Great review! However… don’t under estimate that MedFord… Greg snd his team do a phenomenal masterpiece in building their craft… in every design. I own a few.. I just added this one to my collection. SMKWS… had the 2021 Blade Show model. I bought it without even inspecting it.. that’s how confident I am in their knives. I too have a WWII Mark II. Almost in 95% condition …
I think it was great to see MedFord come out with one of these…. Beautiful !

May I ask, the guard of this knife appears to be composed of two pieces of steel. I don't know if it's sturdy, will it loosen after long-term use??
Have you ever disassembled this knife? I would like to know how the guard is fixed? The image searched online feels like below the guard, there seems to be only the two G10 pieces pressed against the guard by hand,
I'm afraid that the G10 on the handle will wear out soon and cause the guard to loosen. Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my question!
I really want to buy this Medford USMC knife, but I can't find the answer to this question. I really hope you can help me. Thank you

Cpm s35 is a great steel. Came out in 2009,and is basically the next generation of s30. Which was developed by sal Glaser of spyderco,Ernst emerson, chris Reeves, and many more knife makers. It was designed specifically for knife making. I believe Rockwell hardness is around 60,but don't quote me on that.

The original has the best steel of the three for a fix blade. S35VN has no business being on a fixed blade. Its a folder steel. Thanks for the video

Hey KA BAR is the model for the military, not the manufacturer. The Company came about (I believe) after the military knives were being used.

Mike Fox hi, as far as I know the model
      name was USN mark2 (1942).
Union cutlery (kabar) made some of the knives used in ww2.

jay unitedwestand been long time since I’ve made a video.
      Made one today.
It is a good well made “hard use” knife. And for people who can afford it- it is indeed something worth trying.
The have a 3v version I wasn’t aware of, and I think it is better for that kind of a knife.

Good video👍. For a fighting-utility knife the USMC knives are battle tested. I mean fighting knives are lightweight and agile so the USMC knives were easily maneuverable. The Cold Steel leatherneck is made of better steel but the weight is same more or less I suppose. But the Medford knife is heavy and bulky as well as overbuilt. It's a sharpened prybar. It's kinda weird apocalyptic knife which will surely weigh me down. So I wouldn't go for a Medford knife for fighting. No disrespect.

Well, you too, before commenting; This knife IS CPM S35VN steel/
if it they will have GEN.2 with another steel, great. but for now - this is the model blade steel. you can look for yourself:
