Oh so I can’t just throw off all my virtual passengers and cargo and refuse to refund them?
😂😂😂
Call the virtual police if they refuse to get off. Then post wobbly virtual videos onto virtual social media of them virtually arguing before being arrested and thrown into virtual prison (which I assume is probably on a Mac somewhere).
As a long tenured Airliner Flight Dispatcher or Flight planner + Flight watcher for you European folks. This videos are great for the community. All kinds of strategies are done real world to maximize range, payload, minimize diversion risk, alternate selection, alternate requirements etc, This is only just scratching the surface too. Good stuff as always!
“We can carry some of the people all of the way, or all of the people some of the way” - A320 captain on a flight across the US expecting significant headwinds
“For those seeking a refund, please step outside.”
Another video full of great information. Not being a real life pilot, but enjoying a higher level of detail in the sim, your videos are so beneficial. You answer so many questions throughout the knowledge that you share. Thanks
Thanks! I like it very much. You are discussing topics nobody else is considering, I really appreciate the insights.
l love flying Headwind's A330-900NEO, but also been flying their ACJ for those extremely long longhaul trips! Thank you for the tips!
Nice on, as usual.
Really, really loved this one Emi. A true step into the insights of flight planning and one that truly bridges the gap between real life and simming.
I’m looking at simbrief differently after some of your last videos.
Your seven variables to play around with, when you encounter "Flight Exceeds Range":
- FUEL
- PAYLOAD
- ALTITUDE
- ALTERNATE
- ROUTE
- SPEED
- SCHEDULE (TIME OF DAY)
Great video, Emi! Is what you were describing as your last FP modification what I have known as re-dispatch?
You can always adjust MAX CARGO WEIGHT or more specific adjusting cargo capacity in Aircraft settings :) in many VAs you can find that number around 1500 - 3000 kgs which can help a bit :) if you are Ryanair you wouldn't carry so many extra cargo i think . But anyway great tutorial .I used to get this warning every time I wanted to take longer summer flights w 737/a320 :))
That assumes you were carrying cargo in the first place. If you aren't, removing it would be a little challenging to do.
Spreading that 78 tons over a high density area after takeoff single engine out will be fun ..
You just do an overweight landing, our aircraft don’t even have a fuel jettison system installed. The A330 can be landed without any problems all the way up to the MTOW, even with an engine out.
Don't the A330-200's have the centre tank enabled as standard? Thought it was just the -300 that it became optional
Very interesting, thanks! For some of the regular routes flown at the extreme range of the aircraft, what do they do on the exceptional days where the headwind is so strong and they can’t make it? Let’s say, to make it more difficult, a long flight over the pacific.
Either bump cargo or passengers or plan a fuel stop.
That you going back to Punta Cana right now?
Are there any resources available to determine what the "approved" contingency procedures are for a given airline (when you don't work for the actual airline)?
No public ones that I would know of
How accurate is this compared to Flight Simulator? It's one thing what Simbrief calculates but what's the guarantee that it will work out exactly like that in a simulator / add-on?
That would depend on how accurate the SimBrief profile is relative to the aircraft you're flying and how the weather actually pans out during the flight. If you have stronger than forecast headwinds, you'll end up burning more fuel than what is planned.
So this is why a certain national Australian airline always delays the arrival of your luggage - hope I am joking! Did I detect a slight head cold - if so get well soon.
