wow this is a huge show. The spotlight that follows Russell seems kinda off but still what a production. Funny to see Russell doing these Broadway-ish things with TSO and then performing with Symphony X
Does the audio for this video come from the soundboard? Is anything tweaked? Russell's vocals seem much louder/more forward than what I hear myself in an arena.
I wish we had access to soundboard tapes, but this is audio captured from the 2nd row floor, inner aisle on Chris’ side. I was getting a good % of the sound from a front of stage speaker as well as full from the main PA. It hasn’t been tweaked too much from the original audio file - definitely not cleaned up at all or the vocal boosted from the band. Dave Wittman does a masterful job mixing FOH sound and the video camera audio I normally post videos with is excellent wherever I am in the venue. The only difference with those videos and this is that the audio was captured with stand alone stereo mics direct to audio recorder and then synced.
