I’ve found the opposite. When I move my aloe into a more shaded area of the garden it always looks much better. I’ve done this many times over many years and I’d settled on the hypothesis that they prefer shadier rather than sunnier spots 😮😊
Agreed. My plant was going brown, thought it was dying. It was by a glass door, which I thought was a perfect, very light spot. Then I learned from TH-cam that it was getting too much light. I moved it to a shadier room, and within 4 days it was nearly back to normal. It's never been happier than sitting in the middle of my living room., nowhere near any windows or doors.
Yup mines looks brown in the sun and that’s with a white shade filtering it soon as I move back to kitchen island lots of shade it perks up and gets greener lol
This is a great video! I did notice that she's not answering people's questions, though, and that's too bad. Interaction with those who follow is really important, I think.
I've rescued a new aloe vera plant yesterday and learning lots about it! It was completely dry in the soil and the leaves were going soft! And found one leaf that was completely dead on it when I found her at the store! So my staff members helped me get her! And once she was home I watered her the correct way! And I plan on getting everything she needs to survive better! Thanks for your video it helps me out!
I got my mom's aloe yesterday and I a bit worried because my unit will not be the same light as it was at her house. It was in the sun too long and she put it in the shade and she said it's doing a lot better. I put it on top of my suitcase near the window lol hopefully it's enough sunlight. Needs a good drink of water too and my old cactus. Sending love from my Jamaican flavored breadfruit roasting roots 🇯🇲❤️🇯🇲❤️🇯🇲
Please help. My aloe vera leaves are dark green, hard and only seem to produce liquid instead of gel😢 I live in a hot sunny place. So they get a lot of sun and grow upward, but I would like for them to produce gel, not just liquid. Any tips?
Thanks for explaining that aloin might be responsible for why I was only ever able to use the store-bought aloe. I gave a 75 year old (inherited) Aloe plant to a friend a few years back, because I couldn't figure out what the "problem" was. I can't wait to buy one soon... since I now live in Germany, it might be more difficult to give her (my medicinal plants are always with a female pronoun) enough light... but indoor grow lights should do the trick.
I’ve been using Aloe Vera my whole life and my parents and grand parents. I know all about the yellow latex stuff. But have u ever seen Aloe Vera gel with a red or hot pink tint on top of the gel? I used some tea tree oil in some gel I had ran through my nutri bullet to make frozen cubes for cleansing my face. I thought I had gotten all the yellow stuff out but the tea tree oil actually made more appear and separated it. I tried putting a few drops of tea tree oil in this gel with the pink stuff on top. It turned all the gel I had poured off the top of it red. I’ve never seen anything like this b4. It’s also the same plant and off shoots I’ve been using for 7+ years for it’s gel. I’ve went through so many Aloe Vera videos. Looked on line, nothing! Was curious if u knew anything about this hot pink, red gel on top of the aloe Vera gel. I’ve used it like the other gel, just used an eye dropper that sucked the gel from the bottom. Not brave enough to use the different colored stuff off the top. If I’ve heard or seen anything like this let me know please.
My Aloes burn every year in Central Florida, they are in ground and shaded partially throughout the day, almost impossible for them not to burn in the full sun in Florida during summer
To get rid of the latex you trim the edges, cut the leaf, and let it soak in water for an hour. To be safe I let it soak in water overnight in the refrigerator.
@mindtheleaves9914 i have an aloe for about 1 year ,it has no pups ,i barrely wait to grow pups ,do you know how much i have to wait for the aloe to grow some pups?
I would have liked to have seen a handful of soil spread over the table perhaps so's I can know the texture, consistency. And why does soaking in water fix the aloin? chemical reaction or simply dissolves in the water?
I brought a nice big plant for £5. But noticed the tips brown. It is over the other side of the room. Where light comes in. I did repot it keeping the original soil on the roots. But I don't know if I added to much water? I use tap water.
Mine got knocked down by a cat, yesterday. If you can just firmly press it into place, do that, and perhaps, add a chopstick or something that you can push in all the way to the bottom of the pot, and then use a ribbon (or something else that's more gentle) and just prop it upright.
repotting.. you want to keep your succulents in the smallest pot that you can that keeps them from falling over, if they are so top heavy that they fall over thats a sign to repot, or put it into a heavier container if you are growing in plastic pots.. but dont go up too large.. you want to limit the amount of soil its in so when you water there isnt so much moisture that the plant cant use it
You're quirky and adorable. 😋 Thanks for the video. I just learned that I have been growing the wrong species of Aloe for like 7 years! Lucky I only had the gel internally a couple of times, whoops!
Can you use the aloe gel from any aloe or only from the aloe vera plant? I have a mitre aloe and was wondering if I could use it's gel for an excema type problem I have currently.
you can chop them into smaller pieces and add to the soil of whatever you might be growing - including back the soil of the mother plant. I hope you'll see this💚
You absolutely should! it's such a great plant to have around the house. Try these tips and see if you can't make one your friend. Sending you good vibes! :)
My aloe plant looks great. I haven’t seen any signs in the actual leaves but every time I water it, the soil is bone dry by the next day. I don’t want to water it again because I’m scared of overwatering. It’s in the same container/soil that I bought it in. But the soil dries up so fast. Any idea why this could be happening?
Sounds like too much water but I could be wrong. I have drizzled a tiny bit of hydrogen peri oxide in my soil before to kill anything weird. Not a ton though just a couple tiny drips.
There is some misinformation here , my goodness …. I want to start but it’s quite a bit , as a Aloe Vera grower this is frustrating… I clicked just to see if it was any new information, I’ve been growing for a few years now, I have 27 Aloe Vera’s , I started with ONE💚💚💚I absolutely LOVE my ALOES!!! If ANYONE has questions you are more than free to ask me!!! I wish I could post s picture of my beautiful beauties💚💚💚💚💚
Im from ST Thomas and this is everywhere. Evwrybody uses for medicine for intestinal cleansing and digestion with coffee or alone. We dont really have them as house plants because you can walk anywhere in any dorection and you will find a billion of these everywhere you walk 🤷

It's my favorite plant! It releases oxygen mostly at night, so it's great to keep in your bedroom.

THANK YOU 🌈 Aloin is a valuable and medicinal part of the plant and helps with external wound healing
I eat aloe vera once a week, this increases my libido by 60%. Great stuff.

I bought a couple LED grow lights and they seem to be working our really well
I always drain the aloin fore about 30minets. And water once a month all year long. And they are happy and doing well.

Thank you so much for the video. I did not know about aloe in(?), so I need to do some adjusting to my use. ..
Nice video I've learnt a lot about aloe plants
for some reason skinning the leaf right in front of the aloe plant felt brutal 😫
I get that same feeling when I see wooden telephone/power poles next to live trees. The living ones gotta be thinking, "What happened to him?" 😂
Wow very good information
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people grow these plants for the medicinal value they have.
26k views and counting, a lot of aloe or there
Does aloe releave thrus-on tongue

Ive seen it on mine too!!
Haha, yeey, you are so cute, i love how you hug the Aloe! And thank you for explaining all of this =}
And it's such a complete video! Love that you explain about the Alloin.. i study herbal medicine and didn't know this yet. Yeey!
This is so helpful, thank you very much!
My Aloes burn every year in Central Florida, they are in ground and shaded partially throughout the day, almost impossible for them not to burn in the full sun in Florida during summer
I have 2 aloe plants one from Bunnings warehouse, and the other is a teeny tiny aloe which I ordered from Etsy from interstate Australia...
To get rid of the latex you trim the edges, cut the leaf, and let it soak in water for an hour. To be safe I let it soak in water overnight in the refrigerator.
Oooo thanks! I'm not very good with Aloe and I need to be reminded of how to care for them.
You are very welcome! I'm glad I could help. 🙂💚

Thank you. Best info video.
Do you leave the part you didn't cut or remove it from the base? I have been using mine for skincare and I would love to know.(:
Aloe's also perfer slightly acidic soil to help it grow
I have an aloe plant that got knocked around (as well as cut for wound healing and now it wants to tip over. Should I plant it "deeper" in the soil?

How do you store the rest of it once you break it off and use it but there’s still a lot left from that one stem?
You can store it in the fridge for about a week, or freeze it. It lasts for many months in the freezer.
My suculant have babies growing of the sides. How do I repot them and how?
Can you use the aloe gel from any aloe or only from the aloe vera plant? I have a mitre aloe and was wondering if I could use it's gel for an excema type problem I have currently.
What do you do with the parts of the aloe vera not used?
you can chop them into smaller pieces and add to the soil of whatever you might be growing - including back the soil of the mother plant. I hope you'll see this💚
So all they need is 4 hours is sunlight a day? I think mine is thinning out bc I kept it by my window as a permanent spot.
Thanks Sam!
thank you Sam
Excellent video- thank you much!
Thanks for the helpful info love the video.
Thanks! Good video.
I have bad luck with the medicinal aloe. I can not get them to thrive. After watching this I might have to try again!

It might need repotting. They do like to be potbound, but if the dry out that quickly and you see pups that's a good indication to repot or propogate.
Thank you so much ❤️
The video very useful, ilove alo Veri , I'm following from iraq 💚🌷
Hi! Thank you so much! I'm so glad it was helpful! 💚🙂
@@mindtheleaves9914 😘😘😘😘😘
Thanks!
I accidentally dropped the plant. 😭 some of the beautiful leaves broke. I the broken leaves back in the soil. HELP PLEASE!
Mine doesn’t flower. They say all aloe Vera should flower. If it doesn’t it’s not aloe. I’m just trying to confirm or deny this ❤
Awesome thanks
very cool
Thank you so much!
How can I tell which aloe I have as I don’t want to use the gel from the wrong aloe
Google it, the one with the yellow flowers is generally the best it's the only one that you can consume, I managed to score one today 😊
Not me cackling at the part about the cats because my furry brat will also chomp every leaf she can get her rude little paws on 😂
Can you leave plant on your toung
What if the leaves turn yellow at the base?
Sounds like too much water but I could be wrong. I have drizzled a tiny bit of hydrogen peri oxide in my soil before to kill anything weird. Not a ton though just a couple tiny drips.

Could you use led lights?
Only if they are specifically grow lights. 🙂
they will not have the pretty white spots with out sun, i keep mine in my east window with grow lights

I agree!! And very helpful!
It’s hard to concentrate on the video with all that background noise
How to get it to go live in prison in the cold how to get a refined back
How to write a coherent sentence ...
Your audio is not very good. Buy a mike you can wear and it will much improve your video. I can't listen to it like it is.
it stinks to high heaven, so i do NOT use it on my skin, at all
only at first then smell goes away..
