I have an 11-year-old daughter, when I was shown the kyotoTachibana SHS band video, I immediately asked for a musical instrument to buy a flute and play it every day ... even though there was no music notation and rhythm, I really liked it because I gradually played there are tones and dances like you guys ... bravo Kyoto tachibana SHS band, thank you.
I miss all the dear members that made me smile and enjoy life, but here we have a really good new generation. I would bet on them for the next championships.
Tachibana's High School band is top notch. They are all in sync musically, in step marching, and their dance moves are always timed perfectly. They must practice a lot and do lots of parades. Looks like in Japan there are parades all the time for Tachibana to practice in. All the students are having fun and smiling all the time. I hope to see them perform in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics opening and closing ceremonies too.

Hi I am a fan of the Tachibana Hs Band and Hi, I am a retired Band Director. I taught band for about 35 years and I have seen and listen to my share of good bands and bad bands. And every time I see and listen to the Kyoto Tachibana band I am amazed. So, I think the negative comments about this band are uncalled for. The size of the band does not matter. What matters is quality and believe me this band marches and plays with quality. With the addition of brass, the band has become even stronger. Also, people need to realize that the saxophone section and the French Horn section compliment each other. In other words, they reinforce each other. Love the flag work. Love their grace.
these young people should play a major role in the future of our planet! thinkabout. they represent what this chaotic world needs. dedicate their skill and strength for joy and peace, and for a good structure around.
Thank you for bringing back our famous entertaining band. I appreciate your hardwork in capturing precious moments of the band. I admired the new members they are fast in adopting the steps and music of the band not mention the band trade mark - the beautiful smiles and high fives ! With all people around the path of the band theres the forever follower - the three sisters 2:15 and at 4:20 the little one pops out from no where to high five her idol. ...keep up smiling KYOTO TACHIBANA you are the best !.. Small technical note - They are actually Sousaphones. KT uses Tubas only for concerts. The more significant point is the quantity. At 8, I think this is the most they have used within the decade. The second most I could find was at the 2014 Brass Expo in which there were 7. They did feature 9 at the 2018 Rose Bowl Parade. However, that Sousaphone squad was made up of members from 6 different graduation classes (Specifically: 111, 112, 113, 114, 115 & 116).
First of all, I want to thank the person making this video available. Second, I want to thank the students for their hard work and putting everything into playing their instruments. Lastly, I hope with more practice they can play better. Love the music choices. I've watched all the past Brass Expos' of Tachibana and they were GREAT. I have confidence that this band will too. @@tomskupham The only time they supplement with alumni is for the Rose Parade. They want a full complement for that, and JAL and the Green Band Association underwrite a lot (most?) of the cost of travel, instruments, lodging, food, chaperones, etc., so they can bring more people. And it really pays off. That audience reaction after the Mario Turn when they started dancing to Sing(x3) was one of the loudest during the whole parade. ..Joe

@@DavidGatson Have you watched Izumo Business HS Band? They're considered a sister band to KT, and even got permission from the school to make uniforms similar to to KT's superhero costumes. They are a public school- and are in a smaller city, so they haven't the resources like a private school such as KT does, But they have the same drive and charm and do a superb job. KT even performs with them when they can. (They're quite a ways apart.) ..Joe
@@jagerardi Yes I am very familiar with them. I have a long list of Japanese High School Bands that I listen to. Izumo just being one of them. Last year (2018) they performed with Tachibana and they were referred to as Tachibana's sister band. So yes i know them and watch whatever is uploaded to TH-cam.
Marvellous job once more by st.taketo! We can always depend on seeing our favourite band with the best video possible! A full complement of band members now that the first graders have joined them. Nice to see they have nice weather. We here on the East Coast of America have seen nothing but cool temps. and rain. Today, Sunday, May 12, Mothers Day, only 42degrees and raining.
Excited to see the color guard and flute section have more members now. I was worried about the lone flute member in other videos. always nice to see more color guard wave and toss flag around. I’m amazed the new members are integrated into the band quickly.
The girl in the front of the CG was in the percussion section last year. (Bass drum, IIRC.) The wide stripes are 2 new 1st graders, 1 holdover from last year (the section lead at the back) and the 2 we saw at the Toray Arrows and Sakura Parade make up the 6. (BTW: wide stripes don't necessarily mean 1st graders, I think Asics just changed the design this year.) Don't ever worry about the numbers. They always make out. This year they have 8 Sousaphones and only 2 French horns, and they'll still do fine. They'll rearrange parts so that perhaps a Euphonium might supplement the French Horns, and who knows? Maybe Tail-End Charlie will show back up. ..Joe

@@clutchpedalreturnsprg7710 Correct. I believe the reason she was on many different instruments in her 3-year tenure with the band is because her real instrument is (I think) Cello... maybe oboe? It's a while ago and I can't quite remember. I think they put her wherever they needed her for marching, but in concert settings you can see her play her "real" instrument. Also, one of the iconic images of the 2018 Rose parade is a photo of her jumping in the air during the Mario Turn, cymbal arm stretched up to the sky. ..Joe
In the little orange KT skirt? Yes, that's the youngest Diablette. Plays drums. Adores Penguin-chan. Notice how she's running the parade route without any adult supervision? One of the nice things about Japan is that she's quite safe doing that- the crowd will look after her, and all the other little ones as well. ..Joe

Never has been worse. They've been around as a band since 1961, and doing the choreography since 2005 or so. And in that time, got the nickname "Orange Devils" for their ability to win gold medals year after year. The kids know how to stay at the top of their game- that's why so many other schools are now copying them. ..Joe

I hope we get one more popular tune for the marching set. Aside from the Disney medley, all there is that is pop is the Stevie Wonder tune, and that's decades old. Yes, we have a new Samba. But they ALWAYS do a Samba. (And thank God for that, otherwise we wouldn't get the screams and dancing from them!) Fireball was a favorite, but getting a little long in the tooth now. BACK IN "FULL" FORCE!!!!!!!!! There is nothing like seeing 8 sousaphones coming down the path at ya with a full compliment of instruments (well, almost). The Band has filled out very nicely and is sounding the like Bands of old with their characteristic SOLID Brass and Wind Sound. Nice to see the flutes back up to full strength minus piccolo but the DM will fill in that position when she can. 8 trombones leading - Nice. Sax and Clarinets back up to strength. Trumpets - sounding much better! Percussion section - always adding that dynamic punch. And glad to see Sax girl back in the lineup marching again. Still the Band that others want to emulate and duplicate but can't. They are still the one, the only... 🧡💛🧡💛⭐⭐⭐KYOTO TACHIBANA SHS MARCHING BAND⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🧡💛🧡💛 The Crowds? NUTs!!! Do they attract people or what? Crazy the amount of Fans and photographers that want to see, hear and film them. Put KT and this parade in the U.S. and you will have bedlam. The Brass Expo setting though is very scenic and a very good location for this parade and to showcase the Bands. Love it. st. taketo - 🙇♂️🙏🙏!
And alumni. Look at who's carrying the "Brass Expo" sign- a 115 flute player on the right and a 115 CG (the middle one) on the left. Toriton is in the video wearing a white hat, (left "band side") and I think the entire 115 percussion section is with her. Tippi and Komare are also there, same side, further on. The flutes are back up to strength, but the E♭ clarinet player is still supplementing them. That small fireball at the front of the 1st graders at Blumen Hugel is in the clarinets. I've decided to nick name her "Li'l Stinker," because I think she can easily be a Li'l Stinker! .Joe

橘病の症状 何故何回も同じ動画を見るのか？まず普通に一回視聴します。次に押しメンのところを中心にもう一度見ます（押しメン多いとかなり大変） コメントを見て見落としているところを復習します。下手したら観客までチェックします。関連の動画をチェックします。これだけであっという間に2～３時間経っています。どうもこの病気は10年前は地域の風土病だったのですが、日本どころか世界中に流行の兆しが見られます。罹患すると完全に治すのは難しいようですね。
いつも美しい映像をありがとうございます。まだ5月前半なのに非常になめらかなパフォーマンス。部員さんたちには１０連休も無縁だったのでしょうね。

一年生凄い！ ここまで仕上げて来るには 一ヶ月の間に半端ない練習量こなしたんだろうな さすが橘きっちり伝統を受け継いでますね
国内の単独チームでこれほどのパレードを観たことが無い。優秀な子が多かったのかも知れないがわずかな期間でここまで仕上げられるものなのか？新入生の数も多かったので先生だけの力では無理、上級生の教育が素晴しかったのでしょう。私の好きなバナーさん、CGさんも人数が増えて仕上がりも素晴しい。前年度のCGさんもフラッグ、ダンスとも素晴しいスキルでしたが人数が少なすぎました。

The quality of the sound of the Japanese bands is something I thought had long past away. It connects with me in way I can not describe. They have awakened my spirit. Have you watched Izumo Business HS Band? They're considered a sister band to KT, and even got permission from the school to make uniforms similar to to KT's superhero costumes. They are a public school- and are in a smaller city, so they haven't the resources like a private school such as KT does, But they have the same drive and charm and do a superb job.
KT even performs with them when they can. (They're quite a ways apart.)

@@jagerardi Yes I am very familiar with them. I have a long list of Japanese High School Bands that I listen to. Izumo just being one of them. Last year (2018) they performed with Tachibana and they were referred to as Tachibana's sister band. So yes i know them and watch whatever is uploaded to TH-cam.
Marvellous job once more by st.taketo! We can always depend on seeing our favourite band with the best video possible! A full complement of band members now that the first graders have joined them. Nice to see they have nice weather. We here on the East Coast of America have seen nothing but cool temps. and rain. Today, Sunday, May 12, Mothers Day, only 42degrees and raining.
Excited to see the color guard and flute section have more members now. I was worried about the lone flute member in other videos. always nice to see more color guard wave and toss flag around. I’m amazed the new members are integrated into the band quickly.
The girl in the front of the CG was in the percussion section last year. (Bass drum, IIRC.) The wide stripes are 2 new 1st graders, 1 holdover from last year (the section lead at the back) and the 2 we saw at the Toray Arrows and Sakura Parade make up the 6. (BTW: wide stripes don't necessarily mean 1st graders, I think Asics just changed the design this year.)
Don't ever worry about the numbers. They always make out. This year they have 8 Sousaphones and only 2 French horns, and they'll still do fine. They'll rearrange parts so that perhaps a Euphonium might supplement the French Horns, and who knows? Maybe Tail-End Charlie will show back up.

@@clutchpedalreturnsprg7710 Correct. I believe the reason she was on many different instruments in her 3-year tenure with the band is because her real instrument is (I think) Cello... maybe oboe? It's a while ago and I can't quite remember. I think they put her wherever they needed her for marching, but in concert settings you can see her play her "real" instrument.
Also, one of the iconic images of the 2018 Rose parade is a photo of her jumping in the air during the Mario Turn, cymbal arm stretched up to the sky.

So much fun to watch the little Tachibana girl (a Diablo perhaps?) pop in and out of the crowd !😀
In the little orange KT skirt? Yes, that's the youngest Diablette. Plays drums. Adores Penguin-chan.
Notice how she's running the parade route without any adult supervision? One of the nice things about Japan is that she's quite safe doing that- the crowd will look after her, and all the other little ones as well.

私は橘が憧れで高校は橘に行きたいのですが､､通学は片道1時間はかかり、偏差値的にも、50には及ばず、自分がこの中で頑張れるか不安です😭

まだ中2でしょう、頑張れば大丈夫ですよ。それに片道1時間以上かけて通っている生徒さんは大勢いるようですよ。ただ、練習は半端なくキツイようですから、それなりの覚悟もいります。それと偏差値の件ですが、橘に入りたいという志があれば頑張れます。応援してますから、これからでも気合を入れて頑張って下さい！ガンバレ、ガンバレ、人生は一回限りなんだから、本気で頑張って下さい。

来ました！新一年生もいよいよデビューですね！撮影・編集・ｕｐお疲れ様です！ 天候にも恵まれて、素晴らしいパフォーマンスに感激しました。
代々のDM達が守ってきた橘の伝統を最後までやり遂げる為に新しい体制に断固として立ち向かった116期の"ぱりんぷ"さん。新型コロナが無ければ貴女の思いはきっと後輩達に伝わっていたと思います。117期の部長さんはコロナ禍で孤軍奮闘されましたからね。しかしながら練習も出来ず発表の場も無くなり伝統は消えてしまいました。
鬼のような練習の日々が想像できます。
新入生頑張りましたね🙌

I really like the band performance of this group of energetic young people~ Blue out of blue, the performance of the new generation is not worse than that of the older generation, very good ~ Go Go Go Tachibana!
Never has been worse. They've been around as a band since 1961, and doing the choreography since 2005 or so. And in that time, got the nickname "Orange Devils" for their ability to win gold medals year after year.
The kids know how to stay at the top of their game- that's why so many other schools are now copying them.

I hope we get one more popular tune for the marching set. Aside from the Disney medley, all there is that is pop is the Stevie Wonder tune, and that's decades old. Yes, we have a new Samba. But they ALWAYS do a Samba. (And thank God for that, otherwise we wouldn't get the screams and dancing from them!)
Fireball was a favorite, but getting a little long in the tooth now. Pecari Love Night is even older.

トータルでいつもの橘を見れて幸せです。音の厚みも出て安心しました。毎日１８時５０分まで橘のグランドを何週も回って練習したんでしょうね。私の中の金賞です

BACK IN "FULL" FORCE!!!!!!!!! There is nothing like seeing 8 sousaphones coming down the path at ya with a full compliment of instruments (well, almost). The Band has filled out very nicely and is sounding the like Bands of old with their characteristic SOLID Brass and Wind Sound. Nice to see the flutes back up to full strength minus piccolo but the DM will fill in that position when she can. 8 trombones leading - Nice. Sax and Clarinets back up to strength. Trumpets - sounding much better! Percussion section - always adding that dynamic punch. And glad to see Sax girl back in the lineup marching again. Still the Band that others want to emulate and duplicate but can't. They are still the one, the only...

The Crowds? NUTs!!! Do they attract people or what? Crazy the amount of Fans and photographers that want to see, hear and film them. Put KT and this parade in the U.S. and you will have bedlam. The Brass Expo setting though is very scenic and a very good location for this parade and to showcase the Bands. Love it.

And alumni. Look at who's carrying the "Brass Expo" sign- a 115 flute player on the right and a 115 CG (the middle one) on the left. Toriton is in the video wearing a white hat, (left "band side") and I think the entire 115 percussion section is with her. Tippi and Komare are also there, same side, further on.
The flutes are back up to strength, but the E♭ clarinet player is still supplementing them. That small fireball at the front of the 1st graders at Blumen Hugel is in the clarinets. I've decided to nick name her "Li'l Stinker," because I think she can easily be a Li'l Stinker!

Also, E flat clarinet - one of my favorites in the band.
So where is Li'l Stinker in this parade?
@@mr.MarvintheMartian I'll have to look for them again. I wasn't paying attention to the timeline. They're a little further on in the parade, after they get off the bricks.
Li'l Stinker is on the right side of the band, on the end of the line (probably so she can be seen at all!) 2nd from last row.

@@jagerardi Yep, seen them all in another video. They are all on the bend in a turn and the video shows Ms 'T' clearly shouting out to Ms 'P' I think. I saw Ms 'K' also. I think in this video you only see the back of their heads but in this recent video you clearly see their faces.

100人態勢のパレードと各パートの増員、男子部員の増員、アンサンブルの心地よさ、相変わらずの元気、笑顔。
更なる進化と期待感を持たせます、やっぱり増員分のパワー感と安心感がパフォーマンスを引き立てますね。
これから気温もHeat upして来るでしょうが、毎年それを負かすだけのキラキラさが橘の素晴らしさ。
観客も応援するFANも増々増えている様子なので無理せず楽しんで乗り切りましょう。(^^♪
橘の演奏演技は“練習した感”が全く感じられなくて部活という“ぎこちなさ”も皆無😍

Correct. She was the rear most flautist on the left hand side when viewed from front.
