    Honorable mention that Cai Yuns smashes here look about as powerful as the "hard hitters" now a days. Even if the numbers say otherwise, I'm basing it on the visuals. Fu Haifengs smashes were out of this world.

    I have a weak smash. Anyone can return my smash with a high lift. This forces me to keep smashing and I get tired very fast. People can even return my "netkills" or some easy midcourt smashes. Do I need to go to the gym or improve my technique. I think sometimes I accidentally slice the shuttle. Also smash is not steep enough. How do I get the explosive sound of a smash? Sweet Spot?
    Thanks
    Natty

      Technique all the way, strength obviously helps but if you think about it the strongest man in the world wouldn't be able to do a smash at all

    • @MsWck
      @MsWck 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You must improve your technique first then just improve your strength because without good technique, the strength is useless. Remember technique first just come with strength.

    • @nattybumpo
      @nattybumpo 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks everyone! I feel like technique is fine. I just need a finishing smash from mid court to get the point.

    • @babyuknow8347
      @babyuknow8347 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a good technique, you don't really need to smash too hardly with your arms. A powerful smash also comes from your stance, from feet, to your knee, waist, wrist, adjusting to your sweet-spot etc...Other than increasing the strength of your arms, you could also improve on the accuracy and trickery of your smashes to kill off your opponents.

      Dude, Fu haifeng holds the record for the fastest smash (325 Kmph i think) in International Competition, by which I mean in a real-time game situation and thats the Truth. Whereas the Malaysian (Tan Boon Heong) did in a YONEX smash testing lab ( 400 + Kmph ).

    • @sinhnhatvuive83
      @sinhnhatvuive83 10 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Kumar Guru I think the speed of a smash in a badminton game was calculated as the average tempo of the shuttle flying across the court (from one racquet to the ground of the other side) and among those, Fu's one was the fastest (332 kmph) whereas the speed of Tan's smash (495kmph) was calculated as the tempo of the shuttle right after leaving Tan's racquet. If Fu's smash was calculted like that way, the speed would definitely be over 500kmph or even nearly 600kmph. Furthermore, Tan's strongest smash ever recorded in a game could only reach over 280kmph as i remembered, but Fu did it over 290kmph very often. No doubt that there would be no second man like Fu (after he retires) can smash at over 300kmph.

      @KBKriechbaum 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      sinh nhat No, it is not calculated as the average "tempo of the shuttle flying across the court", do you know what extraordinary machinery and math would be neccessary to calculate that? Nobody knows where the shuttle will go before they hit. They calculate the average speed for a very short distance right after the shuttle went off the racket.
