given Dwerb has writing and VA credits here, and on the other one, well, I don't even need to point it out lmao.And of course, the final stretch seems to be just Black repeating the lines implying BF's death and trying to prove he's right. At the end, he says "Death is your destination", so I'm going to shoot for the stars and assume that he won this.
So overall, very well done writing! I knew the style of it was very similar to Dwerb and now I understand why lol. But the bits that you yourself did (at least the ones I assume you did) are quite well done as well, love it. Dwerb also did a fantastic job voicing as Jads, who I ASSUME is Cyan..? Since the other one is referred to as red and- you get it. But also.. Damn, Maven, how many Defeat covers are you gonna tune, man? You've done a LOT of work on the same or different variations of the same song, does it get tiring at all? I am of course not complaining, these covers are music to my ears.. literally- but I just wanna make sure you're actually fine with doing them lol. On another note, great job to the artists too! I especially like the art for the flashback part, it shows that Black is basically in control of the ENTIRE situation, to the point he's even able to puppeteer other impostors. But I also like the art at the end, with the cyan outlines. Simple, yet very affective, great work to the artists! Also what do you mean by "Fix your mod, VFG"? Is that the creator of this or something else, and if so, what's wrong with it? I'm just a lil confused lol. But uhh, yeah that's my breakdown of this video and an attempt at understanding the lore that's going on here, I think I got it for the most part, but if I'm wrong, feel free to correct. Love this video ngl, fantastic work to all of the people working on it! And as a last word uhhh... Fries.
first of all, holy shit, thank you so much for this. i noticed that most of the lines you understood were mine which seems odd, probably because mine are much more blunt. and also, my own headcanon was that b sides and normal impostor are the same thing, and that this b sides black is a tyrant who took over the universe, warping it to his desires. and yes, bf does not remember his resets, but he is indeed the one causing them.

also vfg is video fanmade guy, the director of b side impostor, basically the mod is super jankey to the point you cant even play defeat cuz ejected crashes your game.

I have an analysis of one more line to what InfiniteWhitlock was saying.
The line, "You've lived like all the rest and bleed out all the same to me", kinda implies here that Black still views Bf as a crewmate, being killed like the rest, but also looks at him like he's more than a simple crewmate, noting how Bf fought back at the other imposters (but Pink because of how Bf himself didnt know of Pink being an imposter), and how though Bf is scared, he still persists and fights back, and considering how Bf is resetting everything, Black sees him as a crewmate whos more than the rest that NEEDS to be killed or the resets will keep happening over and over.

that's the best you're getting from me, anyways this is real good, black bee sides here has good writing, firmly believing they're right while still being a killing machine, being more of fate here, at least self-decreed. but while there's the more etheral-ness, its still black, who aims to kill, and basically nothing else. boyfriend's lyrics are also clever and, like the three other guys who I don't know lyrics are also good.
Also the voicework is also very good on this especially in the build-up before the flashback, good work around

If what he said is true, but for my scenario, if Black didnt change reality...then is BF truly resetting the timeline over and over again for fun, not caring for how much everyone, including Black (From Dwerbi) is suffering, and Black is the HERO by trying to end all of this, and kill BF for GOOD, so that Black and the others can come back to the past they once were in, while BF is the VILLAIN this entire time? Does the Parasite in Black truly have a way of protecting the game that was the Imposters' game from beginning to before BF came?
