Oh god, no matter what RW would do, I'd listen. His storytelling is of beyond the mere earthly ways.....Ihe's from a better Celtic, sweet zone than the rest of us. Thank you for so much. I would love to see him live again. Last time was in 1970 in the U.S. Love him.
Saw Robin the other week. Inspirational! He is honoured by the vast band of those who have been moved by his words and music over the las 40+ years and is still touching peoples hearts.
Wow, you need to get out more often. Have you ever heard Robin Williamson tell stories and play the harp? He's brilliant. This piece is mostly Robin singing, but if you're a fan of RW, then you know that this is just something they're doing between the stories to give the crowd a rest. Give him another chance, especially with his stories. The man just sparkles...
He din't write it, 'cause Fairport Convention did a version of it, called "Bonny Bunch of Roses". But I think maybe he improvised the tune, and some of the words. Brilliant performer!
first saw him and mike heading towards the folk boat in the 1960s in glasgow. . i said to my girlfriend that i should have brought my guitar how foolish was I. onboard i heard the ISB for the first time. hamish imlach and alex campbell were there too.
It was Robin Williamson's misfortune to be born in an age when the great bards are no longer celebrated. Or even understood, by some. I hope more of his incomparable music finds its way onto TH-cam.
@Accordeonaire i disagree-i have listened to both tunes this is better. i agree RW is brilliant not just his playing but the arrangement and his plantiff voice. how do you lag such a heavy instrument around. i think ill just stick to guitar at least you can hit unruly audience members with it.
To me it seems that his singing and guitar playing are both nfuluenced by his harp playing. Love him, his poetry and his musicianship. I saw Chris Caswell and Robin Williamson play in a workshop like this years ago - I don't think I've ever witnessed a better show.

I had the pleasure of seeing John Renbourn and Robin Williamson a bouple of years ago. One of the most wonderful evenings of music I've witnessed.
Just wonderful! Got tickets to see him & Bina in Stratford later in the year. Magical.

Brum! Wish I had gone xxx
Words match Dan Milner and Paul Kaplans book of the same name with a version from Daithi Sproule. Great to see and listen to.

Like O'Carolan come back to earth again.
Brilliant, down with the thumb downers :)
does someone off stage yell "fuck off!" at some point? robin turns and looks.
Still the 'vaulting melody' approach I love of RW. He must have wrote this.
what ever happened to mike heron?? i saw the isb TWICE at the fillmore (east).
Could someone please tell me the name of the song? thanksssss
The bonny bunch of roses.
I always thought Renbourn was an old acid head
wow are you serious? in some ways i can imagine he can be like that, but id never have believed it,
