This knife, or other medium to small fixed blades, propably on the small of your back attacked to your belt...easily concealed with a variety of cloths but still easy to get to...
I appreciate your reviews, I nearly got mugged the other day and all I had was my Gerber folder and it made me seriously question having a folder for self defense. Just pulling it out saved my ass but if I had to use it, I would want something most substantial.
A knife will just get you shit. Never pull a knife on anyone that is robbing you. Just do what they tell you to. If you have a gun and can get the drop in them it's a different story.
I've worn this often, and frankly, it's not at all too big as a neck knife. I shortened the chain "slightly" and it carries very comfortably. Very easy getting used to it. It looks more uncomfortable than is actually carries. Give it a try.
I can't believe the criticisms of this knife, apparently from non-owners. I own one, and its a great knife, and works quite well as a neck knife. It's an emergency knife if you end up needing one, and frankly, I feel better when it's on me. For comfort, just cut the bead chain so it rests just below where your rib cage narrows.
I took a Dremel tool and removed the pinky finger ring and turned the lanyard slot, near the index finger hole, into 2 sharp prongs by removing the bridge section of metal. I also put an edge on the back of the blade (karambit). No problem with retention on kydex sheath with pinky hole removed. I also have the adapter for belt carry. I agree with you on size being to big for neck knife. Weight is also an issue due to the fact it can fall out.
+HustleKings Entertainment (HustleKings357) I wish I could but someone must have needed it more than me because they snatched it off the sun visor of my truck. I've got another one but haven't had the time to do the customizing. I might make it my first you tube vid. It's not difficult if you have a Dremel tool and a bench grinder. It wasn't a super professional job. More for function. Someone else who's handier at knife making and has better equipment could do a better job of sanding and polishing to make it look more professional.
Its just that there is no support it woudl be better if I had a vice to lock one end into or another person to hold it out for me...the fold over is the easiest way to do it in this case...
There is one big question that no reviewer addressed and that is: How fast can you pass your fingers through those holes and grip the knife in a defensive situation? Because that's the problem with knives with knuckle dusters. They are too slow to grip. Now this knife is something of a semi knuckle duster knife since it has two holes so it will be a lot faster to grip than a knuckle duster knife but the question remains. How fast is to grip? Granted after you grip it's a very solid grip.
Saw your comments on Iraqvet8888 on how to hide guns from the wife then saw your channel. When i saw your review about this knife, I was already on amazon, buying one. Thanks for sharing!
How has the sheath held up now??? I like the versatility of this blade. Many self defense options and the thick back to chop wood. Gr8 little otdoors knife too it appears. Im going to order now. I couldnt decide between the moni bowie or this one but this helped final nail in the coffin . Thx
Hell, I would love to be able to carry some form of defensive weapon. Even if it is only CS or an ASP baton I would still like to have to option to defend myself. The way I see it is that it is nobody elses decision to what means I can go to to protect myself.
Great mid size neck Knife, have it for 10 years...held up very well...good to have as a back up. Once you get uesd to neck carry, hard to really notice it. No one will pull this out your hand, unless they already have you incompacitated...
Its a very thin knife. Depends on what you are going to use it for when camping. It's not that comfortable. It's thin and light (for it's size). It does work the same left or right handed.
I bought a sigtac neck knive for edc.... got some harrasing phone calls saying someone was going to kill me lol so now i carry a 2 knives everywhere... one switchblade and the neck knive.... how should i wear it and what should i stab for!
a tek-lok which is made by bladetech, I ahve a video on them, but you coudl cheaply and eaisly use paracord to amke 2 loops that cna slide onto your belt...the only problem with that is it woudl slide easily back and forth...
Excellent review, I going to be buying one based on your review. What brand and device would you recommend I get for all my knife sharpening needs? Would appreciate some recommendations. Thanks
hey just a suggestion because I'd love to see it and I'd use it often, could you link the knife in the description just in case your viewers want to purchase one? I'd love that feature about your already great channel!
personally i dont really like the fold in haf cutting test like u did in the end with the belts. i liked it better when u hold the belt flat the cut it at an angle. idk why it just gives me a better view of the cutting action. but in this case i understand why because it was a short piece of belt. Good Review. keep em coming
a slash to the forhead will cause extensive bleeding all over the face most likely goign to go into the eyes and if the attacker cant see well then you ahve a BIG upper hand and enough time to get away, BUT it all depend son the situation, and what if any kind of weapon the attacker is using, if he or she is alone, and so on...
Awesome review I picked this knife up on a whim a long time ago and its my edc self defense not a knife I whip out willy nilly (it scares people) it just sits on my hip right side and it jabs me in the side every now and again reminding me that it is there if I need it. Pretty good knife to use to position small springs haha.
Personally, after a few days of EDCing this thing, I got used to the sheath. I've been carrying it for a few months now, and the only issue I can really see is that if you want to conceal carry it, you can't just put it under your shirt, unless you have a jacket or hoodie over it, because it's fairly obvious if you don't. Other than that, a great little neck knife!
14 years later, I chime in: Do you see any potential issue with being able to quickly draw from sheath in a high stress, self-defense scenario vs. something like Kabar TDI law enforcement knife?
Nice review. Couple notes. I like the knife. It really can't be disarmed. Someone will break your fingers before they'll take this knife away and you can still use it with broken fingers. If they tapered the end for the screw driver you want it wouldn't work well in the reverse grip. You could always file it down if ya wanted. A DMT would do it quickly. The thing I don't like about the sheath is that it doesn't have a belt loop. Like you said, just too big for a neck knife. Frank Heiskell
I've been carrying this knife for almost a full year now as a self-defense knife alongside my edc/utility SOG flash 1. The blade itself does cut nicely, but the edge is prone to dulling and I do have miniscule rust spots after it was exposed to rain. For the money I paid for it, I can level almost no criticisms but there are plenty of better blades out there now, like my newest Kershaw Chill which was comparable in price.
Knives for defense will just get you shot. Don't ever pull a knife on someone that is robbing you or trying to hurt you because that's the legal justification for them to put 2 in your chest and 1 in your head.
@Kylef7735 no but while slashing upwards if you got caught beneath the other persons blade, the knife is gonna slide right up and you'll get your thumb taken off.
I disagree with him saying it's too big for a neck knife. Most neck knives are too small and don't have a big enough blade to be an EDC. Many small neck knives can be used as EDC's, but the larger blade is much more preferred to me fore a EDC neck knife. But as far as self defense goes, smaller blades by all means are great. Easier concealment, but just as effective.
I know what your talking about...and yeah it depends on what you want to do, most will want to disarm an attacker, and stop the threat without causing a fatal wound to the attacker, actually the best defenseive move you can do with a knife is stash the face, worse case senario you blind the attacker, but you wont kill him/her...
haha i live in georgia and as long as the blade is smaller then a dollar and the spring dosent pop the blade out (so you cant cut with it while its opening) its legal to carry
@danthedark96 kid, first off, youre smart to always carry a knife and understand that its a tool. your best bets are the spyderco tenacious or benchmade vex, both $20-$30, go with spyderco if given the choice, its got the clip (WHICH IS IMPORTANT!).but, if you can, I would deffinately go for the coldsteel pocket bushman, or kershaw vapor.super sturdy knives, you can always count on em, but CS dealers are hard to find, and both might be a touch more expensive.
thank you so much for this review... now i'm not getting one because its just to skinny for what i wanted it for..great knife.. too bad it isn't how i thought about it..
I've held the Double Agent l, and that's a bad ass knife, you could really hurt someone with that hawkbill blade! it's strictly for self defense, not very good for other tasks. The Double Agent ll, however, is more useful since it's got the clip point blade. I think i might buy one. Thanks for the review!
At about 10:10 you said you wish they would have tapered that edge so you can use it as a screwdriver. Why not do it yourself? It should not be big of a problem. As a matter of fact I guarantee you'll be done with that project in 30 minutes or less if you put your heart to it. :) Thank you for making my decision easier between the Double Agent and the Rat Izula.
according to my marine brother.... if you fight with the blade up (towards the sky), if you get hit hard enough, it will come back at your face and in turn hurt you. you should hold it with the point down, so you can punch easier, and if you get hit or fall, it goes to the ground, not to your face.... i think thats why the hole in the bottom is bigger...
I like the blade shape, the rings are pretty uncomfortable and the jimping has poor traction. .. Cut the bottom of the sheath ring for easier deployment Good cheap backup but wouldn't use as primary anything
Hey can some one help me I am just a poor 15 year old kid who always carrys a knife not to show off but because i have had many different jobs that require me to have a knife, I am looking for a good sturdy folder thats not too expensive but is nice looking to add to my edc setup i really don't like the skeleton type knifes i just want a solid looking knife just a single blade, some one please help.
I like the sheath as it can be challenging to remove the knife if one does not have prior knowledge of the quirks. Making the sheath resistant to theft. Carry? Put zip ties through the holes. In the waist band!? I shaped small scrap steel rod into a U to make the clip, next I bent it to make the clip (U) ride higher on the holster, then bent it to attach into the sheath holes. I mostly use it as a neck knife now don't walk out of the house with it too much. Peeerfect for springs dammit!
This knife, or other medium to small fixed blades, propably on the small of your back attacked to your belt...easily concealed with a variety of cloths but still easy to get to...
The holes in the sheath are perfect for making it a scout (horizontal) carry style sheath
I appreciate your reviews, I nearly got mugged the other day and all I had was my Gerber folder and it made me seriously question having a folder for self defense. Just pulling it out saved my ass but if I had to use it, I would want something most substantial.
***** cool, thanks.
Holy crap dude that must of scared the living hell out of u
Seth VanHorn yeah, especially since it was two guys and I was alone.

Picked up a double agent 1 serrated today at the CS parking lot sale. The ONLY benefit of California.
I've had one for a few years now, never had a single issue with it. Great review
This knife would be PERFECT if the sheath had a belt attachment option!
What he said I bought them super cool.
Would this be considered brass knuckles in Canada? (illegal)
Great question! I was wondering the same thing in USA.
I use my Double Agent 2 working on my fishing boat. Neck knifes work great when you live and work in swim shorts on the ocean.
could'nt the second finger hole go into the little button part
I wonder if there would be any legality issues with the knife, like brass knucks
The advantage of the karambit model is right there at 12:05 with the hawkbill the blade catches whatever you cut so theres no slip
@alex399r You are seriously thinking that in a knife fight, you will have enough dexterity to block another knife with the knife you are wielding?
I can't believe the criticisms of this knife, apparently from non-owners. I own one, and its a great knife, and works quite well as a neck knife. It's an emergency knife if you end up needing one, and frankly, I feel better when it's on me. For comfort, just cut the bead chain so it rests just below where your rib cage narrows.
I have one it’s pretty handy, would make a good dive knife
Used a Kevlar shoelace to tie some loops in the sheath for a belt
They also make clip ons either way!
I took a Dremel tool and removed the pinky finger ring and turned the lanyard slot, near the index finger hole, into 2 sharp prongs by removing the bridge section of metal. Do you think there are holes drilled out under the rubber grip?
@MazzazzK yeah i wonder the same..... how many knives do you have in total anyways? (folders, fixed, etc.)
Great mid size neck Knife, have it for 10 years...held up very well...good to have as a back up. Once you get uesd to neck carry, hard to really notice it. No one will pull this out your hand, unless they already have you incompacitated...

which style would be more effective for defense, karambit or clip point?
karambit
the nice thing about this knife is that you can open your hand with the knife in your hand and use it to manipulate things without dropping it
i want a double agent too, but cant decide between the i or ii.... but i think im closer to the ii also. :/
do you still have this knife or did you trade it? I've always wanted one
Nice review. Can you get it on a belt and do you think it would make a good boot knife?
Does anyone happen to know if a small tek lok will fit this sheath?
I bought this and sharpened the swage, very wicked, and lightweight back-up!
I have the hawkbill bladed version and the sheath is just fine even after numerous misfires.
is this legally considered a brass knuckle knife
wer do you get all these?
i recently started to collect..
what are the kinife length laws for a minor in California...Please help and thanks

That is the exact question I was thinking about lately. Curious what @cutlerylover has to say about it.
@50cliber if you have a knife for after you throw that one
@jjd81726354 Probably, because most Bowie's blade lengths are around 8-15 inches. This one is tiny compared to that.
Great review Jeff. Thats a neatly designed knife.

Will you be able to do mowt tricks with this karambit? My friend says the sencod eing near the balde makes it a karambit impossible to do tricks with.

Looks close to the old fashioned brass knuckles handle knife, minus the two middle finger rings and not as burly.
I think it's because very few people get the hawk blade as a self defense weapon
I was hoping you would do a review on this knife! it looks so cool to me. Great review! AWESOME! 5/5
I prefer the Cold Steel Double Agent Stinger Arm Knife. It's very concealed and very cool.

If you want fun try them with the serrated edge. That is vicious.
Add about 10 rubber bands to the handle for a better grip.
