  • Salah (Prayer) is undoubtedly the pillar of Islamic faith. In this first lecture of the series, Sayed Mohammed Baqer Al-Qazwini examines the history of prayer in previous historic civilizations, which stimulated from a natural built-in need within humans to worship a higher, unlimited entity.
Within the discussion, we learn about the incident through which Salah was mandated and made obligatory in Islam, and how the daily prayers commanded by God were reduced from 50 to 5 prayers because of the intervention of Prophet Moses (A.S.). We also learn interesting facts about the later addition of 7 Raka'as (units) of prayer through a request made by the Holy Prophet (PBUH), in addition to understanding the linguistic meaning of Salah and the response to those who reject Salah and argue that its 'in the heart'.
    Verse of Discussion:
“O’ Prophet! Say to My servants who have believed, to perform the prayers” - Surah ‘Ibrahim - Verse 31

Salaam to this mawlana, and all Muslim.
I wanted to point out that the worship with music actually is to stir the heart and emotions into glorification ,awe, and imploring to the lord with devotion and tears, that is stirred with music to evoke the emotions of imploring to God.

This is an interesting speech about Salaat. What I would like to know is, the names of the salaat. Like, what are their meanings? I have some thoughts in my head, but need to clarify.

Fajr is the first prayer at dawn (before sunrise). Then comes Zuhr and Asr salat which is midday. Lastly comes Salat al Magrib and Isha which is after sunset. The time for salat constantly changes, although you may look it up everyday to see the times.
      I hope this helps!

What do you mean by only three prayers Sir?

    • @rabiic.1049

@@krymsonkayharmony2529 I mean that the Qur'an mentioned only three prayers and not 5 as most Muslims do practice today, even in the hadith before the story of the voyage to God in the sky (not mentioned in the Qur'an by the way) the prophet Muhammad did pray only three times and not 5.

Rabii Chadli he prayed three times a day but 5 prayers. There is no proof that he prayed only 3
