In this, you showed the food and yourself eating it as well. This shows credibility that you know what you’re talking about. The tone of voice is very optimistic and inviting, showing the audience the truth behind your words. The music in the background also creates a nice atmosphere to the video. The food looks really good!
@@locavore_eats Thanks a lot! I haven't finished watching your series about Barcelona but I can tell you invested a lot of time and effort. Keep on your hard work. Catalonians are very proud people about their history and language so I think it is going to be very special for me! I speak Spanish but it is certainly not the same! Good luck and take care!
I can recommend a restaurant called Colom. This was extremely tasty, great service and reasonably priced. Just walk outside this restaurant in the evening, customers queuing outside. The wait is definitely worth it.
Thank you so much!!! Just a note that Juanito (the iconic old waiter at Pinotxo Bar) passed away recently and Pinotxo Bar is under new ownership now 😭 I think the new owners are keeping the same vibes but if you're looking for another place in La Boqueria then El Quim de La Boqueria is apparently really great too!
thanks for creating this video- I appreciate how straightforward it is. I was in Barcelona recently and visited several of these places based on your recommendations. Cal Boter, La Tasqueta de Blai, and La Pallaresa were some of my favorites in the city!
Your video perfectly reflects the difference between eating in Spain and the US. In Spain, eating is an event, pleasurable, fun, experimental, social, lengthy. In the states it's a rushed evil chore, counting calories, searching for gluten free, no carb, lactose, allergies, trans fats. Most frequent phrase heard at a US table, "I really shouldn't have that." We have really got it all backwards, You did a great job narrowing down the list to just these when there are literally hundreds of fantastic places and the humble ones are often the best. PLUS, the exchange rate is very favorable. At La Barca Del Salamanca, we had complimentary olives, tapas of fried peppers, potato bravas, cod fritters and Gazpacho. We were expecting high-end US portions and this easily could feed four. The Mrs got a "salad" (enough for two) with seafood and I got the seafood Paella. THEN the waiter brought over several moist cakes, grappa and coffee! $94!!!!! (I even tipped €10) We left at 10:15 and at least 100 were waiting outside munching on restaurant provided tapas and sipping wine. Quimet i Quimet is a fantastic place for tapas.
Ah - Before Covid - that explains much. I do like your passion and energy for the food of Barcelona. We are planning to go back late 2021 - hopefully all is back to normal. Nicely done.
Went to la pallaresa, on 7/31/ 22. They were closed for the month of July. Came back on 8/1. Meh… underwhelming. Churros were good, they did not have the lady fingers since they first came back from vacation. Also, FYI, the market and much of everything else is closed on Sundays! Off to Valencia…
If you’re going to go all the way there, just budget $20 per person per meal, if you also drink wine and alcohol. And don’t go before you have enough money; otherwise, you’ll scrimp here and there and it won’t be fun.
Sadly Pinotxo Bar is over, happy for all those who could experience this location and the legendary owner Juan Bayen, he died at the age of 88 years… Even before there have been some disagreements between Juan Bayén and his nephews
This is my city and unfortunately, I feel obligated to warn potential tourists that they are better off going somewhere else. Robberies, especially at night are now the norm, and use of violence during theft is on the rise. I've even seen one youtuber, Dr. Cellini - do a video on it as he was attacked and robbed in Barcelona. I'm a local and they tried to rob me once already and I've also seen the aftermath of many muggings even if I didn't see the act itself - heartbreaking to see a tourist when they have just realized someone has stolen their bag from their seat or snapped a phone off their hands etc. Not only that but the corrupt Spanish government refuses to change masks in public transport from mandatory to recommended because some close friends of the government started mask businesses. This means there is also friction on the metro and bus with people attacking others, including tourists, if they don't have masks on...most people I know come from countries where masks are history so when they arrive here they have no idea and don't have masks with them. In sum, go somewhere else, it's not the best time to visit Spain.
Oh no 😥 Would you say that this is what it's like now after COVID? We went just before the pandemic and had an amazing time!! 😊 We have a few days booked in Madrid next year...hope it isn't like this when we go 😭 Anyways hope you are doing well and thanks for your insight 😊
Please change your background. If you’re talking about the restaurants and food I would definitely not do it on the background full of junk and guitar cases.
I am from Barcelona and you did an excellent job. Very well balanced selection.

Bar Joan and Pinotxo Bar did not disappoint, aside from their early closing time and the long lines during lunch.
Love those places to bits!! Luckily we didn't have much of a wait when we went there!
It’s sadly over, Juan died sadly and the restaurant is sold.
@@AdoAlbona La Boqueria is not going to be the same then.

Pues no mires videos de Barcelona y España y entre en los de Brasil.
Except for Hofmann everything is a tourist trap now. Just visited them and man was it disappointing
