Para desarmar cilindros. Cuando está girado (ya sea con la llave o después de ganzuarlo) lo usás para sacar el core sin que salgan volando los contra-pernos.

Sería así el uso:
1) Sacar el clip que sostiene el core (cilindro interior con los pernos).
2) Girás el cilindro.
3) Empujás el core hacia afuera usando el follower desde la parte de atrás.
Y listo, te ahorrás el tener que colocar nuevamente los contra-pernos en las cámaras. Se usa mucho en la cerrajería para hacer llaves desde 0 y en el ganzuado deportivo para cambiar la combinación de la cerradura o simplemente para ver los pernos que lleva.
No hace falta que sean cilindros de latón como los de Tallan, con una pila uno se apaña igual las más de las veces. :)
