HIGHLY recommended: [LIVE] Dreamcatcher(드림캐쳐) _ JUSTICE | dancEAR | 댄스이어 | 라이브 퍼포먼스 | Live Performance | 4K From 1theK No filter raw live vocal of this song with choreo. Unfortuntely also the only live version with Siyeon.
Thanks for checking all these out. I really loved Bonvoyage on a first listen but seeing them perform it in a concert setting just takes it over the top. It's definitely got that emotional core that DC is so good at delivering. OOTD took several listens for me to get my head around it but after I did it hits hard. Dreamcatcher are always experimenting so there's bound to be songs that people don't like on a first or even 5th listen, but I've found that the DC ladies could sing a phone book and I'd still love it. Basically, their voices + anything = great. Justice is so empowering, and that theme really goes through the whole Virtuous EP. 2 Rings was the one song from the Highlight Medley I was sure about when I first heard it, but I really like it. It's got a bit of a country rock vibe, which is definitely not something I normally enjoy, but somehow, they always find a way to make me fall in love with genres I wouldn't normally enjoy. REALLY looking forward to your album reactions. They have the best discography I've ever come across and it's easily the most diverse as well. It's jammed full of so many different genres and sub-genres of music. I figure you may have started already but if not, keep in mind that there are a BUNCH of special clips and performances floating around. Mostly stuff on their channel but also Its Live and a few other channels.
I think I’ve watched most of their special clips in my Diving In series, but there are probably some I’ve missed. When I go through the albums I’m just going to listen to the audio though, no visuals - I might use lyric videos but that’s it.
When DC performed OOTD in Kaohsiung recently Dami let that fuxk go out so loudly and aggressive that my soul left my body ngl. Never expected her to do it like that.
I loved OOTD when it came out after giving it a second listen on my drive to work that morning! I was genuinely surprised by the amount of people who disliked it when I finally got a chance to go online. I half jokingly say that I don't think I can be friends with people who hate this song lmao
"Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace. There are still many things I don't know. For example, why are all three titles in French. 😉 (And why are there 3 Damis with 7 shadows...) The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. At first glance you could think OOTD is about them being proud and happy with themselves, about confidence. I don't think that is it though. The album is called VersuS VillainS, which makes me think it is not this simple. So I believe this song is meant as a criticism of narcissism, vanity, materialism and also (maybe) the fast fashion industry. "OOTD" stands for "Outfit of the Day" after all, maybe it's about useless instagram fashion-influencers posting videos of their outfit of the day, which also promotes fast fashion. The fact that fashion is moving ever faster makes it the most destructive industry to the planet only outdone by the fossil fuel industry. The Aral lake has all but disappeared because of the cotton industry for example. It would fit to the Villain image, and you can see in the MV that they are acting. It is shown in the scene where Yoohyeon and Handong are fighting, but then the camera is off and Handong helps Yoohyeon up. The main reason why I don't think it is about confidence or their own success is the line "Driving on the highway, drunken everyday, do you feel like a monster?" and the album title. That just doesn't fit. And there was the ymenehcra (arch enemy backwards) account posting about touching a crown is dangerous and other cryptic messages before the comeback. It could also be a big and well-hidden F*U to the Kpop industry, like the Nightmare arc probably was. The narcissism and materialism is definitely criticized here, and Dreamcatcher have been criticized a lot themselves because of their rock/metal concept, while other groups have been celebrated for using a guitar riff once in a song. And Handong standing in front of the camera with bruises all over her legs seems to be a comment on the merciless industry as well. The music is highly interesting as well. The Rock is dirty and distorted. The song structure is not what you'd expect at all, for me it is funk rock meets K-Pop. Not their usual spiel, but a very good progression. It takes a couple of listens to really appreciate it. In Justice, there is an 8th person entering the frame just at the end. Just like ymenehcra for OOTD, an account named 9mynameis1 has been posting messages before the comeback. She said her 7 friends became obsessed with the crown and have not been responding anymore, which corresponds with the secret diary Siyeon is reading. The text there reads "How are you? I'm worried because you aren't replying.... 9 1" So what we are seeing here is the 7 friends (Dreamcatcher) getting rid of their obsession with the crown (materialism, narcicism) by literally destroying it. There is also a lot of imagery about death and legendary figures like Valkyries. Reddit user PaintMeYaBasic has managed to identify these paintings in the MV: Hero by Edward Burne-Jones (from the tale of Hero and Leander), Valkyrie and a Dying Hero by Hans Makart, Hero and Leander by Salvator Rosa and finally "Justice" by Kenyon Cox in the center back. In the tale of Hero and Leander from Greek mythology, Hero is actually a priestess of Aphrodite (Venus in the Roman myths), so that is not the same as the hero who is taken from the battlefield by a Valkyrie in the other painting. But OOTD has the line "I'm Venus, Nephthys, call me a Goddess". It is likely there is a connection. While OOTD was about falling for the temptations of modern life and a satire on narcicism (especially influencers and fast fashion), I believe Justice is telling us to fight those temptations for a better world. It is a call to become a warrior for good in the world and fight the materialism that seems to be the most important thing for many people in the developed countries. You can see JiU break the bonds that hold her down, and we should do the same. There are also many references to their older MVs in this. The paintings also have a deeper meaning in Chase me, there is a sword in Deja Vu and Scream, the bite into the apple is a callback to BEcause and the tree to the Dystopia trilogy - and so on. There are many more. The 8th figure in the end could also be JiU from Deja Vu, finally breaking the cycle of violence and providing justice. Musically, I love the song. The guitars in the chorus are pure heaven (just like Dongie with her wings). It has the right amount of heaviness for me, and it is an anthem and a call to action. Justice is a brilliant, epic release, showing everyone that a group can still produce fantastic music and MVs after 7 and a half years. I can't help it, I deeply respect these ladies and their whole team.
Would you be up to reacting to BABYMETAL? I would suggest recent live performances of their songs Monochrome, Road of Resistance, from their PIA Arena 2023 concerts, and Syncopation from their Legend MM 2024. I don’t usually do live performances on the channel but I’m definitely gonna watch that off camera!!
@@6TonGuppy You don't usually have songs with 5 different singers doing high belts while the other two has deep power notes :)
VersuS is duology. OOTD, Justice
2 Rings 🏍 is officially my all-time favorite song of theirs.
I cry when I listen to Dreamcatcher's song
We know Dreamcatcher is a genre ! Thanks

Me when I sing along in my car lmao
t.A.T.u. mention.👍
I remember VAST! They had a bit of a hit with a song called Touched that made it into some movies and TV show soundtracks.
Yep! That song and Pretty When You Cry are the ones that Justice reminded me of!

Dreamcatcher said Shut Up and Fight Me.
You said "I would" to something that kills everybody who does.
I'm ready to die for Dreamcatcher tbh
