Hi Thokko, Garibaldi Provincial Park is my favourite playground - sooo many beautiful hidden places waiting to be 'discovered'. All you need is a good hiking book and the ambition to explore our backyard. Thanks for your kind comment!
What's your favorite Garibaldi Provincial Park hike? Or favorite hikes around the area? Going to Whistler in July and having a hard time deciding where to backpack.
+Tim Nunn There are so many beautiful hikes around Squamish and Whistler that it it's really hard to decide! For an easy-moderate hike I would recommend Elfin Lakes or Garibaldi Lake. Both of these hikes are beautiful during July, but if you can, plan to hike mid-week to avoid the crowds.
We did this as an overnight, setting up camp at Elfin Lakes. This would be quite a long day trip. The trail to Opal Cone and Mamquam Lake branches off in a different direction, so we didn't go that way this time around. We have done the trip to Mamquam in one day before, camping out at the lake, and heading back next day... but it's a pretty long trip. I'd recommend doing this in 3 days. Beware - the bugs are pretty horrendous at Mamquam. Good luck and thanks for you comment!
That's actually the Elfin Lakes shelter... with the additional structure being the bathrooms. There's also a ranger station not too far from the shelter but we don't have any clips of it in this video.
Excited to get up there this year! Will be my first overnight at Elfin Lakes.

What was the hut at the end of the video?
