Just found your podcast during the fires. As a person who grew up and lived in LA for most of my life and a hiker, she is spot on about retreating to the mountains is our reprieve. There is a huge outdoor community in Los Angeles. People think I’m crazy when I say there’s tons of hiking in LA but you really couldn’t hike all the trails in a lifetime probably just in LA and surrounding mountains let alone just Southern California. Managed an REI in LA for years before moving to Oregon coast. I’m dumbfounded by the Eaton fire and how much city was destroyed and some of my favorite local places are just gone as well as all that historical architecture and picturesque treelined streets. I would like to see outdoor brands help people that just became homeless. Non profits can apply for grants too from outdoor stores and brands. Prayers for the people of LA and blessings to all.
