In a group I am in on facebook I saw the Buffol sweater for the first time just before this. someone explained that the team was owned by a pepsi compabny person which explains a lot.
RE: The NY Raiders. It was the creation of the Raiders(as one of the original WHA teams) that led to the creation of the Isles...basically to block the WHA's position in NY.
What a great series, except you lost me at Anaheim when you didn’t recognize the 92/93 Pee Wee state champion, District 5 Mighty Ducks logo front and center. You should know that being a hockey/hockey jersey fan! 😝
In 1893 when the first Stanley Cup was giving by Lord Stanley there were 5 teams Ottawa Hockey Club , Montreal Hockey Club affiliated with the Montréal Amateur Athletic Association (MAAA) aka Winged Wheel, Montreal Chrystal, Québec Hockey Club , Montreal Victoria. Each team play 8 games. Two against each other. 1on the road 1 at home. the winner was Montréal Hockey Club.
The Edmonton Ice only played for 2 years in the WHL(96-98). They moved to Cranbrook, BC and became the Kootenay Ice, and stayed there until 2019. The WHL team that’s been in existence the longest in Edmonton is the Edmonton Oil Kings.
As someone who grew up watching kootenay ice(and always recreating them in NHL games) that is something I never knew but, love. Thanks for the information
Great Video, I love the Anaheim Ducks, Montreal Canadians and Philadelphia Flyers Jersey, Vancouver Canucks, I don’t like the Los Vegas Golden Knights concept, Arizona Cyotoes, Washington Capitals, Winnipeg Jets, Tampa Bay Lightning, Minnesota Wild, and Dallas Stars
Time for Neil to go to hockey history school, specializing in World Hockey Association teams. P.S. Ottawa should have referenced the Ottawa Nationals or even the extremely short lived Ottawa Civics (WHA).
The combined jet/thrashers t logo was made by myself. Thanks for the feature. I love hockey jersey history and might have to do another round of these for some lesser known teams.
Niel can you rank PWHL Jerseys? Also can you do more ranking videos instead of reacting? It would be really great to see you design a set of Jersey's and then sharing them!
I once saw a logo someone made for the Wings that uses the style of the Vipers logo but with the Octopus, that would be cool if you did an IHL concept!
Hamilton-Ottawa connection is that Hamilton was expected to get the expansion franchise but lost at the last minute. There’s always an undercurrent of “ this should be us” when we see them play
He should have used the Long Island Ducks of the EHL for the Islanders concept jersey. The Ducks beat the Nashville Dixi Flyers in the 64 championship for the EHL. After they were defunct LI was devastated to lose its beloved hockey team. The fact that there was a proven market is why the Islanders were granted an NHL franchise here.
Missed a couple of opportunities. Carolina hurricanes mixed with the Raleigh ice caps. Then the islanders and Long Island ducks! Very cool concept love these Friday videos!!!!
Someone else may have gotten to it before me, but on the lighting jersey that is the blue angels. They are stationed in Pensacola and they do training all the time on base. I remember seeing them flying around when I was there for my Mos school a few years ago.
A new drinking game has evolved! Every time Neil says "never heard of them", take a shot of whiskey. Let's see who is not sliding under the table by the end of the video.
Showing my age here, but I remember my dad taking me to Boston Braves games at Boston Garden when I was a kid.......Terry O'Reilly came out of the Braves. I would love to find a Braves jersey
Totally understand, I just didn't want to miss out on doing the Tigers and I really liked the toros for the Leafs so that left Ottawa as the only real option
The Ottawa Nationals were one of the original WHA teams that moved to Toronto that became the Toros. Ottawa did have their own jerseys..look it up! @@gordons9
Michagan Stags were before the Los angeles sharks and played part of 74-75 season, They had Mark tardif and traded him to the Nordiques and finished season as Baltimore Blades.
I would definitely do that next time. I just wanted to make sure I did defunct NHL teams before anything else and Hamilton felt less dirty to link with Ottawa than Toronto
Oh man, he missed an opportunity with detroit.. Detroit had an IHL team called the Detroit Vipers. Neil check out that gem of a jersey lol. They played up at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Using Montreal Maroons livery or colours for a Habs jersey belies that the teams were arch rivals when they co-existed. That's a non-starter idea, in my opinion. History does matter, and you wouldn't wear the colours of your main rival, would you? (Same for using a NY Americans look for Rangers: the teams both played in the league simultaneously from 1926 to 1942 - they were obviously rivals of one another.)
If this is supposed to be a mashup between the current team and a definit team from the city/region, I think this is quite a lazy concept pack. Several concepts here are pretty much the same as the original and just a current logo shoulders patch. This is unfortunately a no for me.
I love that Tampa jersey. The two tone blue and gold is fantastic.
I have been thinking Lightning should use yellow. It would help make them different from Toronto. Plus ⚡️
In a group I am in on facebook I saw the Buffol sweater for the first time just before this. someone explained that the team was owned by a pepsi compabny person which explains a lot.
The Vegas has to be my favourite one, my cousin played for the Thunder in the mid 90s

You just prooved that the Canucks and Senators should play a heritage game in Vancouver and wear Jerseys honoring those teams
This video made me feel REALLY old because I recall all of those old WHA teams and knew the logos as soon as I saw them.
You should do a whl jersey concept video
The Montreal, New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Vegas, Winnipeg were all really nice imo!
Tampa needs to implement a yellow in their jersey!

The jets jersey looks fire! 🔥
I will keep making thrashers jets mashup jerseys with that logo until those cowards actually do it lmao.
@@gordons9pretty sure they lost the rights to the Thrashers branding in the deal

i’m always looking forward to these because all the jerseys look amazing
Calgary Cowboys and Quebec Nordiques are my favourites

Good stuff man jerseys are sick
@@z1mmy9 thank you!
You need to learn about WHA teams and do a video on them.
Niel can you rank PWHL Jerseys? Also can you do more ranking videos instead of reacting? It would be really great to see you design a set of Jersey's and then sharing them!
You are right the defunct players went to Americans team. Hamilton was affiliated with Quebec bulldogs
Seattle Vancouver and Anahiem are my favs
How Unbelievable!
There was a missed opportunity for the Wings, doing one for the Detroit Vipers would’ve been the best option!!
Love the Vipers logo/colors just wanted to prioritize NHL and WHA
I once saw a logo someone made for the Wings that uses the style of the Vipers logo but with the Octopus, that would be cool if you did an IHL concept!
The Buffalo one is inspired by the old hockey team owned by Pepsi
Owned by the Pepsi bottlers in Buffalo.
hey Neil, I don't comment much but I love the content and this series. long live P2P
Hamilton-Ottawa connection is that Hamilton was expected to get the expansion franchise but lost at the last minute. There’s always an undercurrent of “ this should be us” when we see them play
New York Raiders played 72-73 than became Knights then the Mariners. Your NHL knowledge is impeccable
That Stags logo is so cute

The Hamilton Tigers were originally called the Quebec Bulldogs. And you are correct, the Tigers players were sold to the New York Americans
For Ottawa, i would have used the Ottawa Civics(WHA) or even the first version of the Sens(the striped jersey)
Totally understand, I just didn't want to miss out on doing the Tigers and I really liked the toros for the Leafs so that left Ottawa as the only real option

100% NO ONE has done a good Washington Capitals alternate/home/away redo yet.
These are fantastic!!!!
The guy should have included the WHA Ottawa Nationals jersey instead of the crazy Hamilton Ottawa connection
Current AHL team is Tuscon Roadrunners
Hi and why did I get here at 42 second
The Michigan Stags played only one season in the WHA in 1974-75. The team folded after that. The league took over & moved them to Baltimore.
@post2postproductions what do you think of those Tampa Bay lightning jerseys with the Buccaneers influence?
I can't believe they did Ottawa dirty! The Ottawa Nationals from the WHA, could have been used for the jersey concept!
I would definitely do that next time. I just wanted to make sure I did defunct NHL teams before anything else and Hamilton felt less dirty to link with Ottawa than Toronto
The Montreal one looks like as if someone got the event in hoi4 where England and French are under one union. Kind of cursed.
Oh man, he missed an opportunity with detroit.. Detroit had an IHL team called the Detroit Vipers. Neil check out that gem of a jersey lol. They played up at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Awesome team if I do it again they'll be on the list. NHL and WHA got priority since I wanted to go for more known teams when I could.

I’m not getting the concepts why is one the inspiration logo and the next the nhl teams logo
The Buffalo logo looked like Pepsi because the team was owned by the local Pepsi bottles.
Buffalo Bisons Ahl 1940 - 1970
Stop forcing the Thrashers on the Winnipeg Jets.
Kootenay Ice moved from Edmonton
Unrelated, but bring back the og intro
