Lui nee gives me a image of having her stuff together and being caring and talented as she is, far more mature than her age shows. It does explain a bit if you tell me that her mother had it in her, children pick up the parents patterns even if you don't teach them. And Lui is a very wholesome combination of what her family is.

Sometimes we use alcohol as both sanitizer and the local anesthesia, since we may not know if the patient is allergic to other anesthesia or what.
I once got my lower limbs injured by being hurt by a motorcycle which accidentally tip over while not correctly parked.
I rushed home with that motorcycle, self sanitized and anesthesia with the alcohol, and self sutured myself with the suture kits I took from hospital just for my suture practicing.
It was a really weird feeling to suture myself, especially when i can see my tibia bone through the wound.
I did use antibiotics I kept at home to prevent infection by the way, and I didn’t tied the suture too tight so that the air will help killing the possible anaerobic bacterias.
It left a scar on my right lower limb, but it was a fun memory.

Yes and no... it depends where on the head you get hit - less pain receptors in certain areas. I had to get stitches when I got a bad cut on the back of my head from hitting the corner of a bookcase when I was in junior high, and overall, there wasn't all that much pain - a little bit, but not a lot.

    • @jayzenstyle

The cut must have hit fewer pain receptors. I had one of those profusely bleeding wounds with little pain like I was bitten by a mosquito.

A lot of home based businesses were viable even before the internet. Could be anything from legal services to baking to repair work to art. Obviously the internet is now intrinsically linked to home based businesses, but folk could definitely make it work back in the day. Amazingly severe injuries do tend to be less painful than minor ones at least at first.
Read about it a while ago but it has something to do with the way the body responds to injury.
Minor injuries aren't a priority because they usually aren't deep or dangerous enough to trigger a response like Hemostatis so you feel the full effects of the damage.

i know how that felt, i got a pretty same injury when i was 10 YO from falling of a table and hitting my forehead first on the ground resulting a 4cm wound on my forehead, it was confusing at first but then i see blood dripping from my forehead rapidly yet i almost didn't fell any pain, but cause i see a lot of blood i got panicked and the blood wont stop flowing, the interesting part is that when i touch the outer wound part its just feel numb as if there is nothing there but fkin hurt when i accidently touch the inside part and yeah i don't get an anesthesia cause it was the emergency room, yet there is little to no pain during the operation.
so yeah she is lucky she didn't realize what just happened then, not like me who see my blood and panicked, resulting in a lot of blood loss

When she's reading the message in chat asking if her mother was a delinquent, the exact term used was "yan", short for "yankee".
That's used as a term for a delinquent, which is kind of Japan's catch-all for anyone who doesn't try to fit in, and has the connotation of someone casual about violence.

It's a subculture of Delinquent students in Japan ( it was explosively popular in the olden days ) . Like the main cast of some popular shows like Great Teacher Onizuka, Yu Yu Hakusho , Bleach , Jojo, etc. They stereotypically have dyed hair , rough/arrogant attitude and menacing aura that you want avoid being in close contact.
