True caller is very great. But only with one problem:- sometimes while using the app, it becomes so laggy and glitchy that it feels I'm using a phone with 1 gb Ram even if I'm having realme 6(6gb)

I think it's only useful for spam numbers, but I literally never have spam calls and quite rarely wrong numbers.

They obviously sell your data, so it's a paid video. That is what it is, regardless of whether it is Chinese or not. The issue is with us, not with the app. We download an app and become so reliant on it that we can't imagine life without it. We want to know who is calling because it gives us a sense of fulfillment. Stop using these types of apps and break the cycle. There's no reason to use these types of apps; none of them are secure. A simple google dialer can tell you if you are receiving spam calls. However, knowing who is calling is an invasion of privacy.

@Gyan Therapy I really hate a feature in true caller that allows others to change your name, a person changed my relative's name in true caller to a slang, due to which my relative whenever made a call to his clients, no one picked, this prank caused him a lot of trouble and defamation.
Either true caller should permanently remove this feature or let people turn it off.

If you are not a Truecaller user, the app has a 'suggest name' feature, but that takes many people suggesting the same name over time to change it. We have a filter in the app that should catch any slang, but we understand how this could slip through. If this name is still showing, please contact us immediately so we can help, or direct him to install the app to fix the name, or unlist it completely from our website.
@@truecaller There is no customer support contact number in truecaller application. The suggest name feature literally takes no time to chage the name and the verification process that you're taking about cannot catch hindi slangs. Removing contact from database?? How can one?? there are no instructions available in your app to do so.

*Rakesh in 2019 NPCI blocked truecaller from UPI. 2018-19 mein truecaller ka upi service bhi aata tha par 2019 mein upi banned hone ke baad wapas unlogo ne shayad apna license wapas nahi paya aur upi aur uske related options hata diya*. If you wanna know the details of that issue let me know.

There is one problem :
They should not make it necessary to make true caller the default dialing app for using it.....

Jab banks ke OTP , messages truecaller Copied karke dikhata he tab thoda insecure feel hota he...Actually it made for Spam calls but it started interfering with other things ..
And it gets lots of storage space ..
So I wish they just give us only option to identify Spam callers that it...

Messages are directed by network you use third party app But normaly this app works offlinly so intruecaller . but You feel that they adding some content when you are online then you need to change it ,but i cant think messages from truecaller can harm......
although opinion about storage is actually true because many low end device peoples are not noticed and who noticed they have a better device so peoplrs like u is not in huge quantity that they should do this change for us

Two years ago I saved a number without writing any name. True caller started to show a name of that number. The owner of that number never used true caller and he used a feature phone. So I investigated and found that one of his friends saved his name on his phone's contact list writing that name. After this I have never used true caller again.

Hey there! The app does not upload contacts to be made public or searchable (we follow Google Play & Apple App Store guidelines, which also prohibit apps that do this). But we do have partners with public directories, and a feature in the app called “Suggest a Name” where people can suggest a name they know to a number that is nameless. Of course, this takes many submissions over time to show up - or the number owner making a profile to overtake the submission. We also have a quick opt-out option for anyone who does not want to be part of Truecaller. That can be found on our website. Hope this helps!

Basically any app that asks permission "to draw over other apps" is shady, you have to be extra careful with those , as they can just run in background all the time tracking all your usage as well.
make sure to untick these as well which says "Allow analysis for performance and usage", "Opt in to send analytical data" - I would rarely opt in to those when the software is system software and not a 3rd party tool.
Anyways, this days our data is not secured, even the antivirus Avast had been found guilty of selling our data commercially.
I don't even trust ROMs as well, although they might be system software but we don't know what the manufactures have integrated inside the piece of code (like for example I could put a line of code in rom to track the mac address of the device and connected IP address and router log as well, I don't think even VPN would be able to protect me)
so choosing stock system software or making your own rom without any 3rd party services and making sure your phone doesn't have extra hidden hardware/chip (which could automatically run a tracking program independently) is the final choice of securing yourself.
Do you know that Google AI can even read through your emails and/or messages and even tally them with your browsing habits to show you targeted ads? Nowadays, ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that can be stored online - WILL BE COMPROMISED at some point of time. The point is - whether that will be used against you is the most important aspect.
