After seeing World War Z, in which I can completely understand why the world fell so fast to the zombies due to the infection process taking only 12 seconds to occur, I believe the Walking Dead scenario to be impossible in its story line. The reason being is that the infection process can take up to a few hours to a few days depending on the person's immune system and physical strength. As soon as it became apparent that the dead were reanimating the zombies would be quickly eliminated by the military, especially since they only shamble in a slow walk rather than sprint as the WWZ zombies do. Seems like it'd be super easy, and probably a hell of a lot of fun to pop zombies these slow to turn and move.
Actually if the infection rate was short like 12 seconds, It would not spread. No people boarding planes or boats infected. It would be contained to where it started. In the book WWZ it started out slower and sped up later. Called it the Slow Burn.

When we got to watch as civilization fall apart, that was the most entertaining and interesting parts of the show. But after they left the military base, It started becoming bland and boring. Probably because they new what the zombies/ walkers weakness is and they once again were no longer an interesting threat. It just became super predictable and uneventful like how the Walking Dead became. If the show stayed with being a prequel showing the downfall of humanity, it would've been fresh, even if it lasted only 2 or 3 seasons.

I liked the walking dead until Negan, then everything seemed about him for season after season,,, God someone just shoot him.
season 1 is a lot better when you go back after seeing season 6, it seems a lot darker than I remember also

This show sucks. They skipped the best part - the zombie outbreak - and went right to being just another season of the original walking dead snoozefest. Yeah we get it, bad people will take over. yawn. As if everyone is just going to be evil. I'd like to see survivors fighting for an actual reason, not just because their is some over-the-top evil bad guy in charge. It's cringey.
I think Jericho did a better job of showing how paranoia, mistrust, and the need to survive leads to towns fighting over scarce resources. The Walking Dead is just whacky super villians killing people for shock value, it's completely stupid.
