Arcade 1Up could make a killing if they tweaked their business model. 1. Sell download games to their cabinets 2. Sell stools at $60 ( Harbor Freight sells an identical stool with a swivel for $40 and always has it half price) Arcade1up would sell a ton of stools at $60 3. Sell light up coin door 4. Come up with a conversion kit to turn your riser cabinet into a deluxe 5. Sell high quality button and joystick upgrades
This was from last year, the full (two part) interview is in my playlist 😁 I released this to show that A1U holds a lot of licenses and what they COULD potentially do, but likely won't happen now that John is gone. A lot of people took him for granted.
This is a 👀 opener. I now see how some folk concocted ideas, rumors and lies of how the company under his representation was withholding game licenses so other Arcade companies could not compete.
Great video Jayde. Thanks! Miss John D. Our frustration with him was caused probably more that the big decisions were out of his hands but we would blame him for cabs not getting released. He did his job. He got the licenses. He may have even participated in design reviews. But, to pull the trigger go to production probably didn't involve john once it was at that step to make the final business decision.
This is a great interview, Jayde. Sad to see John D gone from Arcade1Up, given all these interesting ideas he had and the potential of what could have been with all of those licenses.
Sadly. the comment that hits the most, and hurts, is when John says i love that Scott takes risks..... but now with both him and scott gone, it is disheartening. fingers crossed either arcade1up does right, or john goes somewhere where his talents can flourish and helps the home arcade community continue to grow. Fingers crossed!
There's a two-part interview if you look in my playlist. This was content that was previously unreleased. We talk more about Afterburner in the original cut. The purpose of this was to show that the guy everyone complained about was the only one who actually cared about the "community."
He had an abundance of one thing I’ve seen none of since he left. Passion!
I mean, why should he be passionate about them after he left?
@@OperantSound I was referring to Arcade 1UP’s lack of passion since he left.

You were able to get an interview with John D? I already know you're going to ask the right questions.

@@NEONBattleBitch okay I'll check out the video.

great interview! I always wondered about being able to download new games into one Cabinet.
Great Interview! even though we don't see Eye to Eye regarding certain things going on in the gaming community.
Oh man… my heart sunk hearing him talk that way about Afterburner 😞
Fantastic interview. 🔥🔥🔥💯 I really enjoyed this one.

Really doing us dirty by talking about not doing afterburner, then bleeping it out the rest.
