    He is absolutely the best rapper out there in my opinion. Not even close. Find me another with his soul and style. I love this man. This song. How he hasn't blown up to me boggles my mind.

    I've been listening to Prof for a few weeks now and I got to tell you I love the guy. Everything he's about. And when I heard this song, It hits at a different way you get the hear his voice. And it starts slow but then he really gets into it and it gets higher and higher. The microphone can't even pick up the vocals at the end. It's amazing!

    this is my favorite Prof song, and not only because it's my new favorite song to sing.

    He's from the Powderhorn neighborhood in Minneapolis. That is where the first buildings (including the police precinct) were burned to the ground in 2020.

    Watching Prof's "live" videos is definitely the best way to appreciate his talent. I genuinely think he's the best live performer of any genre right now. I can't wait to see him in April when his tour comes through ATL.

      I agree but I also don't. This live version in particular is fuckin' really good. But the fire lessons one doesn't compare to album version imo.
      There's definitely something to be said for his studio production value. Same can be said for the added value that the original video brings to this song.
      The man can sing and rap his ass off either way.

      Interesting... I have a lot of opinions on the George Floyd protests and the protestors but I love how deep this song was and the clear emotion he showed in singing it. Outright my favorite Prof song so far!

      @@DreamersDreamBig I can understand having some kind of view about the specific George Floyd situation -- our culture, driven by the media, spent a lot of time making sure everyone has some kind of take about the specific situation. Lost in that conversation, though, is the bigger picture. About whether we as a society are best served by the violent and dehumanizing systems that seemed to take lives of their own in our world. I don't think we are best served by those systems, but we'll never get to talk about that layer when the main beneficiaries of that system make sure we always feel some type of way about the specific, zoomed in events like Floyd. So lost in the trees, we never think about the forest.

    • @muleb384
      @muleb384 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DreamersDreamBig Not saying you specifically haven't thought about the bigger picture, just generally... the polarizing events never produce productive social conversation.

    • @DreamersDreamBig
      @DreamersDreamBig  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Completely agree! My views on the George Floyd situation are just that. We focused in on the specific murder of this man because he’s black and it feeds into the “police are racist” narrative but we ignore the fact that entire justice system is set up to profit off of the imprisonment of people regardless of race, age, gender, or any other factor. Any system that is financially benefitting off of the removal of rights from individuals is inherently flawed but many get lost in the “defund police” narrative instead of zooming out and taking a look at the bigger picture

    • @bryankarst3881
      @bryankarst3881 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DreamersDreamBig The George Floyd murder was one of the most dehumanizing, and sick things I have ever seen. And what is crazy is people had to stand and watch because they were so afraid of what would happen to them if they stepped in. The police are supposed to protect us, and yet I know any time I see a cop I get worried and go the other way. I have been beaten by cops when I did absolutely nothing
      In terms of the riots....some people were just taking advantage of the situation but many weren't. You can only whisper for so long and be ignored....at some point you have to scream.
