    Thanks for joining us! We are Jason and Ed, and we are The Traveling Husbands! We are huge Disney fans and recently relocated back to New England after a year in the Valley of the Sun and the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Before Hawaii, we lived in the center of the magic that Orlando, FL has to offer from Disney, to Universal Studios and beyond! Living in the Southwest, we frequently visit Disneyland in California and a variety of destinations from Los Angeles to San Diego. For our honeymoon, we even got to spend a week at the Tokyo Disney Resort. WOW was it amazing! We stayed at 3 out of the 4 hotels on property, including the Hotel Miracosta, where our room was actually inside of DisneySea... we got to watch Fantasmic from our hotel room! And that was simply the beginning to our adventures around Japan.
    In addition to Disney trips, we have spent time in Europe. Ed studied for a month in central Paris and both of us spent a month researching and sightseeing in a small village in Southwest Germany. We have also been to London, Zurich, Alsace, and Barcelona.
    The Hawaiian Islands, especially the Kona district of the Big Island hold a special place in our hearts. And it isn’t only because that's where we got married! We both grew up in the Northeast and took many family trips throughout New England, the Mid-Atlantic states, and up to Canada.
    Together, we recently (and again) lived in Phoenix, Arizona, which gave us opportunities to explore the west coast, including many trips to Southern California.
    We hope you will join us on all of our adventures - near and far - on all of our social media platforms.

    So glad your back & updating us on your life & how you are doing.

      Of course! We realized not everyone follows us on Instagram and Facebook too, so we had left our TH-cam family hanging!

    I'm so glad you posted this video! To be honest, I was worried when you hadn't posted a video in nearly a year. I'm glad you're doing well.
    Please showcase the beautiful leaves and nature. I would love to see it.

      Will do! We are trying to find some autumn things to do and share, so keep an eye out! We realized we had been more active on Facebook and Instagram (it is less involved work for us), but not everyone follows us everywhere. So we owed our TH-cam community! ;)

    Thank you for the update. I have missed your vlogs. You both look great. Since moving to Florida from northeastern PA, I miss the beautiful colors as the leaves change. I wonder if there is a cider mill in your area. I loved going to the cider mill. Anything you vlog I will be here watching. You guys are great & fun to watch. Looking forward to share fall with you.

      Thank you! We've both "forgotten" how to live in the Northeast. Apple Cider didn't even enter our minds, but now we are craving it!! We need these prompts and reminders.

    I'm so glad you're ok! I was worried! Leaf peeping in the fall! Snow Angels in the winter and maple syrup making in the early spring!

      Thank you! We realized we hadn't updated our TH-cam community in far too long, but had been posting on facebook and instagram. We are trying to figure out some leaf-peeping plans for sure!

    Welcome back! Salem would be so fun in October. The Freedom Trail I'm Boston. A fantastic restaurant in Providence called Res American Bistro which is across the street from Trinity Repertory Company (a theatre.) Boston Museum of Science. Old Sturbridge Village. Mystic. That's what I have off the cuff. So glad to see you guys back. Xo

    • @TheTravelingHusbands
      @TheTravelingHusbands  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for those suggestions! We love Mystic and Boston. Jason has a childhood opposition to Sturbridge - it was a bad school field trip one year! Hahaha! But as grownup nerds, we might have to revisit!

    I grew up in New England. I moved to Arizona 20 years ago. I'm not sure if you owe us anything. But I was concerned. It's nice to you guys fighting the good fight. And I don't think it's just Connecticut. Healthcare in this country is getting ridiculous. As cancer and autoimmunes, and other health issues, are on the rise Doctors are getting hammered. I also have noticed Doctors cherry picking thier patients. You guys hang in there. Live your best life.

    I'm a big fan of Mystic Seaport in the fall, and they just redid the Planetarium and it's really nice! And the Renaissance Faire just started for the season!

    First off, welcome back. Jan and I are so glad to see you both again, you have no idea. I just saw your update and we had to check in to see what's been going on. Honestly, we were fearing the worst. We live in Massachusetts ourselves. The only reason I am mentioning the next bit is because of your struggles up here with medical care. Jan is disabled and we have been run ragged on this matter, so here goes: Have you guys been in touch with Dana Farber and/or Mass General in Boston? They are world renowned Cancer specialists and depending on where in Connecticut you are, that may be one helluva hike, but they are fantastic in regards to at least getting resources and may help with access to care in your general area. Boston is one of the highest quality locations in the world for medical care. As far as places to visit, You have to try visiting Salem Mass during late September or around Halloween. Apple picking anywhere! Plymouth Plantations in Plymouth Mass., Fruitlands Museum in Harvard Mass. Mystic Aquarium in Mystic Connecticut. This is also a great time to visit the mansions of Newport R.I. In particular, Ocean Drive. I promise you will fall in love with each of these places (Well... barring any apple allergies). We have lived here all of our lives and we are open to any questions you may have. Do not hesitate to reach out.

    If you’re looking for things to do in the autumn in CT I recommend Hawks Ridge winery in Watertown great winery. Great views of the foliage. Apple picking at Beardsley orchard In Shelton. Ice cream at Wells Hollow creamery in Shelton as well.

    • @TheTravelingHusbands
      @TheTravelingHusbands  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jason has become an ice cream connoisseur being back in dairylands now. And by connoisseur, we mean he just gets ice cream at every dairy he sees! Haha!

    Glad to see you back! I will second (or third or fourth) some of the other suggestions people have mentioned: Newport (at Christmas, the mansions are beautifully decorated), Colt State Park in Bristol (RI...it is right on the water and beautiful for walk and/or picnic; Bristol itself is really cute and worth exploring), Plymouth, apple picking/apple cider donuts. If you are up for a little bit more of a trek into New England, I would recommend Portland, Freeport (LL Bean flagship store and Wicked Whoopies), Portsmouth, Mount Washington Valley (especially during peak foliage or in winter if you ski, but it is beautiful year-round), Lakes Region area (in summer), Woodstock (Vermont...the Inn there is beautiful), and Burlington. I grew up in northern New England, so I can speak to that area more than Connecticut.

    I’m from MA! The fall is a fun time. Go apple picking and get apple cider donuts, do a hayride, corn maze, pumpkin patch. Check out Salem around Halloween!

      Oooh! Salem could be a fun idea! Jason has also been looking into the Mystic Halloween nighttime ghost thing. Haha!

    Was just thinking about you both the other day, thank you for the update. Suggestions for vlogs or just you're own personal fun: leaf peeping in Vermont, ice cream trip to Rich Farm in Oxford CT, Mystic CT, there's a really good pizza place in New Haven called Pepe's, I think, Apple Pie festival Dummerston VT, visit Brattleboro Food Co-op, did I mention a road trip to VT, lol. Newport RI, so many beautiful places to explore in New England.

    Some great suggestions already. I would add The Berkshires. Any season. But summer is Tanglewood and is perfect. In the Spring, take a trip up north to Vt, NH, or ME; check out a sugar house and watch them make maple syrup. Summer on the Lakes. So much to experience. So happy you are managing through.

    • @TheTravelingHusbands
      @TheTravelingHusbands  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      VT is totally on our list. Jason couldn't believe that growing up in CT, Ed has never been to Ben and Jerry's! So that is in planning. Haha! And Ed used to vacation with his grandparents in the Berkshires growing up, so that holds a special place for us too. And a 100% heck yeah to a maple syrup factory!

      @@TheTravelingHusbands I could go on forever, but Ogunquit, ME is heaven. Beaches, seafood, ocean trails, theatre…Love it there. And while talking about Maine, Bar Harbor is exquisite, with Acadia National Park.

    Connecticut has great breweries especially No Worries in Hamden. Cato Corner Farm is really good for cheese. New Haven is definitely the best city for food and for the arts.

    • @TheTravelingHusbands
      @TheTravelingHusbands  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed! We have been to several breweries over the years. And now Stony Creek is in our back yard! And yes, New Haven is great! We love popping in on a nice day for a bite to eat and a stroll. And Yale does some great exhibits as well!

    Guys it’s apple picking time don’t know if there are orchids in your area but it’s a beautiful activity not all people can enjoy this activity. As for health issues I think it’s a world wide issue. Shortage of qualified staff is an issue everywhere’s. I have been having unanswered issues for about a year. My Family Doctor is out on maternity leave for 1 year. Pulse dropping to 40 per minutes for no announced reason. Been to ER multiple times seen two internist done testing everything returns normal. So no further testing until next episode return to ER see another internist same blah blah everything normal. Luckily episodes not as often so hopefully in October will be able to see my GP. But not better here in Canada.
