Seriously, I'm looking for some sailing caravans? Multiple boats, long journey, content from multiple angles. I'm waiting..would you trade old la vegabonde for a Winnebago? Our family is looking to move to a sailboat!
S/V Delos....La Vagabonde has the porn mustache and the guitar playing, free diving gal with tightly fit string bikini. You're video seem to focus on local population, relationships, culture etc. Hopefully you can keep it real and enjoy retirement. BTW...Auto correct changed La Vagbodne to La Vagabondage.
***** Would love to have you on the podcast to talk about your new boat or anything else you would like to speak about. Congratulations! I'm sure it is an awesome boat!
outremer 45 I believe. great news guys. just started following and looking at cats to take my family (wife and two little ones) on world adventures and to share my love of the ocean. will appreciate your feedback on advantages/ disadvantages relative to your monohull experience. Cool stuff
Some people are getting salty envious in the comments. That is ok let them go. These people limit the view around them to a certain horizon, what you achieve with a new boat is beyond that and kind of incredible to them. So they feel it is something they could not achieve and these people will leave, so they can live comfortably in a little box of theyr limiting beliefes. Let them be and congrats on the new boat.
Congrats guys!! Sorry for all the salty comments some fans are giving you. You guys more than deserve this new boat. You've given us so much magic over the years and awakened our dream of sailing around the world. We have a lot to thank you for. God bless, and congratulations!!
I'm sure we speak for many other sailing couples when I say we are equal parts so excited for you and also INSANELY JEALOUS!! You two were (and still are) a huge inspiration for us. This is just more proof of what can happen when you take risks and follow your dreams. Congratulations! Can't wait to see the new boat. Even though we are off the water for the moment, hopefully we'll see you out there one day. Cheers,Will & Cat
So happy for you guys! You definitely deserve it. I hope you will be able to keep La Vegabonde in the new name. Not sure about sea traditions but that name is such a big part of who you are.
Good for you. I am excited for you, and I look forward to hearing about the new adventures! I like La Vagabonde II but it is your boat and should be what/how the new boat speaks to you. Also, dont listen to the negative idiots. It is just jealousy and self loathing. I subscribed to your channel because both of you have wonderful charismatic personalities and you are good storytellers with your videos. The videos are happy, they tell are engaging, and they show beautiful places in the world. That is what your videos are about (to me) not an older monohull or new cat or whatever. Keep up the super work.
As a skipper of a costal sailing boat in San Diego I can't tell you how thrilled I am for you guys. My boat (No Problem - a 3o year old 31 foot Hunter) is the first step in switching gears and moving in to a full time life on the sea. The discussion with my wife currently is what boat to move up to? A Oceanous 45 has our eye, but I have always wondered about Cats. Now I get to see how the transition works for the two of you. Terrific! I will let you know when I start the "No Problem channel" on TH-cam so you guys can follow Andrea and John on their adventure. Cheers you guys and congratulations again Skipper Sully
I dont know, they make about $5 to $7 thousand US dollars per video if you check their Patreon page, plus the money from youtube. I would bet they have some money in the bank. It may be safe to assume Outremer gave them a sweetheart deal though.
In their newest video, they said that they will get the new boat for one year. I'm sure it's a sponsorship promotion for advertising for the company. That's how You Tube sponsorship works.
We're also being given the generous opportunity to upgrade sailing vessel. Nothing close to an Outremer 45 - which will fetch about 600 000 USD used, but instead maybe 15 000 USD once we're done cleaning her? Like most, we're a little jealous, but so happy for you both all at once! Well wishes.
All your hard work and finally you pick the rewards! Love following you and will be with you for your new adventures! And the name... La Vagabonde 2. Have fun and fair winds.
Firstly congratulations and justly deserved, both of you. I think that your new boat should be LA Vagabonde as well, your present boat finding a new home and a new name for its new adventures. Take no notice of the negative comments as to arrive where you are now is a lesson in positivity for all of us. Good things come to good people. Best of luck and I will continue to follow your adventures as they unfold. Regards, Gary
Congratulations Riley and Elayna!! This is an incredible opportunity! Don't listen to the negative people, sometimes people turn jealous, selfish and nasty when others are blessed! Keep up the amazing videos, and keep it humble and your loyal viewers will always watch you! You guys deserve it!! Jazmyne- New Zealand
I just watched the factory guided tour of the OUTREMER 45 on TH-cam. It is a beautiful boat! Three bedrooms and two bathrooms sounds like a house. Having 2 engines sounds like a great safety consideration as well. I doubt that you guys will get the three refrigerator option that the boat in the factory video had. LOL Congratulations again! Chris
A very well deserved reward. You've been an inspiration for many, not just for sailing, but following your dreams and hitting your goals. I'm glad you'll have somewhere more spacious, but most of all, more stable. I can't bare to see any more meals falling on the floor! Congratulations guys.
What everyone is missing is.....They pick up the Cat in France....And have to start all over again going round the world. I can't wait!!! Congrats Rileyna!!!✌🏼️
Well now they can hit islands and atolls they missed the first time around. So I'm guessing they have to port La Vagabonde and try and get her sold before February.
Big congratulations! Keep chasing the dream and see where the exciting twists and turns take you! Your message rings clear to all(select few who dont get it but we will ignore them). Follow your passions, live with joy, and embrace the world we have been gifted with! Keep cruising and someday we can race across an ocean!
Congrats!!!! This is a great way to carry on your adventure. I look forwards to Riley's sailing, safety and maintenance tips, and Eleyna's songs, amazing videos and day-to-day live aboard advice, all this in lively videos with info on the mooring, islands and people you visit. Really happy for you and fair winds!
hearty congratulations - well deserved you two. You make amazing films, beautifully edited and put together at lightening speed. I look forward to seeing how your style of film making changes. You guys work very hard at what you do.
"Bienvenue"! Encore un bateau français...excellent choix, un cata, en alu, un Outremer... pourquoi ne pas l appeler "La Bohemiene"? Je continuerais a suivre vos aventures avec bonheur. Merci a tout les deux.
it's still a long time until then, you've earned it and i'm sure no one blames you for taking the opportunity. however, starting in february you'll basically function as a walking billboard for the catamaran and its company while living on a rich people's boat no one can relate to anymore. the down-to-earth, relatable and authentic vibe (which was your recipe for success) will be hard to sustain this way. plus, i can imagine some people who've sent you money to sustain your travels in belief you really needed it, will be disappointed you've been working on such a giant business deal behind the curtains all this time.
..There was no guarantee they'd get anything... and they didn't disclose any actual funds... as far as we know, they're just getting a boat. Those require maintenance, and on-going expenses of course. They needed the $ in the past, and I'm sure there will still be a need for the $ now... which is why they're going to keep doing what they love and hopefully continue the success. Don't get me wrong, I get where you're coming from, but I think we should be happy for their success. Maybe someday we'll meet =) - Still a landlubber...
This is sad it's like you want them to live for you lol maybe until you get your own boat then we might be able. To relate to you but until then live your life that is the only relatable thing we can relate too living our own lives
This is true, I will miss the struggles that come with a small boat however, there might be more room to have 3 or 4 guests on board, instead of just the one to enable more to have the fun and their company. I'm sure they'll take veiwers through the difficulties of what's involved with a bigger responsibility. Size wont change their personalities...I'm looking forward to it.
Exactly my feeling! I wish you the best but can't relate any longer! You are the reason my family is selling off everything and going to hit the water for a year or two but if I had run across you on a million dollar cat, I would never realized I could possibly do the same thing....? I Thank you both from the bottom of my heart and wish the best for you...but it is going to be difficult to feel any kind of connection. Sorry:( I really don't want to sound like a hater...?
I disagree staxstix...this is about sailing, not you being butthurt. God one couple catches a break, we should all be so lucky! Go for it guys! Have fun make money and we look to the adventure of you in a cat and not a cork! :)
Congrats you guys. I have always loved your channel but have never commented. I have a Beneteau that looks a lot like yours ( but a wee bit smaller) but one day my wife and I are going to sell everything (Including our Beneteau 351) and buy a Catamaran and sail the world. Now I see you guys are going to be traveling on a Cat, so now I am going to enjoy your channel even more because I can watch you travel the world in the exact type of sailing vessel that we plan to do it on. Keep up the great work on your episodes. I will keep watching. Craig
Congratulation you two! You were my first subscription to a sailing Vlog on YT. Still my fav. You've done some tremendous things, stayed positive, worked hard, been honest, and have a great chemistry. I see why you are where you are. It's not been easy, even though you make it look like it. My wife and I watch every ep. when it's released and we can't wait to see where it takes you. In two years, we'll be out there with you. Best of luck and fair winds to y'all.
A catamaran? A CATAMARAN?? And I thought you were such lovely people ;) Massive respect to you guys, really well deserved. Does this mean you'll be starting over in France again? Watch out for those pastries. Peace and fair winds to you both.
I'd imagine it's a loaner for advertising. To be gifted a million dollar boat is no different than getting 1 mil cash. That's in excess of $300k (maybe more) they would have to pay for the taxes. Gone with the Wynn's did this with RV's. They would use for a year making their videos and would be advertising for the company.
I am so pleased that you's are seeing a return for your years of hard work. I hope your deal doesn't exclude boat breakdowns and adversities. Life happens and it's interesting about watching you's handle the downer side of things. If things are too rosy then I could loose interest . Please keep on giving us the real down to earth show. Love you guys.
Beautiful news for a couple who are nothing but deserving. Do what you love and the universe will reward you. I hope you have years of safe any happy sailing ahead of you both!
Video's been up 20 hours and the haters have ensued! Jealousy waits for no man. I say heck with that nonsense, ...good on ya both for living your dream! As for the name, ...trust your instincts. It's always done you well. Fair winds and following seas!
Honestly, it'd be easy to get a little jealous of this deal, if people don't know the lengths Riley, and eventually Elayna, went through to get to this point. In the grand scheme of things, the Cosmic Forces are with them.
Let me start by saying congratulations to the both of you. I am so stoked for you guys, been watching from the start, always look forward to the next. I remember when I was 10 we were living in rio my dad sat me down and said Son never be jealous of what others have or achieve, be happy for them, be happy with them, Riley and Elayna are sharing there excitement and what they have achieved. Can't you guys just be happy for them and say, can't wait to see your next adventure on your new boat. As for the name, you guys will pick the one you think is right. Again so stoked for both of you.
I can totally understand changing it because it is a different boat. But your fans know you and love you as "sailing la vagabonde". La Vagabonde is the name that spurs excitement in me whenever I see it on my youtube feed.
Hey Guys, good luck with your new boat and new adventures in it. You Deserve it, You have given thousands of people around the world a great view into your life and your ups and downs of life at sea.
What..! That awesome... That will defiantly make for great sailing on "" Lady / Miss Vagabonde "" I wish you two nothing but the best. It almost feels like being told of a new baby. Congratulations .... Riley and Elayna May the lord guild you in such endeavors. Post script : Don't let your guard down.
Rosemary and Thyme ..... because like you, both of you have a very different flavour but when put together you are great. Also very pumped to see you both get a new ship and can't wait for all of the new adventure's .
I can't believe all of the nattering naybobs of negativity. I'm so excited for you both! I have really enjoyed your videos and I'm so happy for your future adventures on your new yacht!! Pay no attention to the curmudgeons. Keep sailing and keep smiling!!!
I just can't believe all the hate in the comments. As entrepreneur, you try to catch the waves that you get in the best possible way. Time will tell if this it's the wrong wave, but for sure all the streak of judgement is utterly unjustified. Plus, nobody knows what the deal is. Likely, in order to afford this, they will have to rake up their game, with new camera equipment, better editing skills, more time and energy dedicated to the channel, more risk involved in their financials... and so on... They are not on vacation, they never were (even if it looks like one at the spectator's eye). This is always a business, was always a business, and as a business need to be treated (even if it doesn't seem like business from the outside) :-) Good luck to you Riley and Elayna. Keep up the hard work.
Awesome news guys, and you aren't just sailing "a cat" you will be sailing one of the faster performance cats, its like having a 1980's Holden and trading up to the latest BMW Sports Car
Congratulations to you both! What a beautiful boat. The best part for the rest of us is that you will keep filming!!!!!!!!!!!!! YaY! Well deserved, you two.
This is great news! I'll miss seeing you guys sailing in the cozy La Vagabonde, but having a catamaran certainly will add a new dimension to your adventures. Looking forward to seeing you guys on board the new vessel. I would submit the name of the "Sailing Dream" for consideration. Congratulations and enjoy!
congrats guys, been watching since the beginning this couldn't have happen to a more deserving couple. you guys rock keep up the amazing videos, can't wait for the tour of the new boat!
LOL There is NO sailing in a Catamaran around Jita you! You.. you... Isk Spammer You! Lol I saw your account name and about spit out my drink. And agreed, made me think about their particular brand of Catamaran as well! See ya in Null-Sec brother Bitter Vet.
Doug Northcote Haha... Nope not many Sail Boats in EVE although Minmatar almost have sails. I'm still dreaming at this point but the Beneteau's are the best looking monohulls I've seen.
We're in the "Same boat" and agreed on the Minmatar. I've run some of those ships just for the sale look, (and the cannon sounds I admit). Those Beneteau's are gorgeous no doubt. I find that the Cats just get my interest even more.
Doug Northcote Agreed. Catamarans don't tilt which from watching this looks like it's a challenge, and they are more spacious for the same length. I look forward to seeing the Cat they get in this series.
What so how did you guys get the catermaran again? did you have a million dollars stashed up somewhere, or did the CEO give you guys a trade in deal for the vagabonde or did you guys just get a free million dollar boat because he was a big fan? The explanation in this video has left me very befuddled. Nevertheless congratulations and look forward to the future adventures!
I agree with Jeahya22, I bet they were cut a really good deal because the this will be great advertising for his company in front of a large targeted audience. Chris
by a bowl of "mince." you mean ground beef? It's called Steak Tartar and it's really good depending on the place according to this omnivore If you aren't omnivore then I can understand your revulsion. Congrats on the new boat and screw those who have negative comments.....jealousy and "Muti-Hull Envy" is an ugly thing. What are your plans for LA Vagabonde? Will you sail her to the port where you will pick up your new boat?
I am super happy for the both of you. a beautiful couple who has achieved a dream for many. please try to keep it real and don't lose the magic of the two of you, your adventurious spirits, and your down to earth ways. I will keep watching right up to the time the big marketing company takes away the fun of it all!
I hope im wrong but i cant help but think that the genuine sparkle you guys upload with every episode without fail will be lost , you will no longer be masters of your own destiny but will become sales reps on the high seas.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! By the way, it's not "mince" with a raw egg, it is STEAK TARTARE a wonderful French delicacy of the highest quality beef- consider it a beef sushi... "mince" cannot be eaten raw but the steak in tartare is entirely another matter- same with beef CARPACCIO- also enjoyed raw... lot's to still experience in life. Experience eating STEAK TARTARE it will be a revelation to you. I know people who call eating the world's best sushi... "eating bait...ugh!" Calling STEAK TARTARE "mince" is like calling champagne "sprite"...
A good sirloin, porterhouse, ribeye or T-bone is one of my favorite meals and I prefer my steaks medium rare. I've had steak tartare once and it has much less flavor than a properly cooked steak, plus a rather nasty, slimy texture. Uncooked meat is also a health hazard. I suspect that most of the non-French people claiming to like steak tartare are about as sincere and genuine as the average person claiming to love the stench of a cigar - they are seeking attention by attempting to project the image of being admirably adventurous, rather than genuinely enjoying something that is displeasing to most people.Incidentally, in the history of the internet, no one who over-capitalizes as much as jwsyt1 does has ever had anything worthwhile to say.
NOT SO WIS! Guy! You gave yourself away! you ate steak tartare "ONCE" somewhere in some 3rd rate reataurant in the good ol' USA and it was CRAP. You ate HAMBURGER NOT steak tartare & now YOU ARE AN EXPERT ON STEAK TARTARE....NOT. You have NEVER EATEN REAL STEAK TARTARE but by the ARROGANT IGNORANT GAS you are belching out, it's clear have eaten yourself really FULL of a lot of cra..
That's awesome news.. looking forward to seeing the continuing adventures. thanks for putting up the videos and letting be a part of your lives while sailing around the world. Take care and be safe.
Cheers to you all clearly smoother sailing faster speeds twice the hulls extra engine and twice the storage for pasta eww, we your fan's will enjoy it having lived vicariously through sailing adventures many kudos .. enjoy and thanks for the adventures ..George
No company "gives away" products of this value without something in return. We don't know the details but perhaps this is a Marketing Stunt and if it is, get ready to be bombarded by Outremer biased reviews and up-sales promotions. It might just alter the flavour or actually taint the innocent vlogs that we've become accustomed to in the past.
A) Nobody said they are getting a free boat. You are assuming that. They said a 'million dollar deal' which I take in a figurative sense. (outremer 45 is not even a million dollar yacht). And yes, I assume they'll be doing some cross promotions like showing up a yacht shows and regattas and holding blue water seminars, etc. B) Everyone talks up their own boat. Delos->Amel, Wynns->Leopard, Tasha & Ryan->Fountaine Pajot, etc etc.
LIX 59, I am sorry to have used a turn of phrase that so offends you! By inference I meant... a Marketing Exercise. No need to be so patronising. FYI, I was so successful I retired at 48 years of age and could buy at least 3 Outremer 45's in cash if I chose. I look forward to the adventures of La Vagabonde II?
Riley and Elayna, I only wish you all the best & safe journey and I am sure the "deal" was too good to pass up. But, not knowing the full details....speculation is all we have. Hope you don't have to down a huge plate of Steak Tartare to seal the deal LOL
You are in a minority group of pioneers in this genre. You have earned and deserve the oportunities afforded to you. Well done! I couldn't be happier for you both. I, for one, am selfishly looking forward to follow-on videos from your new boat/home. You are an inspiration. Happy Sailing!
Congratulations! Couldn't have happened to just anyone! (or nicer people) I've watched your vids for a couple years now! I'm also a world traveler/sailor. I've been to Perth & the Fremantle area of W.A. & they were the nicest, most hospitable & friendliest people I met in the world. Rock on with La Vagabonde & fair winds.
First of all Congrats, however when I saw your Patreon income per video get up to the equivalent of $30,000 per month I figured something was gonna take place. Could well be from the comments below that several subscribers are just too jealous to deal with it, so subscriber retention on TH-cam could slow somewhat from long time subscribers, however that will soon be offset with new subscribers on your new boat and traveling series. Most people I think, like me, love both of your personalities and the way you put videos together. You will continue to be a success if you are traditional in your values and don't get "Big Heads". PS: Don't turn it into a Outremer infomercial.
Congratulations on getting a great yacht! I only watch TH-cam channels where the sailing couple uses a catamaran. "Chasing the story" (FP44) is my favourite followed by "Off The Starboard Hull"(Lagoon 400 S2) because of their boats. I'm getting a Fountaine-Pajot 47 and will also begin following this channel, this couple has gained a new subscriber. Again you two... Congrats.
I absolutely love you guys and if anyone deserves to make it big off of youtube and documenting all your trials, tribulations, journey through the world and growth as a couple its you guys!!! Congratulations! love you guys!
I'm lost... this company gave you a boat? You're renting it? You're leasing it to buy? Not sure why you're being vague about it. Anyway, that's a whole lot more flat space than you had with La Vagabonde!
if anyone follows CaseyNeistat, in his recent video he got bumped to a 23k seat on his flight home, who knows why. but the whole video is pretty much like a free advert for the airline! with his huge following, that advert gets seen millions of time, for a company to pay for that kind of exposure would cost just as much as the seat ( which was empty prior to him filling it ) he got for his flight home. i have the same feeling that something similar is in play here, the company will knock a bunch off the asking price, and in return the company will be exposed to the niche that SLV has boosting their own advertising, its a trade off pretty much. freakishly awesome new boat, freakishly awesome advert for the company!
I think this is an awesome idea. They would make a lot more money this way. I would pay $50 or even a $100 for a ticket to win the boat. Even if I didn't win I would know it would be going to a good cause.
Was a aussie couple who successfully raffled off thier resort in micronesia recently. Couldnt sell it i spose. Created a huge buzz they get what they wanted. And now someone is taken over a life of being a resort owner. Cool shizits!
Congrats I guess, but it does rather seem as if you've sold out. I mean, who's going to send $5 or $10 per episode to support the dreams of someone sailing around in a million dollar yacht? I could relate to someone who saved up $100,000 to buy a boat (just as I did to buy my Ericson 38), and who might appreciate donations to keep the dream alive. But not when you're either rich (earning over $7000/episode from the Patrons) or functioning as a publicity stunt for a builder.
Well it's all a matter of perspective really. For me a 100.000 dollars is something I might not earn in a life time on my 380 euro teachers salary. So for me there is no difference between a 100.000 dollar boat and a 1 mill. dollar cat. they are both a fortune away from me.
I think the jury's still out. All they've really done is post a poorly titled video. Me personally, I'm still looking forward to the video regarding the details of their agreement. It is a lot of money, after all... so there has to be strings. Then again... Maybe the arrangement will give them more and better access? Maybe it will give them an opportunity to be more charitable? Maybe they can play a part in designing better yachts and accessories? Maybe they can help shine a light on 2016 safety concerns? Maybe they can help teach teens and young adults how to sail, fish, snorkel, spear, cook, film, edit, and play the guitar? ... Then again, maybe they going to start posting interviews of one-percenters during yachting regattas. ... One thing's for sure... It took them years to create a loyal and generous fan-base. And all it will take are a few poor choices to make them all sail away.
I have a friend on patreon, you don't get anywhere near what the website says. It's very deceiving much like the title of this video. This could mean anything. Free cat, free loan, discounted cat or a mixture of all of them. Until I start seeing the videos change, I think I'm going to hold off from judging them.
Just watched a couple of video on the Outremer 45 and I want one they look fantastic .And a 17 day Atlantic crossing awesome .You guys are going to have a blast .Looking forward to how this story develops on the new boat
I recently discovered your videos after a trip to the beach and watching the sail boats leaving the harbor and I thought to myself how wonderful it's would be to sail around the world. I'm enjoying watching your videos and I am happy for your success.
Name it La Vagabonde of course, not La Vagabonde 2, that is dumb. The dutch girl Dekker has named all her boats "Guppy". And nothing with cat in it either, that is also dumb.
"A huge thanks to those subscribers who have been following since the beginning" I've only began following since halfway, guess i dont get a thanks :( FeelsBadMan
G'day, Elayna & Riley! A nice big, congratulations on getting the 45 foot cat! "The OUTREMER 45 is a reference for high speed addicts and is still considered as one of the most interesting Cat of this generation." I do agree, you guys have to keep the name… La Vagabonde ll Thank you, Cheers! :-)
seriously guys how many times can someone win the lottery. But I am a little worried about you two loosing control of your adventure as strings might be attatched to you on this deal as I was bought up to beleive nothing is free in this life. But it may just be great advertising for the cat company for you two as you have great coverage and the look aswell. I say go with your heart but dont switch your brain off and get some sort of contract for whats expected of you at least. I love your adventures and your story so dont change to much..good luck.
paul fackrell what do you say to the person who works for minimum wage? These two are getting paid a nice lifestyle...for making what's 15 min of content every 7 days...he's a sailor and she's comfortable & great in front of the cam...I think they got matters under THEIR control imo...what's more isn't the title clear enough for you...they've never used such wording for views before.
I watch your channel because you guys inspire us regular folks who want to go cruising. It makes it seem possible to untie the lines and even circumnavigate. This deal you've made is great news but it eliminates the whole encouragement side of your channel which for people like me is what keeps me watching. Those of us who can't afford multi-hulls want to see sailing being done with single hulls we can all potentially afford to buy - we want to know what happens when things fail, and how you fix them... if you guys have a brand new boat with a "deal" we're going to lose a huge part of how you guys actually SAIL... am I right?
Such a bull crap jealous comment. Haters gonna hate. They've circled the world in a single hull so you can "see how it is" by going back and re watching.
Ridiculous. How about the story of progress. Work hard, save money, buy sailboat with little knowledge, meet girl, travel around, start vlogging, gain following, sail around world, gain larger following, meet new people (some of which have connections), get some sort of great opportunity because of what you've accomplished and who you've met along the way. Nah, we should all remain stagnant in our lives.
Trust me bud, I'm no hater, I love these guys and I'm happy for them. I'm not jealous, just surprised - one of my favorite channels is about to change completely. - It's a great opportunity, sure but it;s like in the music business when a band signs a record deal, their music always changes... becomes more main stream.
I'll raise a beer and a praise to your safe voyages... such good news. such worthy recipients. thank you for sharing the world with us all. merci...merci
Awesome! I don't get the envious comments at all. You guys are living with a positive attitude and life is being great to you. That's so inspiring. Keep rocking guys!
Yes, we sort of go from "I quit my job, bought an affordable yacht, started sailing the world, eating fish I catch diving and fishing ... come along and see what happens"... a dream that connects with people from all over the world....to "I sail a Million Dollar Catamaran around the globe without a job or care in the world"...which is sort of not a possibility for 99.99% of the audience. It changes the entire premise of the channel. Is Sailing Everlong the new La Vagabonde?
Lol. Just because its unbelivable does not make it true. Although you are kind of right.... what do you expect them to do? Turn down a free boat? Would you do it? Ofcourse not man. I want to see people succeed in they'r dreams, do not feel you could not do it as well.
+ot0m0t0 Exactly! And they've been having troubles with autopilot and a lot of other things on the boat so I'm sure they would've had to change at some point.
No, the whole premise of the trip changes now, along the lines of what Chris L says, above. I would've stopped following if they took up charter boat work or pro fishing guiding too. It's just not the same kind of trip. Good luck to them, it's great for them and exciting and a whole new world, just not the kind of journey I'm interested in, that's all.
Congratulations!!! You deserve it!! Found your channel 3 days ago and have binge watched all your videos!!! Can't wait to see you on the new boat. Be safe!!
Good for you. I've enjoyed viewing your videos. That new boat is going to be a significant change in style. I would bet it will take some getting used to. Best of (continued) luck. I look forward to your continuing (and my vicarious) trip!
MATES!! Switching over to the dark side?! hahaaha congratulations guys! Can't wait to share and anchorage some day :)
Seriously, I'm looking for some sailing caravans? Multiple boats, long journey, content from multiple angles. I'm waiting..would you trade old la vegabonde for a Winnebago? Our family is looking to move to a sailboat!
I love your channel too.
Delos and Vagabonde on the same video :-) now that would be cool !
You guys should try to get the new Amel 55. All the haters would go berserk.
Wonderful news. Cant wait to see the new boat.
so awesome, you've made it
Are you apprehensive about starting all over again?
***** Would love to have you on the podcast to talk about your new boat or anything else you would like to speak about. Congratulations! I'm sure it is an awesome boat!
What type of catamaran is it, a 45 what?
outremer 45 I believe. great news guys. just started following and looking at cats to take my family (wife and two little ones) on world adventures and to share my love of the ocean. will appreciate your feedback on advantages/ disadvantages relative to your monohull experience.
No-one is stopping them from watching the old videos on a loop.
La Vegaboned ll because you have two hulls now
Nailed it. Pathetic really. Congratulations you two!
Never limit yourself.
Saying it right now to myself.
Congrats guys, I can't wait to see the future episodes.
Same here, Congratulations!!!!!!
So happy for you guys! You definitely deserve it. I hope you will be able to keep La Vegabonde in the new name. Not sure about sea traditions but that name is such a big part of who you are.
Wow that's awesome! Congrats guys. Name it La Vagabonde II BTW!
Yes, the name should continue...
Cheers you guys and congratulations again
Skipper Sully
Also - I just finished watching all of your videos. They are honest and enjoyable. And getting better with each chapter. Cheers!
Wow! And I was excited when Cubic Mini Wood Stoves sent me a free wood stove to review on my channel. But this? THIS... is amazing! Congratulations.
Not certain that Outremer GAVE them a boat. Haven't actually heard those words from R and E.
I think The Vagabonde 2 would be a good one.
Or " the BondeBonde " ; )
"Harambe" would be a good name !
Since the sponsor is French Le Vagabonde would be more appropriate
2 is good. Maybe La Vagabonde Cat.
Nope It's: Le Vagabond, La Vagabonde
I just watched the factory guided tour of the OUTREMER 45 on TH-cam. It is a beautiful boat! Three bedrooms and two bathrooms sounds like a house. Having 2 engines sounds like a great safety consideration as well. I doubt that you guys will get the three refrigerator option that the boat in the factory video had. LOL Congratulations again! Chris
La Vagabonde ll
Naw, how about Voice of the Sea? SeaVox? Damn that's good. ;) Feel free guys haha!
How about just Vagabonde or Vagabond
Well done Guys! Shows where a dream can lead if you work at it.
A very well deserved reward. You've been an inspiration for many, not just for sailing, but following your dreams and hitting your goals. I'm glad you'll have somewhere more spacious, but most of all, more stable. I can't bare to see any more meals falling on the floor! Congratulations guys.
omg I'm so happy for you guys that is awesome catamaran so cool! okay how much for your boat ;)
a name is something only you two can pick out that means the most to you :)
Awesome news! When you get your new boat you should go on the PKA podcast again. Love your stuff.
yessssss, please come on again guys, you were fantastic :)
Definitely go on PKA again. You guys were great guests.
+Gamertag Woody haha yes!
Nothing but 100% awesome! God Bless you both and happy safe seas!
What everyone is missing is.....They pick up the Cat in France....And have to start all over again going round the world. I can't wait!!! Congrats Rileyna!!!✌🏼️
smiles, don't think anyone missed it, no one made a point of it...obvious !...it's just a shame it's a CAT !
Well now they can hit islands and atolls they missed the first time around. So I'm guessing they have to port La Vagabonde and try and get her sold before February.
Bob Fox God would give to the poor... Not cater to the wealthy
Nice one guys, now you will learn what speed is.and a boat that does heel over at top speed,
hearty congratulations - well deserved you two.
Maybe someday we'll meet =)
- Still a landlubber...
Whats going to happen to the La Vagabonde when you guys get your new boat???
They'll probably sell it I:
they should give it away to pass on the fortune
Where would they list it though? We can't just let a boat like the La Vagabonde float away
Perhaps they could have a raffle?!
Omg it's an effing palace!!!! Congrats. That's in sane! Can't wait to see you moved in to that baby! Sweeeeet!!!!!
Just realized Ive been following this channel from the beginning. Two years... man, time goes fast.
You should do a video comparing the two boats and what you like/dislike about both. Would be interesting :)
Video's been up 20 hours and the haters have ensued! Jealousy waits for no man. I say heck with that nonsense, ...good on ya both for living your dream! As for the name, ...trust your instincts. It's always done you well. Fair winds and following seas!
Hey, I think it's great that they're living their dream. That's why everyone is watching. Just don't expect us to help pay for it anymore.
Besley, you need a snickers. You're not yourself when you're hungry.
Honestly, it'd be easy to get a little jealous of this deal, if people don't know the lengths Riley, and eventually Elayna, went through to get to this point. In the grand scheme of things, the Cosmic Forces are with them.
***** Well, yeah, there's that! But when you run across a woman like that, I just take all that as a given.;)
Let me start by saying congratulations to the both of you.
Lets see, last week you had a fishing pole stolen, and this week you're getting a new boat..................I'd say that's a damn good trade.
As the french say "Sail La V" ;)
Bond.....LaVagabonde.
I like yours better though. It fits so well.
very clever word smithery
The V might be read more as a five than a vee.
Hey, well done guys.
And keep the videos coming.
CONGRATS!!!!! Fan-fu*#ing-tastic news - you two definitely deserve it!!
Hey Guys, good luck with your new boat and new adventures in it. You Deserve it, You have given thousands of people around the world a great view into your life and your ups and downs of life at sea.
It's definitely changed everything , I would be curious to see the contract. It will have lots of commercial content for sure.
3 years later, it hasn’t changed anything.
I have been watching your videos for too long - I knew you were thinking it😀 LOL
I thought you said the CEO's daughter ordered a bowl of mints.
....reading comments....
Oh, mince. That makes more sense.
Haha. Me too. I thought it was a little weird to order a bowl of mints with a raw egg. :D
haha same here
She ordered a steak tartare. Pretty common for French people.
This is always a business, was always a business, and as a business need to be treated (even if it doesn't seem like business from the outside) :-)
Good luck to you Riley and Elayna.
Nothing more than you both deserve. Congratulations. You've followed your dream and look where it's led. Amazing. Good on you both.
Whoa! Little jealous here.
Time to trade in your Dodge for a sailboat.
XCater Steve !!
that couldn't have happened to a more well deserved couple. what's going to happen to you boat when you get a new one?
Congratulations! A CAT will give you scads more room...more stability etc..I look forward to a long demo video LOL
I think they had a great marketing idea by giving you the cat. :)
Watching this got me looking at Beneteau or Catalina 28's as a future boat so it already worked.
Doug Northcote
Haha...
Doug Northcote
Agreed.
I'm confused too. I'd guess that they are getting to use the boat in exchange for the exposure the company will get through their videos.
Judging by the name of the video it sounds like French dude is hooking them up, possibly for advertising his company to their large audience.
" We love you! Stay tuned for the full story coming THIS FRIDAY. Love, Elayna & Riley."
Full story is coming out on friday
SO PUMPED FOR YOU GUYS! You deserve it.
"eating bait...ugh!"
Calling STEAK TARTARE "mince" is like calling champagne "sprite"...
Wow that was actually very educational for me coz I literally imagined mince eaten raw haha but tartare sounds deeeeelicious
It really isn't. Not surprisingly it's a lot like raw mince
And here I thought she was saying "mints"! I didn't know if it was candy mints, or the plant. You learn something every day. "Mince" it is.
So did you buy it, or is this a sponsorship deal?
That's awesome news.. looking forward to seeing the continuing adventures. thanks for putting up the videos and letting be a part of your lives while sailing around the world. Take care and be safe.
Cheers to you all clearly smoother sailing faster speeds twice the hulls extra engine and twice the storage for pasta eww, we your fan's will enjoy it having lived vicariously through sailing adventures many kudos .. enjoy and thanks for the adventures ..George
Call her 'La Vagabond Too'
No company "gives away" products of this value without something in return. We don't know the details but perhaps this is a Marketing Stunt and if it is, get ready to be bombarded by Outremer biased reviews and up-sales promotions. It might just alter the flavour or actually taint the innocent vlogs that we've become accustomed to in the past.
Time will tell, don't you think?
"Marketing Stunt", it's called marketing, obviously you've never owned or run a business yourself with that comment.
Man......dont get to famous:) keep it simple. dont let fame and fortune destroy who you are as a couple
Riley - we're giving away our VW Bus on our channel - maybe you should give away La Vaga to one of your subs? ;)
ahh actually proper chuffed for you guys
Anyway, that's a whole lot more flat space than you had with La Vagabonde!
they are getting it (free) but probably with some requirements as part of the companies promotion campaign..
probably a discount definitely not free. a free million dollar boat lol
Maybe they aren't allowed to release exactly what conditions they are under, if any. Why's it matter though?
Me to. I missed something somewhere.
if anyone follows CaseyNeistat, in his recent video he got bumped to a 23k seat on his flight home, who knows why. but the whole video is pretty much like a free advert for the airline! with his huge following, that advert gets seen millions of time, for a company to pay for that kind of exposure would cost just as much as the seat ( which was empty prior to him filling it ) he got for his flight home. i have the same feeling that something similar is in play here, the company will knock a bunch off the asking price, and in return the company will be exposed to the niche that SLV has boosting their own advertising, its a trade off pretty much. freakishly awesome new boat, freakishly awesome advert for the company!
I would like to buy a $100.00 ticket to win La Vagabonde......Cheers
raffle would be cool for the fans!
Hope you don't use that dumb logic to cast your vote

I vote for Boaty McBoatface
i know that boat name for some reason??
Name it La Vagabonde of course, not La Vagabonde 2, that is dumb. The dutch girl Dekker has named all her boats "Guppy". And nothing with cat in it either, that is also dumb.
La Vagabonde is your brand. Do not forget that.
I would say the beautiful , very charming Aussie lass ELAYNA.....Love that girl...
"A huge thanks to those subscribers who have been following since the beginning" I've only began following since halfway, guess i dont get a thanks :( FeelsBadMan
Next time don't cheat on your bike races and then lie about it and you'll get a proper thanks.
LOLOLOLOL
pk13910 Ayye man i only have one nut cant you give a man a break.
G'day, Elayna & Riley! A nice big, congratulations on getting the 45 foot cat! "The OUTREMER 45 is a reference for high speed addicts and is still considered as one of the most interesting Cat of this generation."
I do agree, you guys have to keep the name… La Vagabonde ll
Thank you,
Cheers! :-)
Congrats you guys!!! You are a great example of what happens when you follow your dream! Happy for you and can't wait for new episodes.
seriously guys how many times can someone win the lottery.
Although everyone is assuming it, the word free was never mentioned.
pk13910 ya think the title of the vid has anything to do with that assumption...you took their use of the word "free" literally.
paul fackrell what do you say to the person who works for minimum wage? These two are getting paid a nice lifestyle...for making what's 15 min of content every 7 days...he's a sailor and she's comfortable & great in front of the cam...I think they got matters under THEIR control imo...what's more isn't the title clear enough for you...they've never used such wording for views before.
Justin nitsuj I take the title figuratively.
How would they be able to make that kind of money, youtube gave them???? they are bought of now, they should tell what's behind the deal.
AGREE!! It's not a boat anymore, it's a party palace!
Damn, if only I was better looking and an extrovert.
I'll raise a beer and a praise to your safe voyages... such good news. such worthy recipients. thank you for sharing the world with us all. merci...merci
Awesome! I don't get the envious comments at all. You guys are living with a positive attitude and life is being great to you. That's so inspiring. Keep rocking guys!
Pathetic and narrow minded people be gone. This is amazing news. Congrats you two!!
Im sure the comments would be much different if Elaina wasn't so attractive
*****
they seam grateful and obviously are lucky, but they deserve it, so many jealous comments here.
Oh. I'm kinda disappointed.
"jealous" is the word you're looking for.
