The story about the guy saving the Nicaraguan woman from the fire really broke my heart. As soon as she started saying "mi hija" I knew she was asking for her daughter and I just started sobbing, because in that moment I just somehow knew they weren't gonna find her there 😢
I kept wondering "what about her daughter?" I hope that girl is found safe. Stories like that play out all too often. I pray for all the women and girls that are taken from their families like that. 😟

The first story was so depressing. Not just because of the circumstances but because I'm Nicaraguan too and knowing the fact she'll never get to see her daughter while in a foreign country is heartbreaking
That fire/trafficking story had me hooked up so bad that I legit got mad when my kid interrupted me to fix a toy 😂 like damn, I'm in the middle of something here!
My house was very close to the fires. I am very thankful they didn’t reach my house, and that me and my family didn’t have to evacuate, even though we came very close to doing so. My grandparents, who live in Molalla, OR, did have to evacuate and stayed in the guest bedroom of my house. After a few days they were able to return to their house, that turned out fine.
same, it was fucking terrifying. the only reason the fire didnt reach my home is because of the large lake behind the mountain thats behind our house. if not the fire would've raged past the mountain and into the large field behind our house. it was scary having to listen to the radio waiting for the moment they said "level 3, evacuate". it was so scary to sleep, afraid of waking up to someone knocking or a loud alarm telling us to get out.
My grandparents had to evacuate also they live in Hillsboro, OR, We had to pack a small bag and prepare in case we had to evacuate. It was scary as hll

I live in Oregon and when the fires happened there were tons of reports in the Facebook community chats to be safe while at the local Wal-Marts and Wincos cause women were being followed in stores and parking lots. Happened to my boyfriends sister and her kids while she was shopping.

This just happened an hour ago. I went to let the dogs out and I heard what Sounded like a women scream bloody murder, and it sounded like it came from the back of my house (I live in a cul-de-sac, with a fenced in back yard). My dogs (little ankle biters) get scared and run inside. I decide to go out back to check. I call out to see if anyone is there or if they’re ok. As I get to the back of the house, they scream again, this time even louder. There is definitely something behind my house, screaming. I don’t scare easy, so I took the 5 more steps and as my phone light shines in the back yard, there are two glowing eyes. It was a full grown Fox down in my egress window. It jumped out, ran past me, and out under my fence. Look up Fox screams, they are freaky. Fun little scare.

I asked OP on reddit about the first story. It sounded like it’s my local area. I said I live here, did you drive out this hwy and he said he can’t say since it’s an open investigation but if the shoe fits. So that first story sounds like it is in my normally boring local area.
