  • David is in a mission to make his recent purchase - 2004 Lexus SC 430 - better than when it was new. In order to achieve this lofty goal, David has turned to his usual detailer, Unique Detailing (www.uniquedetailing.ca), to get this project going. Kurtis Martin (owner) will perform a full re-conditioning of David's precious SC 430 that includes clay bar cleaning, polishing, wet-sanding, and finally applying the graphine coating. David and Kurtis explain every step in detail in this fascinating video. Note that this is not a promotional video as David is paying for this work and he is showcasing this project because he believes that Unique Detailing is the best house in Vancouver to do this task.

David, This SC 430 is really nice. Please ask Kurtis about the fabulous 1978 Plymouth Fury/Dodge Monaco we see in the background throughout the video . 🤩

I own a 2002 black SC430 with just over 32,700 miles. I don't drive it often but every time I do, I ask myself why I don't drive it more often.

These are great cars. No electronic nannies, it starts with a KEY, my local Toyota specialist can work on it (Toyota Soarer), its built to a very high standard, and it is dependable, unlike certain German cars which shall remain anonymous.

Congrats on the SC! The long lost / under appreciated cousin to the LC (and LFA).
David should do a mashup / collab with Ivan (also Canadian) from DIY Detail.
For the leather my unsolicited recommendation, I really like Dr. Beasley’s leather cleaner and conditioner.

DIDN’T REALIZE YOU PURCHASED USED. I JUST PURCHASED SC 430 SILVER WITH SADDLE INTERIOR TOO WITH 66K MILES. WHAT TYPE OF LEATHER CLEANER WAS HE GOING TO USE THAT RETAINS ORIGINAL SATIN SHEEN AS OPPOSED TO WET GLOSSY LOOK? REGARDS.

There's some good Tuber's out there that I follow that might answer your question. Car Craft Auto Detailing, Ammo NYC, Pan the Organizer, Apex Detail,Obsessed Garage. If their channels cannot answer your question, I doubt there's anyone else who can?! They all give solid proper detail advice IMO!

Lexus cars were slightly wet sanded in Japan to remove any orange peel. Older Corvettes used to have very bad orange peel.

    Hi David,
My favorite was the last year of the SC 430. I think it was 2011 I wish I had the money at the time to purchase it to me that was like VLC 500 is today if that makes any sense… This is very exciting to see this car getting this work done. I can’t wait to see the final product. Thank you DAVID for all your hard work and bringing it to the world. 🇯🇵🤍❤️
