Climate change persists as a security threat - although headlines are grabbed by other conflicts and geopolitical tensions. If anything, multiple concurring crises have shown how climate change is interlinked with other crises, and exacerbates risks to energy and food systems, as well as supply chains.
Countries such as Finland and Germany have aimed to contribute to global climate security through multilateralism. What kinds of concrete solutions can these policies offer for climate security? How can these be promoted amidst rising geopolitical tensions?
FIIA’s next Climate Briefing will focus on these questions. The topic will be introduced by Janani Vivekananda, Head of Programme Climate Diplomacy and Security at adelphi, followed by discussion with Emma Hakala, Leading researcher at FIIA.
    Speakers:
Janani Vivekananda, Head of Programme Climate Diplomacy and Security, adelphi
    Emma Hakala, Leading Researcher, FIIA
