I remember my art teacher telling me to paint yellow over a pink base. You might want to test it sometime. Makes the yellow look so rich and doesn't take as many coats!
I'm always in awe of how cool the fire effects you make are, something about the one in this sculpture in particular seems extra convincing this time around. That filament is so neat!! Amazing work on the whole thing as always, too!
Observations made while watching this: 1. I never noticed how much Bowser's face was more of a "big cat" shape than the presumably turtle/tortoise he's supposed to be his until his nose and mouth were isolated. I've been playing Super Mario since the original SNES version, how did I never see how cute and boopable Bowser's nose was?!?! 2. That subtle hyperbole joke at the beginning was **chef's kiss** 3. Despite watching Adam create clay sculptures from scratch for the last two years, I still have no clue how he can estimate the size of nails/teeth he needs to make ahead of the sculpture, even if he does it in the middle of the build. I have realized that I will never understand anatomy and it's a good thing I'm not a sculptor. Or a doctor. 4. I'm genuinely so proud to have been watching this channel long enough to see Adam's progression in his techniques, skill, abilities, and creativity in general. It's like watching a child grow into his calling and this channel is my visual comfort food 💚 5. This build is absolutely, fantastically, unequivocally, amazingly, and undeniably awesome.
Binging these has gotten me into and taught me a lot about sculpting. I’d have never thought about trying half the techniques you show on this channel lol
i know you won't see this, like, ever but: I really adore how you go about making these sculptures, such a good attitude, and all jokey... it really cheers me up when I'm feeling down. you never fail to put a smile on my face
I love the legendary alliteration, and the lovely lyrical laid-back words. Its quite a tasteful takeaway of tedious technique. But it really highlights the hobby and helps the home made aesthetic.
Gotta say, of all the methods I've seen to make fire for miniatures/sculptures, that wire-and-cottonball method is BY FAR the best. And you kept the paintjob on it light too. It looks downright photorealistic. Another one excellently done!!
This is super fun! Now we just need a monstrous, horror version of Bowser...perhaps crunching on a certain pair of brother's body parts. Gore running down his shell in the front, claws appropriately gore-ified, all while oozing menace whilst still rocking that orange doo. Great work as always Adam. Not always a fan of the subject, but I am always a fan of the effort and end result. :)
This looks absolutely incredible! The use of the cotton wool and the Eddison filament for Bowser's flame breath is an amazing detail! And all the colouring and little details really brings him to life! Amazing work! ❤❤
You have created another GREAT sculpture. I'm really inspired by how far you've come. In previous videos, when you created a "realistic" piece, it frequently looked like something from a horror movie or low b-rated movie. The Bowser here looks like something I would see in real life and it still maintains it's frightful nuances without seeming like it's from a horror movie. GOOD JOB!
I’m a super new subscriber and I just gotta say, your work is soooo inspirational and going back and watching your older videos is amazing, especially seeing how you consistently improve and progress your abilities with the little tricks and secrets you learn along the way!! You’re awesome and I’m so happy I found this channel, this is the funniest art show I’ve ever had the privilege of watching 😮
Totally could’ve accommodated for the head with a Massive shell, but this came out AWESOME 💯🔥 Bowser has always been my favorite Nintendo character. As well as Yoshi and DK 🙌🏻 *Well Done Sir* 😄
When I’m having a bad or boring day I know that there’s always a north of the border video to make me happy and not bored anymore and also to make me absolutely chuffed tah bits every time I click on the video
I have a hint for you concerning your yellow paint dilemma. I'm a retired painter (among a few dozen other careers) and when you have a color that just won't cover, when you mix the color just add a tiny dab of black. It won't really affect the final color, but the black helps to "shade" any brush strokes. If you've ever painted "ceiling white" on an indoor surface, note when you open the can, there's always some black swirls that need to be stirred in. That's why it's in there
Love it! I think the size of the head is just fine. I'd love to see the Mandalorian with little Grogu if your in need of ideas! (3rd season is releasing so good clicks and big money 😏)
Damn that statuette of Bowser is hella kickass!!! I especially loved how creative you got when making the fire breath. But now that you’ve done Bowser; I’ve got just one question for you. Why stop at just one royal Koopa?
I legit thought it was real fire in the thumbnail, and I still had trouble seeing it was fake even after watching you build it with cotton!!! This looks so cool!!!!!
I love that with how many Mario themed builds he makes, there’s no way I’ll forget to go see the movie when it comes out! Hopefully anyway, I can be very forgetful….
Hey Adam, all your creations are amazing, and this one is no exception! Keep up the great work! By the way, could you make something from Undertale or Deltarune in your realistic style? I think it would look great in your style! Have a great day, man!
Drago being a villain you can empathize with instead of being "bad guy is bad" was not a mistake. It added layers to the character and gave you a different perspective versus automatically typecasting him as another hurdle for Adonis to overcome. He was a victim of circumstance, not a blood thirsty drone seeking glory and adoration from the motherland.
Love watching you make tiny nerdy things while I make tiny nerdy things :) currently just 3d pokemon cards, but watching you make clay things makes me want to delve into clay arts too.
Suggestion, you should do a small series of a few videos to make one big diorama, that way you can still do your one video a week by doing one part a week while also slowly but surely finishing the big scene
THIS IS AMAZING!!! The glamour shots are beautiful and the big head fitted very well. But, I think if his mouth could glow too it would look 10x cooler. Just a thought :)
This is the best fire-breathing Chad Lizard you have ever created, and I believe that his huge bulbous head was a perfect addition to your peak as a creator. Nothing will ever be better than this. (You're right. Hyperbole is fun)
I didnt think it was possible to slowly ruin my childhood and have me hooked was possible but north of the border on multiple occasions have proven me otherwise. Cmon the luigi zombie was terrifying.

And paint gold over red as a base coat. Gives the gold luminance

Based on this version of Bowser, a Fury one would be cool as nightmare fuel assuming he's realistic.
Oh, I like that idea.
I vote for this, please help push it up!
that sounds horrible take my like

this is great keep it up

I love how every sculpture always starts with a T-pose armature
How quickly we forget about Kirby

This is easily one of my favorites of your work. awesome job Adam
“Hyperbole is the single greatest thing, ever.” Is something I’d very much wear on a T-shirt
Appreciate the inclusion of the "Bowser's inside story" Bowser's castle theme
