I paid $600 for my rusted out, bad front diff, wood bed, 78 F250 with same engine, but granny first four speed manual. Was glad to get it at that price. Dana 60 front diff has busted carrier. Holy crap what a great deal classic I had a 84 bronco with the 351 and it never had any problems expect the alternator whent out that's it and it was super easy to work on.
Great find, only problem is, I’ve never seen an older ford truck with the solenoid on the starter. Always on the inner fender just behind the battery on the passenger side. If you look in the glovebox there probably was another solenoid in there. Great video though. I did like the yota vid! Also the a/c compressor on that truck makes an awesome air compressor. Put a well pump switch in line, you can use copper tubing( i perfer stainless) plumb your lines to a tank in the bed make sure of a pop off valve for safety and put a throttle set on and that compressor will keep up with any air tool at 1200rpm’s. Make sure you have a 15gal or larger air tank.
Definite miss, with the condition, location, and everything you showed, I'd go anywhere from $800-$1200 depending on how she drives. Sitting for a year, definitely should check out the entire brake system. I would flush the brake lines and take a good look at the fluid for rust and debris. For $100 you can't go wrong, even if you have to do a little work on it. I just recently bought a 92 Geo Metro Convertable for $700, needed a fuel pump, but was in beautiful condition. It will be a good gas saver for running around instead of my 5.8l V-8 Ford van.
Yea...for sure on the brakes...I have several brake projects coming...we have a 69 ford bronco project I'm gonna start this winter too!! Nasty brakes!!
Thomas Russell if he was to clean it up good and leave it the way it is some guys here in the Adirondack mountains would probably give 3 to 4 grand just the way it is because the salt eats trucks alive here nice score he found
Jason Johnson here in central Ky, 1200 to 1500 running with bad gas in it and needing brakes, minimum, to be trust worthy. After flushing the gas system, oil, filters, tires, brakes, lube job including packing the wheel bearings, replacement battery, plugs, ... It would then be a 5000 truck in these parts and you might pull a 500-700 profit.
Kevin Johnson I'd rather make it road safe before passing it along. If the buyer can't recognise that my labor rate was much-much cheaper than most, then they can get-on-down the road. I refuse to sell a vehicle to anyone running the same roads as my family and they might do the bare minimum to get an unsafe road on the streets. If I saw it wrapped around another vehicle in a few weeks, I would feel responsible for allowing it to hit the road in an unsafe manner. If it was going to someone I knew and knew beyond any doubt that they would make it safe to drive, not just able to drive, then I may sell it to them with the understanding that it is not road safe until they do a select few items of repair, with recommendations for other repairs to make it the most reliable it could be. But I would have to have a history with them.
I am 72 now and have been pulling on wrenches for 60 years yet still I am not a mechanic but I have had three old style batteries literally blow up in my face. I have had plastic and battery acid blown into my eyes from making the "last" connection onto a gassing battery. Was much younger then...LOL. You are very correct to make the last connection away from either battery. The only grounded place on a vehicle that is capable of carrying "cranking" amperage is the engine block itself. An AC compressor brace or mounting bracket that is bolted directly to the block is a good place to make your last connection.

That little miss that it has could be a fouled spark plug and or a dry rotted plug wire. A good little ole fashion tune up should be a good sound truck.
someone mentions parts made mexcio LOL. guess what, if you have a GM motor made 1973 forward the block heads and rod were cast in mexcio, machined in USA
I've got an '84 F150 with 351w engine in it. It easily does burnouts without using the brake, but shorter ones of course. You'll get plenty of power from it, just don't take it on a road trip and expect decent gas mileage. My holley 4 barrel gives me about 11mpg when tuned properly.
Om gosh 100 bucks. God bless him. Hes not trying to bend ya over the barrel. Have to love it. Wish everyone in America was this honest . Love country folks
Why do people have to shame? It's a 40 year old non running truck when the buyer shows up. The seller had given up on it quite a while ago. It's not a $2500 truck, not even close. It's a $100 truck because that's the price the seller accepted. Yeah, he got a nice deal but most vehicles that sit that long will need TLC (time and money) neither of which the seller was willing to invest any longer. I enjoyed the video, you are just jealous you didn't find it. Hey losers, STOP throwing shade because an enterprising guy might benefit from a little hustle.
Haters gonna hate that's for sure....and you are absolutely right..that truck would still be sitting there in the weeds...now it's back on the road and living an new life....this fella lives close to me and I scraped his driveway (500 yards long) last snow storm...he knows if he needs anything he can call me....he's now a close friend ....people been watching too much "American Pickers" where a person throws a price and they offer more for it......that's just to keep the masses at bay....people hate ya for getting a steal...not sure why....they take it personal like you're screwing them....oh well....still driving the $100 truck almost daily!
Love those old carbureted Ford trucks. I used to have a 1975 F250 2WD with a 390 four barrel/C6 in it. Solid as a rock. And you can't beat the old Ford Twin-I-Beam front suspension. I used it to haul dirt bikes and quads out to the desert, and to go camping up north (AZ). I finally got out of that stuff because I didn't have time, and sold the truck. Back then gas was $4 a gallon and it got about 8 mpg in town. I simply could not afford to drive it. I have mixed feelings about selling it. On the one hand I really liked it, and it was a tank. But 8 mpg was just not within my budget. I wound up with an almost like new 1983 Chevy S10 2.8 5 speed. I still have it. It's not the tank that Ford was, but the MPG is WAY better.
I have heard that the 78s with that XLT Ranger trim package got the square headlights. We had a 78 Custom with the round headlights but we installed the square headlight bezels with the square headlights. I think the square lights look so much better.
Nice! I’m actually working on my grandpa’s old dodge d100 the alternator needs testing and it’s a really good truck it just needs a tune up cause it stalls on him whenever he takes it out on a drive. But other than that it’s a really hefty truck!
Canadian Redneck TV In 1998 they introduced the 24valve Cummins which is still considered a 2nd gen up until 2002 which then introduced the 3rd gen. While the 24valve I can't say anything bad about although in not too familiar with them, but they do not have the unstoppable reputation like the 12valve Cummins.
Another unicorn would be my uncles old 1962 ford f100 unibody. I always thought he had modified until I seen another one on Craigslist a few years ago then looked it up more.
I was taught to: hook up positive on good battery, positive on bad batter, negative on good batter then negative on frame metal on bad battery vehicle. Then after starting and running for a few minutes unhook in reverse order.
Bought me a truck the same color same engine for $365 back in 97. I loved it I drove it for one year got it painted at Earl shabs for 199.95 and sold it for $2500...blk truck looked good! Miss it!
That's what I'm talking about! Much better deal than the Yota. Keep us posted on what you end up doing to or with it to get it a little more dependable. Loving Stoney Ridge!
What's it to me? Nothing to me, but for a novice car buyer, who might not know better, it's a warning because odometers for those years only had 5 digits...Capiche?
Joe Bloe... Low mileage vehicles do exist, I have several in my garage to include a 1979 F250 XLT 4WD with 60K original miles my dad bought new that we now own. Needless to say I sure didn't get it for a 100 bucks though, and that was as I said a family deal...
Gotta love them old odometers. 99999 miles then like magic resets to 0. I had an old 93 Ranger like that. All original and rolled it well over 300k. Selling it and the guy went nuts to see 22k on it amd wouldn't believe it had 300k since it was a michigan truck it's entire life with the normal cab corners with surface rust then the Swiss cheese rust around the beds fender wells. Frame was rust free. Original engine and trans just had a new clutch put in it a year prior to selling it. Along with new tires including the spare and suspension all around Was a good little v6 manual rwd truck.
Up here in Michigan, a dentside Ford, with that amount of rust, and running like it does, is a $1500-$2000 piece, maybe more, IF you can find one. Good Score !!!
Shoot dude after cleaning it up and driving it today..it's a$2500 truck all day long around here...got a good buy...turns out this guy was watching my channel and wanted his father's old truck to be put to use...I think he'll enjoy seeing it work on the Vlogs
Ha! Thousand max value anywhere...in Tennessee, used car prices are stupid crazy......I bought a 1979 f350 camper special with 86,000 miles, one owner, thousand dollar book value. I traded work for it. No rust,dents...also no 4wheel drive, that sucked. Grants pass oregon
That's a really great find, I've paid 500 for not running no box floors gone 79's and that condition with the c6 and 351 in it and ac that's a 1500$ to 2000$+, up here in Ontario
You disappoint me! You're supposed to crawl all over it and find out all the things that are wrong and how the paint isn't shiny and then try to talk him down to $60
I realize you're just being funny, but be careful about talking someone down from a fair price. They might just take a dislike to you for your insult and decide not to sell it.
First time here. Subscribed and bell. $100 farm truck. What a steal!! That old guy should have asked at least $400. He would have gotten it. Thanks for the video, awesome.
Sir, you really need to get someone to show you how to jump start a vehicle. You pulled cranking amperage through the radiator cradle which only has a low amp ground connection suitable for the headlights and such, perhaps a 14 or 12 gauge wire. Second you should never have your truck running when you try to crank the dead truck because the heavy amp draw or shorted starter could and most likely will damage the alternator on the jump truck.
I've never seen a 78 with square headlights unless someone switched over from the round bezel and light. Either way that's a great find and the best deal you could've ever get. I have a 79 that's identical to yours besides any dad built and swapped in a bb460 with about 500 hp in 1985 and its still going strong. I'm willing to bet the odometer on yours has rolled over at least once but either way it'll probably be one of the best trucks you'll ever have.
If you're jumping a dead battery, it helps to let it soak up a charge for a few minutes before cranking. Also I prefer to jump with the engine off, key off to protect electronics from voltage spikes.
Thanks! It was just trees and brush when we first hiked up here. A lot of work but we raised 2 little boys to fine men up here. I wish I could do it all over.
The goo running down from the inner fender well you referred to is coming from the electronic ignition box which usually means the electronics are overheating an has melted the gell they are mounted in and will eventually stop working and you will lose spark. Seen it many times on these Fords
Yes sir, If it were my truck I would. This is a sign that the electronics in the ignition module are overheating and will eventually fail. Sometimes after running awhile you could put your hand on the module and it would be very hot. I have seen them get hot and quit firing, and cut off, then you could pour cold water on the module to cool it and the vehicle would restart. I use to recommend people with these type modules carry a spare in case it quit on the road somewhere. You never know!
I'll admit I'm not a big truck fan But I love that old forward you picked up!admittedly it'll neither stirred her and a few other things but you can't be paying $100 for that! Around here the scrappers pay $200 for a half ton truck taking it in for scrap. Unfortunately you can't get afford that old salvageable around here because of the Nova Scotia RusT. Reminds me of my father's old 72 he had when I was a kid. Once again very nice truck.
Stoney Ridge Farmer I been using a Ford Ranger 4wd 76 I believe. Besides having to spray some starter fluid a few times it runs great! I use it for moving rounds of pine, ripping out manzanitas and other bushes, and for plowing up to about 1 foot of snow.
What a steal! The low mileage would mean that it is a true farm truck used just on the property and to drive to town. I live in Texas, and finding a truck even a quarter of that truck's age with that low mileage is close to impossible. Even with it's superficial look of it's age, it looks beautiful to me. Is my fawning over American steel on wheels showing?
WOW!! Go back and give him $500 to clear you conscience. If you don't, you're worthless

TH-cam.
I just bought a clean 69 f100 for 4800. It was in great condition with brakes, engine and lots of xtras. The family was awesome. I made sure to give the Pops and Son both premium cigars when i picked her up. I wish all sales went that way.
With a power wash that thing will look like new and degreaser to clean the engine nice truck 😎
She cleaned up nice for sure
Stoney Ridge Farmer yup saw your other video looked like new 😎
yeah clean it up it'd be a good looking retro truck. you should post a link to it in this video, i'm not seeing another video up for it
I Just bought me a '76 f150 ranger 4x4 for $300 runs great. I got the imline 6 cylinder 4 speed stick. Thats one beauti there. Good job on your find and good luck with it. One down side to the 70's models were thr breaks
XLT is top of the line back then. the lettering placement on hood matches 79 my brother had. 77 78 had lettering in top of grill.
Nope guys rectangular headlights came in on 78 ranger equipment levels...base and early 78 had round headlights.... can't you see that truck is loaded even factory air and he said it was a ranger
It's a 78
I'll give you 10 times that now. Drove a lot of them back in the day when I worked at a dealer. Love them.
Great find, if this goes viral too then I'm posting one about craigslist too lol...
LOL Find a bunker for sale on Craigslist
Hahaha good idea
Keeping It Dutch W
Well...you sure did it didnt ya...lol
Nice find! Farm Trucks have long captivated my interest, though I'm not a Farmer. Maybe echos of a past life. Keep us up to date on how the old girl works out!
$100 are you serious, wow. Sure can't find a deal like that in my state anymore. Anything under $1k that runs is a steal.
Hi there! I bought a used 2006 Dodge Dakota for $1.00 :) Had to tow it home with my F250 Diesel...but for a coupla hundred bucks later, (to get it running), I had a good running Dakota ! Subscribed!
I paid $600 for my rusted out, bad front diff, wood bed, 78 F250 with same engine, but granny first four speed manual. Was glad to get it at that price. Dana 60 front diff has busted carrier. Found a $100 diff to swap out to get my 4x4 up. Drives okay in 2wd, but that busted carrier scares me. $100 definately a steal for that F150.
Doc Pedersen to
better deal,,, you have a 4 WD truck...
Love that old red and white 9th gen in the background. I love the 5,6,7,8,and 9th gen ford f-series pickups ive been around these old fords all my life love these old trucks. Also bought a 93 f150 ecsb 5.0 for $300 at an estate sale has 105k on it and is my daily driver
In my days if the truck runs it’s worth $500 and this was in the early 80’s. Great find and nice truck.
I thank so too..been out driving it today...love that old gal!
What a great find! Excited to see it after you clean it up. That view was awesome
That goop on the inner fender is from the ignition module
bduff007 beat me to it. 30 bucks for a new one. Get the one with the blue plug.
Yep.. And if it's been melting away that bad, he better change it before he gets somewhere and it wont start back up.. lol.. I'v been there done that..
bduff007 It's the voltage regulator.
Stacy Smith voltage regulator is on the opposite side
bduff007 - exactly. Mine looked like that too. Had to buy a new module. The back side gets hot and melts off when the module is old and about to give out. Then it will finally short out and quit working.
Holy crap what a great deal classic I had a 84 bronco with the 351 and it never had any problems expect the alternator whent out that's it and it was super easy to work on.
Ground to engine block, not radiator support
Ground to negative terminal of battery, not engine block
ground to your ballsack. not the battery.
ground to your nipples, not your ballsack
Richard, you are correct. Ground to engine block, not radiator support. I caught that also....
Thomas Russell here in the Rio grande valley like that they run in the 4000 to 5000 thousand
Thanks man..great tip!
Git er DONE!!! Btw, I just paid twice that price for an old lawn mower.
Nice truck! I have a bull nose 85 f250 with the 4.9 inline 6. The thing has over 400 thousand miles and she still runs like brand new.
Such a cool truck. Christmas is coming, someone please buy me one!
Simao W i put one on my wishlist too
Simao W ... dude ... get off your computer chair and go find one for yourself ... The old folk have NO IDEA of the value of todays $'s ... why don't you copy Stoney Ridge Farmer and look for a local OAP on craigslist to rip off ... !!!!!
Better still ... why don't you quit being an anti-Christian beggar !
Christ is the title given to describe the Son who was chosen by Our Father to officially represent Him, and a Mass is a funeral service ... put both words together, drop an "s" and bingo ... you're an anti-Christian ... Congratulations ... you must be very proud of yourself !
Idiot !

boostcati@gmail.com

100 dollars? Holy cats man..! Even not running it's worth more than that.
I know right! I almost tore my pants getting my wallet out!
Adam in Memphis TN it's around $1200 to $2000 for a truck like that.
Great video man! Ignore all of these haters who don’t know the full story and are calling you a lier. God bless you!
Super good price & its American!
Just think of it this way, Mexico is in the American Continent not in Asia, bring it😠
Made in Mexico lol
LOL Toyotas are used in some of the worst types of conditions throughout the world. The 3rd world uses nothing but Toyotas because they treat them like absolute shit yet they keep on working 100% of the time. American girly grocery hauler lol that is pretty funny considering we use an F150 and a Tundra for work. Our F150 needed its transmission replaced at 115,000 miles. The Tundra is at 231,000 miles without a single malfunction.
Johnson Johnson: LOL Camry is more American than the FOneShitty
"By this measure, two Toyota models -- the Kentucky-built Camry and the Indiana-built Sienna minivan -- rank first and second. Ford's best-selling pickup truck doesn't even make the cut any more because its domestic parts content fell to 70 percent when it was redesigned for the 2015 model year."

Enjoy your Mexican made FOneShitty
Immortalkalashnikov im sorry i dont use my truck for road trips i use it for hauling bales and rocks like to see your Toyota for that
I love it! The bed looks like it is being held together with the rust, and you just call it a 'little surface rust'. This is a great vid! you are a great vid. maker bud! My last Ranger was a 2002 Edge, a bit more than $100...more like $13K, but this gives me hope that my current 11yo car will last till I am rust:) How did I find you? This was so fun and funny!!!
That little miss that it has could be a fouled spark plug and or a dry rotted plug wire. A good little ole fashion tune up should be a good sound truck.
I'm on it!
How much
Right on Josh, glad for your good fortune! Lotta truck for the price! Btw, thanks for the awesome shot of the view off of Mikes property.
someone mentions parts made mexcio LOL. guess what, if you have a GM motor made 1973 forward the block heads and rod were cast in mexcio, machined in USA
lol.....cant argue with that can we
It has A/C-GOOD chance to make it an on-board air system. EXTREMELY handy on farm or ranch trucks!
HOLY CRAP THATS CRAZY 100 WHAT A DEAL/STEAL THATS CRAZY!!
Great buy for good old American muscle truck 🤙🏻
Stoney Ridge Farmer 👍
Cleaned up and tuned up and that truck would be worth at least a couple thousand here in Texas.
Good video...i do the same thing with old Honda motorcycles..but, you hit all the basics...electrical, fuel...make sure brakes are good to go!
I thought the 78's had circle headlights. you sure thats not a 79?
78 on the tittle...maybe it's a later model built late in the year...not sure Jimmy
Late 78s got the square headlights. So basically a 78 1/2.
I have heard that the 78s with that XLT Ranger trim package got the square headlights. We had a 78 Custom with the round headlights but we installed the square headlight bezels with the square headlights. I think the square lights look so much better.
jimmy21480 78's customs( lowest trim level ) had round lights any trim above that got square
ya learn something new every day! I had a 78 Bronco that had the circle lights.
Nice! I’m actually working on my grandpa’s old dodge d100 the alternator needs testing and it’s a really good truck it just needs a tune up cause it stalls on him whenever he takes it out on a drive. But other than that it’s a really hefty truck!
I want that truck, would look good next to my 94 F150
I love these old truck .my dad had a 68 f250 v8 three on the tree..
He taught me how to drive in that truck when I was 12. I'm 51 now
That’s not a Unicorn truck ,the Unicorn is a 12-valve with 4 doors and a 5-speed and 4wd
Hmmm.....now that's a true unicorn!
The holy grail. 1997.5
theninja001 any Cummins 1st or 2nd
Canadian Redneck TV In 1998 they introduced the 24valve Cummins which is still considered a 2nd gen up until 2002 which then introduced the 3rd gen. While the 24valve I can't say anything bad about although in not too familiar with them, but they do not have the unstoppable reputation like the 12valve Cummins.
Another unicorn would be my uncles old 1962 ford f100 unibody. I always thought he had modified until I seen another one on Craigslist a few years ago then looked it up more.
This guy is so enthusiastic and excited , he would make a great car salesman or reviewer! 👍🏼
Father certainly blessed you and you passed it on by blessing the guy doing his driveway, fantastic, thanks for sharing this, it was great!
Im jealous of that buy. Great vid.
I was taught to: hook up positive on good battery, positive on bad batter, negative on good batter then negative on frame metal on bad battery vehicle. Then after starting and running for a few minutes unhook in reverse order.
Take good care of my Dad’s truck. 🙂
Bought me a truck the same color same engine for $365 back in 97.
I loved it I drove it for one year got it painted at Earl shabs for 199.95 and sold it for $2500...blk truck looked good!
Miss it!
Great find !!
Run some Sea Foam through it.. It will clean the bugs out of it..
That's what I'm talking about! Much better deal than the Yota. Keep us posted on what you end up doing to or with it to get it a little more dependable. Loving Stoney Ridge!
Yea but the Yota will probably be one hell of a more reliable truck. We just had to rebuild the transmission on our F150 at 115,000 miles.
I'm a yota and Ford man through and through, they both have their places. What year was you F150?
It is a 2005. My Tundra is at 231,000 miles on the original trans.
If you think it only has 43,000 miles on it, you must be the type P.T. Barnum said was born every minute
joe bloe yes you are right it surely has more miles than the odometer says but whats the point of your comment really whats it to you
What's it to me?
Could be original mileage. People didn't drive pickups back then the way they do now.
Up here in Michigan, a dentside Ford, with that amount of rust, and running like it does, is a $1500-$2000 piece, maybe more, IF you can find one. Good Score !!!
100$ wats the catch that's a 1000 or better truck here in Tennessee all day long
Shoot dude after cleaning it up and driving it today..it's a$2500 truck all day long around here...got a good buy...turns out this guy was watching my channel and wanted his father's old truck to be put to use...I think he'll enjoy seeing it work on the Vlogs
Stoney Ridge Farmer most deffinantly has to be the best barn find I've ever seen good buy can't wait to see the future videos
Stafford Farms three to four grand here in the Adirondack mountains we love them here too
Stoney Ridge Farmer I have a 93 Toyota 2wd. I can't find parts can u help. it's body parts I need
That's a really great find, I've paid 500 for not running no box floors gone 79's and that condition with the c6 and 351 in it and ac that's a 1500$ to 2000$+, up here in Ontario
Ok $100 he must be a fan
Wow! It’s nice to get a great deal, and I’ll wager that the Mrs. will be happy happy happy! Congratulations-peace-out!
You disappoint me! You're supposed to crawl all over it and find out all the things that are wrong and how the paint isn't shiny and then try to talk him down to $60
And your wife is still pretty!
lol....yep she wakes up looking good too....which says alot ;)
Lol
I realize you're just being funny, but be careful about talking someone down from a fair price. They might just take a dislike to you for your insult and decide not to sell it.
LMAO this comments rocks
First time here. Subscribed and bell. $100 farm truck. What a steal!! That old guy should have asked at least $400. He would have gotten it. Thanks for the video, awesome.
Sir, you really need to get someone to show you how to jump start a vehicle. You pulled cranking amperage through the radiator cradle which only has a low amp ground connection suitable for the headlights and such, perhaps a 14 or 12 gauge wire. Second you should never have your truck running when you try to crank the dead truck because the heavy amp draw or shorted starter could and most likely will damage the alternator on the jump truck.
Just the way I learned how to do it....thanks for the tip...maybe you just showed me how
Dhehgsh0suohiuoykhiuytkng
I've never seen a 78 with square headlights unless someone switched over from the round bezel and light. Either way that's a great find and the best deal you could've ever get. I have a 79 that's identical to yours besides any dad built and swapped in a bb460 with about 500 hp in 1985 and its still going strong. I'm willing to bet the odometer on yours has rolled over at least once but either way it'll probably be one of the best trucks you'll ever have.
Sir you said you would've paid $2500 for that pos Toyota. If I were you I would have given that much to the old man for that Ford.
May Good bless that man and the State of North Carolina. Definitely on my list of States to visit. Thanks for sharing.
$100? You stole that damn thing!!
If you're jumping a dead battery, it helps to let it soak up a charge for a few minutes before cranking. Also I prefer to jump with the engine off, key off to protect electronics from voltage spikes.
solenoid is mounted separate
Nancy Gonzalez you are a smart girl, pretty too!!!
Great find i hope all worked out fir you. I look foward to see what it looks like when ur done.
Wow, 500 views in less than an hour! Call it Bill.
Yea...ur now world famous ! Thanks again !
Mike Gilbert got any more deals? I'll come up and take some stuff off your hands.
Well, sorry. Josh has about cleaned me out. He carried off about a ton of nails and screws.
Hey Mike, What wonderful property ya got there, Beautiful Indeed!!
Thanks! It was just trees and brush when we first hiked up here. A lot of work but we raised 2 little boys to fine men up here. I wish I could do it all over.
I'm jealous! Nothing better than the old 351! looks amazing & it'll make u a great truck I got a 78 f350 flatbed as my farm truck
Ok i would have gave a hundred bucks. That way the first time it's stuck i can kick it with no worries.
Shoot...I'd buy it fill it full of gas and shoot at it for that price...that's cheaper than my darn pocket knife!
The goo running down from the inner fender well you referred to is coming from the electronic ignition box which usually means the electronics are overheating an has melted the gell they are mounted in and will eventually stop working and you will lose spark. Seen it many times on these Fords
You think I should replace it?
Yes sir, If it were my truck I would. This is a sign that the electronics in the ignition module are overheating and will eventually fail. Sometimes after running awhile you could put your hand on the module and it would be very hot. I have seen them get hot and quit firing, and cut off, then you could pour cold water on the module to cool it and the vehicle would restart. I use to recommend people with these type modules carry a spare in case it quit on the road somewhere. You never know!
I think you're talking too much
I'll admit I'm not a big truck fan But I love that old forward you picked up!admittedly it'll neither stirred her and a few other things but you can't be paying $100 for that! Around here the scrappers pay $200 for a half ton truck taking it in for scrap. Unfortunately you can't get afford that old salvageable around here because of the Nova Scotia RusT.
Reminds me of my father's old 72 he had when I was a kid. Once again very nice truck.
Thanks buddy
Guys the truck has become a celebrity on the channel...we made t-shirts..here's a link: www.bonfire.com/stoney-ridge-farmer-100-truck/
Stoney Ridge Farmer
I been using a Ford Ranger 4wd 76 I believe. Besides having to spray some starter fluid a few times it runs great! I use it for moving rounds of pine, ripping out manzanitas and other bushes, and for plowing up to about 1 foot of snow.
Hope you figured out what that goo was and replaced it because it's going to stop running soon if you don't! Better read up on your fords!
Stoney Ridge Farmer cc.
