I am a textile GCSE art student and this video has helped me complete my final piece (final examination of a project) thank you for your tutorial it has really helped me!
Thank you so very much for your perfect instructions. I was having the exact same problem with my sewing machine "eating" the tulle and was close to tears when I can across your video. I just sewed tulle for my granddaughter's Belle (as in Beauty and the Beast) ball gown and now it looks like a ball gown. Thank you so very much!!!
Thank you for this! You are so sweet, bothering to make a video like this so we won't have to go through the frustration that you did! Glad it finally worked! :)
Omg Ive been looking for this tutorial too. Ive been sewing by hand all this time. Ive just ordered a portable light sewing machine and hope it sews this fabric on 2 speed . Glad you made this vidio clip .
Thank you….. Your video gave me the confidence that I needed to sew net (netting) fabric. After watching your video, I had no problem with the fabric or my sewing machine… Easy peasy!
Omg...thank you so much. I had ordered a gathering foot and it hasn’t come in yet. So I thought I would watch some videos and yours was the first to pop up. I took a sample of tulle and followed your instructions and low and behold it worked perfectly. Thank you. Thank you. I have cancelled my order for the gathering foot.
You amazin amazing person. 😊 thanks very nice 8 m happy because you have share your Knowledge with everyone. Gracias por compartir con todos feliz estoy por su distincion I.from Canada🇨🇦 and Latin lady😊👋
Thanks for the 101. I just needed to see how to sew the top of a curtain to use for a canopy on my dogs bed. Couldn't find a pattern anywhere so I'm making my own. Tippi and I thank you!
I just love you. I rarely hear southern accents on youtube hehehe. Makes me feel like im home. Not sure if youre from the south but you sure sound like a southern belle. 💚💚 much love from Georgia!
if ur fabric gets caught in the machine, use tissue paper on the bottom layer. My teacher did this for slinky stretchy fabrics, im sure it works for tulle too
I’m not sure that would work for this tulle, since it’s gathering it. I think I may have tried that and the paper got bunched up. But you can try it and let me know if it works.
What kind of stitch would you use to add this to an elastic band? Through trial and error, I found out that if I sew it straight on the elastic band that it won't stretch. And that's the whole reason why I bought the elastic band; to stretch. I just want to know how to add it to another thing.
Thank you! My machine is different, but it has buttons and levers that do that stuff. Thanks for the tip so I don't have to bother switching feet. It's October 28th and I want to pouf out a skirt with hot pink tulle. :D Happy Halloween!
I'm having problems just sawing tulle together with a straight stitch, I do not want to gather it I just need to sew together. My machine keeps eating the tulle and the stitch is not properly sawing. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
+lunera40 You could try using a tear away stabalizer. I think you can buy it in the fabric section or use news paper under the tulle and gently tear it away when you're finished sewing it. I remember seeing my mom do that with tulle when I was a kid.
You are a LIFE SAVER!!!! At last someone who explains and covers most issues. God bless you!!! It was using the correct needle, for me.

This was just what I needed. Thank you for being here and sharing just a tad of your knowledge.
You're amazing. I wish you much success. :)
Use wax or thin paper and then tear away. It is supposed to help prevent the machine from eating it up too. ❤️

They always told me to pull the elastic tight (fabric isn't pulled)

Thank you I enjoyed watching the video
You are Great! Thank you for this. I am trying to start.
Great tuitorial, thanks for sharing! :)
My problem is that it gathers all right but it's not what I want. I need an ordinary seam, not gathering.
Try using a stabilizer. You can purchase it or you could use newspaper. Just tear it off when you're done.
You're an angel! Thank you!
This is so helpful .! Thank you So much.! 😀
Thank you for this video!
Would this work for nylon or sheers?
Donna Richey Probably. Try it out on a scrap piece of the material you want to use. That's how I figured out it worked for tulle.
Thank you 🥰🥰
Thank you
I really wanted to watch this but the camera jumps around too much. Once you said 80/14 needle, I stopped. I don't think there is an 80/14 needle.
exactly what I needed
What is the brand and model of your machine?
It's a Viking Husqvarna #1

if my sewing machine likes eating a fabric I like to use tissue paper. the stuff for gifts wrapping works just fine.
Thank you so much!
Thank you!
i dont want it to cather and it is gathering
Use newspaper or go to a fabric store and get fabric stabalizer to keep it from gathering.
