IU's version sounds like she's really sad and heartbroken while still have some lingering feeling she couldn't let go still and will only start to let go now despite the lyrics while the original Day6 version sound like they have some pettiness/bitterness and a lil grudge they hold in their heart despite actually being heartbroken. I really love it when a song can be interpreted differently like this tbh. ❤

Never thought this would’ve happened, with my favorite artist, but it makes me love them all more and want to relive DAY6’s discography I listened to so much during high school.
Yes IU's version conveys such emotions coz it is not so much rock. But the original sounds great and amazing of course so when you're a fan of poprock genres..it does have a bit grudge.. I love day6 and IU both❤❤❤❤

She also doe sthe same acting, but the best IU is the one who supports a lot of people, fans, friends family even total strangers. That version of IU is Lee Ji Eun. 💜
I think she really pays attention to her timbre. I remember watching a behind the scenes video of how she recorded "Friday", and she was really focused on the singing tone for the recording. her attention to detail is amazing

La verdad no sé, en esta cancion no siento tanto que usa mucho falsete, pero parando desde el punto de vista como sonidista, yo siento que el ambiente absorbe demasiado sonidos, para mi, solo falta ecualizar un poco la voz de ella en este clip en el momento. Si ella pudiera inclinar un poquito mas el microfono, mucho mejor. Igualmente es como vos decis, atrae a tanta gente, me encanta ! IU es IU.

But also Young K's part, although I love the deep and somewhat aggressive way he sings that bridge in the original song, the soft and almost idly accepting way he sings it here fits with the whole cover vibe perfectly
I kinda prefer Young K's singing of this part compared to the rapping in the original. If they ever decide to re-record this song as a "sad version" I think IU's rearrangement would work well.
Didn't know the lyrics till IU sing this song, but damn this is beautiful. Been there, it's awful when you were left by someone you truly care just to find out he doesn't really want to be with you anymore.
