After my mom died 24 Feb 2023 my father used to sing this song a lot. He even wrote down all the lyrics from listing and pausing the song. He oneday recored himself singing it and send the voicenote to almost everyone in our family. He passed 30 Sept 2023, 7 months after my mom. Only after he passed I learned that he used to sing it a lot to my mom when they were younger. This will be my wedding song for sure oneday ❤

Took me over 30 to finally marry the one girl I could never forget. This song was 2 years before her and I met but when she would be down on herself, this song would make me think of what I wanted to say to her to bring her back up. We went our own ways (I was military and was transferred, she went off the college, I was 19, she was 17). But though we both had gotten married, life events made it possible to do what we should have done 30+ years before. We been marred now for going on 15 years. After my mom died 24 Feb 2023 my father used to sing this song a lot. He even wrote down all the lyrics from listing and pausing the song. He oneday recored himself singing it and send the voicenote to almost everyone in our family. He passed 30 Sept 2023, 7 months after my mom. Only after he passed I learned that he used to sing it a lot to my mom when they were younger. This will be my wedding song for sure oneday ❤

Back in 2000 this was my AOL screen name. One evening I was online, this guy started chatting with me... about this song and then all Eric Clapton songs, then all other kinds of rock songs..etc. After awhile of chatting with one another (for a number of weeks), we decided to finally meet face to face for the first time...fast forward to today, we were married for 21 years (together for 23 yrs) and slow danced to this on our anniversary every year, that is until this past May (2023) when he passed away due to lung cancer and pneumonia 😭💔.(To my Wonderful husband: I will keep dancing our dance to this song, always. I'll never forget the love we shared, the songs we loved, the memories that we made...I Love You Always Steve ♥and forever!!!!!!!!!!). This song is so incredibly special to me ♥. Thank You Mr. Clapton for this incredibly very special song. I'll cherish it always!!!!!
