As someone in your position currently as well the best way to grind for me is doing the 160 game season in Legend III over and over. If you have a full gold pitch rotation it should be easy.
This game gets harder and harder the farther you get and it gets more expensive gems coins and skill points get more and more expensiv. I think I will delete this app I don't have the money to keep updating these players.
