Took my teenage son last night based on this review. It's his new favorite movie. Good stuff. No politics, no didactic lecturing. Just entertainment.
Heard about Chris Gore sending him my best wishes for a good recovery. He was regular voice that I got to listen to on TH-cam that was like hanging out with friends.
What happened to Chris Gore?
@@michaelmoutafis9662 He had a stroke. It was described as mild, but I think any stroke is significant. He sometimes sends messages on live streams, and he says that he's recovering, and will return to Film Threat soon.
The second half was siiiiick.
Love you guys. Film Threat always does a good job of presenting differing opinions on a movie. Send best regards to Chris Gore. Chris is truly one of the great figures in our modern culture. Ok I’ll stop laying it on thick.
Sounds like a good time. We need more movies like this!
💯
I had a great time with the movie. I was surprised by the twist near the climax, and I thought it built up to it well.
Is it worth it to see it in the theatre, or wait to see it at home? I'd be glady spend the money to support good content...
@@drgordo112 I say see it in the theater. The action will have more impact that way.
@@benwest3223 Thanks bud!
@@benwest3223 Just got back. It was good!
Love seeing Mad dog fight 2 on 1 again great movie
This is possibly my favorite movie so far this year. It's just FUN. I agree with Dante that some bits were a little longer than they should have been but it was a solid fun movie and the story had a nice turn. The little sister reminds me of my youngest daughter and H Jon Benjamin as his inter monologue was great.
I really enjoyed this one as an action film. Choreography was really great. Bill Skarsgard was amazing in this. Its definately on the dumb fun side. I really have to give props to the costume design they definately capture that videogame aesthetic. As far as the story once again its dumb but ultimately effective. A lot of the comedy worked well. When i saw the trailer i thought the narrator would be annoying but they actually ease off on it from time to time to allow Skarsgaard to show his stuff.
Bill was great as Clark tv show on netflix.
I was looking at movies and I don’t remember hearing about this one beforehand but I’m interested in seeing this one especially over civil war. I’m a big fan of Andrew koji and just recently finished his series the warrior which I really liked.
I actually wanted to see this movie. It looks like it was based on a video game. But it looks 10 times better than any other movie based on a video game. Damn shame it's not doing well in the theaters.
Get Well Soon Chris!
Nice discussion/review.
One criticism, have a action or martial arts film fan/expert on with Alan next time a martial arts/action movie is being discussed. Its painful to hear the lack of understanding of what a Martial Arts/Action movie is DESIGNED to do from half of the duo discussing the film.
This movie and many in the genre aren't trying to win Oscars. They make call backs to older films in the genre as well as things outside of the genre like the "Blaster Knuckle" used by "Boy" in the televised fight with the Cereal Mascots.
It just makes for a better vibe when folks who fully understand what they're objectively reviewing actually get to speak on it.
You stay in my thoughts, Chris. Also, Bill Kills World sounds good. I want more gritty comic book shit.
Loved this movie! May just be my favorite of 2024
From the Trailer, it looks very KOREAN action in style.
Kill Bill meets Kung Fu Hustle.
"This is a hard R movie"
Look at rating in Quebec : 13+. Seems about right lol. The only action movies I've ever seen rated 16+ in Quebec is Rambo 4, which had Stallone rips throats out with his bare hands and slow motions of heads exploding after being shot by 50 caliber snipers.
I agree this movie excels at world building through its fights and that the last combat scene alone make watching this in theaters worth it.
Does the world die at the end? I can't rewatch any movies where i know the world is eventually going to die.
No, the world doesn’t die, but a lot of characters and mooks do.
The protagonist may be mute and deaf, but he does not echo the powers of his ancestors.
0/10.
I got bored of John Wicks 200000th double tap.
Can we have a little deeper revenge movie more than the usual boss fight?
No, the Baby Driver act wasn't working, , Bill Skarsgård. Neither will the Crow. We off to a great cinematic start of 2024 ... .damn where Mario bros 2?!
Looks like a shitty rip off of Mute and John Wick. Starting to get sick of seeing Skaarsgards in everything, now they're repeating plots like Steven Segall.
