Two disciplines from two masters, yet both methods work together. Jackie teaches discipline from hard won effort and doing the best of what you practice. Jet teaches to know everything before knowing yourself and what you can accomplish.
now i understand. "Learn it all, and Forget it all" you know how to do the way, but you do not contain or limit yourself to what you learned. hence you find your own way to do things that is best for you.
After all these years I finally understand this message. Kung Fu isn't martial arts in of itself. Kung Fu is the discipline of one's self. Hard work towards the mastery of your craft, profession, physical training etc. Whatever it is you've dedicated your life to.🤯" Nothing is softer than water, yet it can overcome rock" is a literal and metaphorical example of the ability to do anything you set your mind to.
"be like water" that meaning had so much meaning. I started out in martial arts 22 years ago and I knew it had a powerful meaning but I knew I wouldn't be able to fully truly understand the ways of adapting like Lee and his jkd students could. After years and years of training, fighting and learning other styles I finally truly understand Bruce lee's powerful words of adaption and going with the flow to overcome the immovable enemy.
Wisdom. We have forgotten to listen to our elders. We have forgotten to listen to mother earth. We need to go back to basics. Only then will we regain our humanity. Much love to all.
Great! Thanks for uploading the video with perfect duration! That's also Kung-fu :)....For me it is my regular Yoga practice or even simple things in life which I try to live in the moment! That's it.
First, you must mold yourself to the form then break that mold and allow yourself to flow. Simply flow. Disconnect from your muscles and nerves and allow your spirit to observe while the body simply flows.
The way that student encounters a lot of hard work and some other intensive Kung fu practice. That is the similar obstacle and hard work I’ve been doing since when I was red belt in learning karate. The good example is where when I was 18 years old therefore I did struggle a lot with roundhouse kicks. Likewise, I once spent sometimes 1 or 2 hours perfecting the technique and 9 months later I resulted in kicking high to the head every time I attend karate classes. And that is how I decided to invest my passionate energy for it. 🎯🎯🎯
my Kung-Fu is Archery, i train every day from a young age to make that one perfect shot, from quiver to target, one fluid motion, for that one moment when it is needed to bring down that once in a lifetime buck. What is your Kung-Fu?
The way of the Sword. To be able to move, to flow in those moments in battle between one strike and the next. When time seems to stop, to slow to almost complete stillness and Eternity hangs on the edge of a knife, and to Balance there, for as long as you can.
Also archery, which in my case includes holding extra arrows (typically three) in the draw hand for close succession from the right side of the bow. There's speed shooting and trick shooting, landing arrows THROUGH a tough plastic bottle by hitting it directly enough to not deflect. If you haven't read "The Way of Archery", the teachings of Gao Ying from the Ming dynasty, you should check that book out it's so vivid and detailed :D
Writing is my Kung Fu. To be able to make world's in your mind real by allowing a person to read the words you write, and create that same world in their own mind. To continue looking for the write way to describe what's going on in that world, and pushing forward when you can't think of how to write it.
First time I went to a boxing gym coach told me to forgot everything and when I acted like a complete newbie I remembered this wcen. If your cup is full how can you fill it up more?
"Learn it all then forget it all"
My favorite quote of all time especially at school
It reminds me of "you must UNLEARN what you have learned" from another master of a different style
Irony is human will always remember things that they want to forget
Two disciplines from two masters, yet both methods work together.
Jackie teaches discipline from hard won effort and doing the best of what you practice.

I've always kept Bruce Lee's "Be like Water" quote in my heart.
Nice reminder to flow moves perfectly together.

Watching this as a kid gave me more confidence as I got older to defend myself with self defense.

100% agree my fellow martial arts brother
Great example of how difficult training and experiences pay off. I feel like lot of us can lose sight of that when things get hard.
Wise words from Jackie Chan and Jet Li.
I play this video at least once a day, and I use this wisdom at work
Jackie teaches him how to fight.
Jet teaches him how to master skills.
Forbidden Kingdom, such a good movie. So forgotten in the 2020s, we need more martial arts films in America like we used to have.
Agreed. The only movie where we'll ever see Jet Li & Jackie Chan on screen together.
I found a good one from the 1980s, entitled “The Last Dragon”

I would love to learn different forms of martial arts from two masters.

Maybe just listening to music and imaginate a story in another world.

Mine is aikido. Trying to mostly train my mind when it comes to inner peace. Also with work on my flexibility for acrobatics.

There’s no short cut to learning how to fight. You either put the work into it or you don’t.
