    I just recently bought my 2002 Cabrio Convertable. My top has small hole in back which I have put tape over. Mine came without a radio too but they left all wiring. For the moment I'm also using a Blue Tooth speaker. My boyfriend actually yelled at me for buying a VW and not consulting home first. I'm a grown ass woman and I support myself and I live on my own. I have since then split up with the guy with control issues and I love my car.

    My sister had a 98 Cabriolet, and it was a good little car. She bought it for $1,200, and it lasted her seven years! It had around 140k miles, and she put around 300k on it before the transmission went out. Surprisingly enough, it was still running perfectly fine before she got rid of it, so I guess not every Volkswagen is bad.

    I bought one of these in England for £500. It’s a 2001 model generally good condition. Bit of rot on wheel arches, rear shox need replacing and needs 3 tyres but I love it.

    LOVE my 5 speed 2000 mk3.5 Cabrio!!! All manual, no issues with top or window motors. 240k miles and she whips like a little gokart. No engine, trans, clutch issues at all. Upgraded to Brembo rotors and pads, new calipers all around. Later ditched the blown shocks and old springs for Koni oranges and H&R (slightly) lowering springs. I plan on keeping it till i can get that Boxster

      This was my first car so my knowledge was no where near what it is right now.
      There was a light rain that day and my tired were as bald as can be... and ofc i hit a sharp turn too fast and i spun out of control. I hit the side walk after that i messed up their front lawn and landed into someones living room :P

    Weld a piece of sheet metal for the floor. Simple shit to do. Grab a small Miller, LIncoln or even one of the Harbor Frieght wielders, practice and throw the sheet metal in there and seal it up. Easier than it sounds, if you've never welded before... Hell, I learned....

    I spent $2930 on my 2000 GL Cabrio (I wanted one sans the power windows or leather). Clean black cloth inside with redone bolsters, Nice stereo, leaky ac condenser (no issue for me. Its a convertible) not a hint of rust, excellent interior, straight body, new timing belt and water pump, serpentine belt, top like new, always garaged, could use shocks/struts.. 158k.. automatic (I actually found I enjoy it, weird?) . Its paid for and worth keeping up nice.

    I currently have a 2002 VW Cabrio, but the only problem with it, is that it won't reverse. The gears will shift, but the car itself won't move. What could be the problem for this?

      The gear guide might be broken

    • @enriqueortiz5440
      @enriqueortiz5440 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can only assume it's an A/T, my moms 99 cabrio with the A/T lost reverse and soon after started slipping BAD in first and second gear. Had to have the trans replaced with a remanufactured unit. You can have a mechanic hook up a scan tool to check the solenoids, but it's most likely the transmission starting to fail.
