I’m from Clearwater, Busch Gardens Tampa is my home park. I find it utterly insane Why nobody is suggesting an S&S Axis. It literally makes total sense….. especially with epic universe opening soon. The first Axis coaster in the western hemisphere would bring people? Or do I just don’t know what I’m talking about?
No doubt that it would be fun but it is a pretty niche ride and also pretty risky. If BGT wants to draw from the Orlando market, it is much easier to market with buzz words like BIGGEST, TALLEST, LONGEST in Florida. Also, let's face it, S&S hasn't been too reliable lately with the Steel Curtain fiasco. Personally, I would like to see an Intamin giga but I think if they are going to do it, it will be a Beemer and I'm fine with that. BGT has an almost 30 year relationship with B&M so I'm pretty sure they will go with them for their largest investment ever.
Good predictions, this is what timeline guess would be 2025 1. Hold over attraction announced on Scorpion plot ( family) 2. Major thrill attraction teased 2026 3. Giga announced ( Jungala , Backlot) 4. Hold over opens 5. Midway improvements 2027 6. Giga opens 7. Stanley Falls closes 2028 7. Kumba gets closed for a retrack 8. Dark ride announced on Stanley Falls plot 9. Hotel announced 2029 10. 70th year Celebration / Hotel opens 11. Dark Ride Opens 12. Kumba re opens 13. Montu closed for retrack 2030 12. Montu Reopens 13. New show announced at the Timbuktu theater I think this will work with and counter everything that Universal and Disney have going on and takes into consideration that BGT needs to build up money for these installments and work around crowd control factors . although SWO has to be taken into consideration to
This plan is really good, but I don't believe (and correct me if I'm wrong) Montu has ever had a retracking and is still one of if not the smoothest Inverted coaster in America. Now a Kumba retracking DOES seem realistic, especially the interlocking corkscrew section, probably the only rough spot on Kumba.
@@JapanD3V I haven’t been on it since Howl O scream last year and it did run very well. However, it’s also had daily operation for most of its life and Nemesis needed it so I imagine in a few years it’ll need it to
@@Loopingthrills Probably not lol but one can dream 😂 . They will have a capacity problem with the eventual need to retrack Montu/ Kumba. So I do think all the partnering with B&M and SW will lead to something but who knows .
This is one of my home parks. It's fun to dream, but I just don't see BGT getting a giga. In this day and age, a giga will easily cost 35 to 40+ million bucks. I could see them spending 20 to 25 million on a new addition. But even that is a serious stretch. I think a B&M hyper is more likely budget wise. However, Seaworld Orlando already has a world-class hyper with Mako. Why build another one right down the street. Tough to say what they will get. With Epic opening up, I definitely see BGT making a big splash investment in the next few years to help them stay relevant in the market. Imo the best addition for the park would be either a new Mack extreme spinner or a Mack Stryker coaster. Either one of those additions would make BGT a world-class must visit coaster park.
I’m from Clearwater BGT is my home part. If we get a S&S axis coaster that will cover the spinning you’re talking about. And potentially it could be more marketable in my humble opinion.
Same here, I really don't see why an S&S Axis isn't the wrong option, but a Giga isn't far from impossible either. There was actually confirmed Axis track being sent to a park in the middle east (I think) that has yet to be announced. But with the recent closures of Serengeti Flyer, I don't think the "relationship" between SeaWorld and S&S will continue, if there was any relations to begin with.
Busch Gardens needs more flate rides all over the park so the guest has different things to do when they are in inside the park don't get me wrong I love roller coasters but I like more things to ride them coasters.
The reason why Scorpion had to leave was due to the fact of it running out of parts. The original date for the closure was set to there as they did not know how long the parts would last and at most had another week left.
That's their "official" reason. It has been said that parts are still easy to come by. They also used the "end of its service life" excuse for Big Bad Wolf in Williamsburg in 2009. Fifteen years later the remaining Arrow suspendeds are still swinging riders around and all with longer service lives.
@@RomanJockMCO And most likely BBWolf became the spare parts for those other suspended coasters. This also happened with King's Island Vortex. The trains went to Carowinds for another Arrow looper.
@slimbeige8692 You really think three old Arrow suspended trains and parts could sustain four north American coasters for fifteen years? BBW was only open for twenty-five.
As far as all of us would love a giga, I don't see it happening. Busch Gardens is on top of an aquifer. There is already an issue out by the retention ponds. With how things are running at BGT right now, I think they are focusing all finances toward Wild Oasis, Jungala refurbishment. Now with all this tightening of the budget and watching every penny could be that they are saving up for the giga.
I'm thinking Anheuser-Busch and United Parks should install 2 more Busch Gardens parks based on where the other main Anheuser-Busch Brreweries are located and there's one in the New England area in Merimmack, New Hampshire which would be a great location for a 3rd Busch Gardens Park "Busch Gardens Merimmack"
Busch got the Phoenix rising and the BTW suspended family coaster as a package deal.. usually when one park get one the other sister park get something similar and btw opens in 2025 . also Epic is opening 2025 not 2026
I think B&M wanted to showcase their family line so in order to make a giga a little bit more affordable, they worked out a deal to showcase three family coasters.
I need BG to build a worthwhile successor to one of their most beloved and missed roller coasters they ever had. Please do not build a family coaster version… we want a kick ass successor to the big bad wolf… and we want it built in Virginia
No. For one, Scorpion has nothing to do with a Giga. Busch Gardens worked with B&M because of the package deal they got with SeaWorld Orlando AND the fact that Intamin was terrible to work with for Arctic Rescue and DarKoaster at other parks. If BGT gets a Giga, it will replace Kumba. Something else is going where Scorpion has been.
@@MrMac1138 Nothing is gona happen to Kumba anytime soon, they just basically bought a new train for it with the amount of parts they got a few weeks ago.
Personally id rather see an intiman giga. The MF trains are the best as far as restraints and freedom of movement. The 4 people seating on BM is rather lacking..Either way a giga would definitely be enooughbflr me to come dkwn from Ohio
This is wishful thinking. The park knew Scorpion was dying. They know the needed something in that area of the park to replace it. That's Phoenix Rising. You're looking at this as an enthusiast asking how the park can have the best lineup possible. The people running the parks look at them as a business. Every thoosie who CAN go to BG: Tampa already does for Iron Gwazi. They already have thrill seekers locked down. Why spend more money trying to capture the audience they already have? The main money maker is families anyway, it's better to invest there which is exactly what we have seen them doing. Busch Gardens: Tampa is not trying to "compete" with Epic Universe. No one can compete with Universal or Disney (except Universal or Disney). They know they will be an add-on to Orlando vacations and that's the market niche they try to cater to. I wish this were true, but I don't see any evidence that it is. I don't understand how Scorpions removal plays into any of this. It's not like you could fit a gigas station into that tiny plot of land.
Oh how juicy. I have so many answers behind an NDA agreement. I will screen shot this comment and then show others why it is a bad idea to not be optimistic.
@@supernova4760 😯 if this guy isn't bluffing I'd be SO stoked to be wrong about this. I'll make sure to keep some room in my budget alongside the Epic Universe trip
B&M is a dying company. If BG throws tens of millions at a company with such dying standards, they need a sanity check. A B&M giga would be rough, boring, and expensive (full package right). There's no reason to not go Intamin, Mack, or even Vekoma. But then again busch gardens has lost basically all trust from me in terms of actually running their park. Ever since covid it's been nothing but downhill from park management.
@@christyler6694 ok so Phoenix rising was the smoothest coaster to open this year and plus B&M provided way more quality then those manufacturers ever have.
