Eddie I’ve worked in disability and palliative care for 34 years. The number one regret people have looking back on life is not what they’ve done but what they haven’t done. Get on that plane as soon as you can. Live life looking through the windshield as you have always done and not peering at the rear view mirrors. Much love to you and thanks for sharing.
I've heard this "regrets" mantra from people in your job before, and it's not as wise as you seem to think it is. Yes people may regret not having done things. But at the time there were probably very good reasons for them not doing them. So essentially these kind of assertions are meaningless.
It's very important to keep your spirits high when you're going through your cancer treatments. Having something good to look forward to will help greatly to keep you in a more positive mood. Being negative will make your life less enjoyable & hasten your demise. Avoid being around negative people because their negative views will only make you feel worse. When I was going through chemo & radiation treatment, I told all my doctors the moment I done with my treatments I am going back to Cambodia. I said it so many times it was put in my permanent health records. Every time I had any kind of examination, the doctors would always smile & ask me questions about me going back to Cambodia. Eddy, a wise man once said planning a trip provides almost enjoyment as taking the trip. That was the Pattaya Pirenha. I think that was his name. He documented a trip to Pattaya with each day a new video. I think he removed the videos from youtube. I had watched each 3 or 4 times but I would like to see them again. Anyway, I think you should plan your trips and take them if you're able. That's a big part of who you are. Your trips have also provided many of us with entertainment through your videos.
My heart goes out to you Eddie, you are a strong man. I am recovering from heart surgery and I will be going back to the Philippines in the near future. Let the Asia thing go, he's not going to Asia because he rightfully feels it's too difficult to do. He's taking bite sized trips that are close to home, no need for visas or massive hospital expenses, it's everything that Thailand can never be in his condition.
@@floki1503 you are saying he's going to Asia, he isn't! He's not going overseas until the end of his treatment and that's if he's well enough and able enough, he has to see how he feels before and after that trip and then you have to factor in how many months of good health he's likely to have to versus if he can get a tourist visa in condition, he won't be able to stay long when he gets there because either his health will decline or the rainy season will come back again. Listen to his video, he is actively stating that he wants to be in places that he can get home via land transport and that rules Thailand out all together.
Check your health provider, Ed, even if you ignore what they say. 😉By the way, I found out something about another person with brain cancer and it's encouraging. There’s no such thing as being reckless when you may have only a small window of healthy life remaining. Terrible and frightening situation, but one positive aspect is you are now liberated to do anything your body and mind will allow, regardless of the consequences. Suggest you stop thinking and start doing.
I have to say, you've recovered remarkably well, when you were in that hospital bed, and your friend had to be there, to help you speak. Now you seem back to your old self. Life is a gift for you to use, we all fear, being in a nursing home, eating liquidised baby food. I that's what you want, it's your life.
One of your viewers and I believe a nurse mentioned to you about how you would feel after the radio therapy. If you’re not fit to travel then don’t. Wait until you’re near 100 % and then go hard ! 🍻
You can't decide anything until you have finished your treatment. You are burying your head in the sand. You have to admit to yourself that your life changed.

@@AG-so4gl No NHS in Thailand, how much do you think a serious setback would cost. ??
@@Jimmyredcab- cant take the money with you. He should spend like its 1999, 😅. No point bring stuck where your miserable. In my opinion
Ed you look very well. Not drinking really suits you. you'll get stronger mate. You are an inspiration.
Go for. Gold. 1st of.JULY. I had to adopt, my older brothers 17 year old, Cat.
Thanks for the amount of information on, Thailand. Especially. Thanks, Eddy.
Ed your a legend.....just make sure you can take it physically.
My heart goes out to you Eddie, you are a strong man. I am recovering from heart surgery and I will be going back to the Philippines in the near future. I have always wanted to live there but watching your videos have made me worry about my health more. I think you should do what your heart tells you. God love you mate and take care. Eamonn
Eddie don't forget the physio side of things, walk in the park a few days a week or get on a treadmill if you can. It's imperative to get your walking level's up for when you get back to Asia..
Let the Asia thing go, he's not going to Asia because he rightfully feels it's too difficult to do. He's taking bite sized trips that are close to home, no need for visas or massive hospital expenses, it's everything that Thailand can never be in his condition.
@@bigwideworld387he’s said he is going to Asia.
@@bigwideworld387 umm no he is 100% going to Asia, just not this year..
Gets your facts straight before you post
@@floki1503 you are saying he's going to Asia, he isn't! He's not going overseas until the end of his treatment and that's if he's well enough and able enough, he has to see how he feels before and after that trip and then you have to factor in how many months of good health he's likely to have to versus if he can get a tourist visa in condition, he won't be able to stay long when he gets there because either his health will decline or the rainy season will come back again. Listen to his video, he is actively stating that he wants to be in places that he can get home via land transport and that rules Thailand out all together.
@@bigwideworld387 he's going to Thailand in the new year and will be enjoying whatever's time he has left there, that's his plan ...
Check your health provider, Ed, even if you ignore what they say. 😉By the way, I found out something about another person with brain cancer and it's encouraging.
Twenty years ago, Carmen Rice was told to get her affairs in order, she was diagnosed with the deadliest form of brain cancer, glioblastoma. At the time, she was told she had about 6 months to live. But this year, Carmen celebrated 20 years being cancer free from glioblastoma.
Yes Brother 👏🏾. Get back on that horse and go live your life. Make sure you know where the closest emergency facilities are, and have a contingency plan, incase you have an emergency. Plan out a route and stay close to where you can get an ambulance 🚑 if you need it.
Mate you go for it brother enjoy the time you have...go and live your life
Do your thing, life is short, enjoy what you have left.
No, the only people who think he's mad are the people who are themselves because they are mad in every way!Life IS mad that's why we're here so go out and live whatever days you have to the absolute max and screw what people think
Go 4 it brother keep living the dream u ain't reckless man live ur life to the full good luck my friend
I hope you have an amazing time Eddie my friend and when you get to Pattaya after this trip, I will have to join you for the party hopefully be able to buy you a drink. You are a very brave man and an inspiration to me and many others 🙌
Ed, go for it. Your time is finite. Not much to lose. and on the other hand, you could have a fun time.
go for it mate, gives you something to aim for!
There’s no such thing as being reckless when you may have only a small window of healthy life remaining. Terrible and frightening situation, but one positive aspect is you are now liberated to do anything your body and mind will allow, regardless of the consequences.
Suggest you stop thinking and start doing.
Reading the comments would suggest it’s a resounding…….YES Eddie.
100% right Ed . No doubt at all .
Already you’re up beat 👍🙏
Go for it Ed.
Ive got 2 short holidays this year, with a view to Siam in 2025.
Avoid the winters, and we may last many years yet!
I have to say, you've recovered remarkably well, when you were in that hospital bed, and your friend had to be there, to help you speak. Now you seem back to your old self. Life is a gift for you to use, we all fear, being in a nursing home, eating liquidised baby food. I that's what you want, it's your life.
Life is for living and your clock is running out. Get gone and bloody live!!!
One of your viewers and I believe a nurse mentioned to you about how you would feel after the radio therapy. If you’re not fit to travel then don’t. Wait until you’re near 100 % and then go hard ! 🍻
Do what makes you happy Eddy. All the best mate.
Go for it Eddy, enjoy and live your best life. We are with you every step of the way ❤
You can't decide anything until you have finished your treatment. You are burying your head in the sand. You have to admit to yourself that your life changed.
Go for it. You just can't sit at home everyone needs something to look forward to. It is what will keep you going. Your positive attitude from the start of this has been amazing. Love your travels. Best wishes
If you're up for it, healthwise, go for it.
youve thought of all hte possibilities and decided..well done...its not stupid, everyone has to live...and you are..well done Eddie..and its only a couple of hours away...dont doubt yourself !
If you are traveling with a companion that's good, but solo you will struggle. How will you get to the airport, bus forget it you will struggle to climb the steps.Train underground to airport no lifts and poor air quality, you will be worn out before getting to the airport. I know because I have done it.
Hi Eddie, my aunt was given 18 months to live when she was 72 with a similar problem she is still alive at 90 hope this makes you feel positive enjoy mate.
Something to look forward too Ed.
As the long, cold winter days and nights approach, may you follow wherever your heart leads, Eddie. Enjoy life to the fullest, and may it be even longer than you anticipate.
Eddie I hope you can make that holiday, reckless I would say it's a risk mate but I guess you needed something to look forward to. Now you can focus on that holiday and I get it mate. Steve
Yes, you are in good hands in the U.K
Considering traveling without the safety net of a medical team would in my opinion be irresponsible. Remember that you in your condition are vulnerable to all kinds of swindlers
Hell Eddy, go for it. Travel is what you love, why wouldn't you plan to go? It shows you have hope and grit.
Good move! You're determined to make the most of how ever much longer you've got left on this planet! Your courage in the face of adversity is an inspiration! Looking forward to the videos from wherever it is you're going! Hope you can make it back to south east asia in November or December!
Eddie don't worry what people think mate, Travelling makes you happy. GO FOR IT MATE. Best wishes Stevev
