I was working at Trichy forty years ago, We used to get visitors from Soviet Union in those days. I used to take them to Mahabaliipuram for sight seeing. Whlie we were there ,I could see small kids of around 10 years
age on the streets selling trinkets to foreigners. When they see the Russian visitors, they used to shout in Russian. Hey ! come here ! These things are only forty rupees ! Buy them here! My Russian friends used to get surprised and go to these kids and buy things from them. !
I asked one of those kids as to where they learnt Russian language. He replied ,"Oh! nothing big! We learnt them by observing these tourists while talking and picked up few words ! we can also talk in German and French the same way!
That shows the capacity of necessity ! But for these Dravidian Chauvinists , we can learn many languages quite easily ! Sridharan.

S. We worked at Kalpakkam. The shop owners, sellers use to sell veggies & other things to the different people in their own different languages. We used to wonder & we also learnt. It was a mini Barath. Children also use to learn many languages from their friends.
