Really appreciate the in depth video. Ironically enough after researching zero turns for weeks I hadn’t quite come across one as detailed with the new model. Just purchased my 42inch today and discovering that the transmissions are serviceable is a huge bonus.
I have a Ariens 2022 Ikon XD 52 Limited Edition and love it. They are who makes Gravely and they run just a bit cheaper in price with the exact same features. Just a different color scheme. I was going to get the Gravely but my dealership didnt have one with the Kawi motor so I got the Ikon and with it being the Limited Edition it had more upgrades then the Gravely at the same price. Still this is a nice upgrade over the 2022 model. I would say the only thing I have seen with this version is that the gas cap is to far forward and is prone to being hit by branches and other objects. I know 2 people who have damaged their gas tanks to the point that they had to be replaced. Over $400 for that. On the 2022 models this wasn't an issue because the gas fill cap was back further and protected..But everything else is very nice upgrades.
Man, I got my ZT X back in 2019 and this is such an improvement over mine. The one thing that almost kept me from buying were the non-serviceable hydros. Looks like the deck is much improved too. As far as the deck height adjuster goes, honestly, I liked the older version where you changed it with the foot peddle and turn knob, but that's just me I guess. It's been a nice mower so far. Oh, and the Kawa engine is great.
Just took delivery of mine love it tires are an issue also Should have a grass blocker for the 42 inch cut unit. Looking to build my own would rather buy one from gravely. Not too impressed with the dealer I purchased it from kind of I don’t care attitude over all good purchase
Do you know if the pully misalignment issue was fixed for the 2023 models? Ive been seeing alot of complaints about the gravely and ariens coming with one of the belt pullys misaligned causing it to break belts within just a couple of hours of use.
We haven't seen a belt issue with one of these in several years. They have incorporated the X Factor deck into all of their models and that seems to have been a great improvement.
Gravely offers financing through Yard Card (TD Retail Financing) and Sheffield, you can apply online or at the dealership. Most of the time there will be 0% financing options available as well.
I think for a budget option to start out its more durable (deck, serviceable transmissions) than the competitors in the category. If you have the extra coin about another 1k will get you into the ZT XL series and that gives you fully serviceable transmissions, on top of a few other add-ons. If not be vigilant with keeping up on the fluid in the ZT X transmissions. Both will cut just as well as the other.
It is a well designed mower, and I purchased one for myself but, and this is a huge issue, what was Gravely and Ariens thinking in putting these tires on such good mowers? Absolutely useless in any type of damp condition, especially with dew which sometimes sticks around until early afternoon. Any bit of an incline and the tires will slip and spin. I ended up returning that mower. I have a 4 year old Pro Turn Z 60 as well and love that mower. These tires are definitely not turf tires. That was the only disappointment. I loved the video however.
Thanks for the comment, I've received feedback that these tires to much better with horizontal stability than the traditional tires, however I can see how damp conditions will cause less than desirable results. A big factor to take into consideration is the Pro-turn Z is almost 300 lbs heavier than the ZT X which contributes a lot to better stability and traction. I appreciate all the feedback, it only helps us to better educate our customers.
I haven't run into that issue before, however I would assume that either your rubber grommet that the pin on the access door clips into is worn or the door is misshaped causing torque on the pin not allowing it to sit properly. Its also pretty easy on that door to get the ears on the opposite side out of position cause the door to not seat properly as well.

What brand and model did you get?
Great review. Thank you sir

Ok thank you for the reassurance, this model is definitely at the top of my list.
Probably as simple as those who assembled it didn’t know you had to align them
How do you pay for these? Recommend a financing institution?

What do you think on this unit for light residnetial lawn service?

How do you keep the deck access panel locked down? Mine continuously pops open from vibration when cutting.

@@mikesandsonsPI Its a brand new mower and door/rubber. I wondered also if the door or hinge is mis shaped?
@@adamdufrene2947 If its new then I expect its a misshaped door/hinge.
@@mikesandsonsPI thanks for the info
What length blades does it use???
